Freddie had lost track of how long it had been since he'd changed. After the fight with Newt he'd been left with little choice but to take a shower, but even trying to do it with his eyes closed had led to an unpleasant new discovery. He'd missed the nubs on his abdomen in all the excitement before, and he had no idea what to make of them. The frog man's stuttering warning about things only getting worse haunted him, and with nothing in his duplex to distract himself with he had little choice but to get out and just do something.

He could have used the intercom to ask for some new clothes, but that still felt like admiting defeat to him. That, and it would mean talking to one of the staff. So as it was he was stuck trudging through the village in what remained of his uniform. The shirt was open over the tank top that was his only other option, and it was a small miracle that his pants still hadn't completely split along the seems with the new width of his hips. The shoes, already uncomfortable as hell before his toes were deformed, were left back in the wreck he'd made of his duplex. He should have thought about the fact he had to live there before he took all his frustrations out on the walls, and the pillows, and the chairs... but he'd been thinking even less clearly than usual.

He pulled the uniform shirt closed, for all the good that would do, and made his way towards the town hall. He knew there was a gym around here somewhere, and all the other freaks would be out running in the jungle or humping each other or whatever the hell they did when they were out of sight. He didn't understand how any of them could go around acting like everything was fine. It was insane.

Shenzi was wandering around the village, bored as hell. A few days till her birthday, and no one to hang out with. She hadn't be able to get ahold of Aislinn or Miller yet, so she was feeling kinda blue. Wrapped up in her leather jacket and close fitting, ripped up jeans, she had a simple red tank top on, a railroad workers hat on her head with her hair tied back in heavy braids.

Hands shoved in her pockets, she stopped mid stride as she saw a woman walking around in what looked like a police uniform. Or, what she thought was a woman. A really fugly woman. Wrinkling her nose just looking at her, she let her expression shift to one of friendly neutrality as she approached her.

Walking still felt off to Freddie. There more above and less below, and damn it how could you swagger with hips like that? It was awkward. Walking with his head down just reminded him that whatever was wrong with his feet was only going to get worse, and in his head the words were always in the frog's whiny stutter. It shouldn't have been like that. He'd won, even if he'd been shocked for the effort, and yet he was still a mess. It just wasn't fair. What was he supposed to do now?

Deal with one of the other test subjects, apparently. He could very easily just turn and walk away from her, but then there'd be no confrontation. As he approached, Freddie took in everything from her clothes to her funky blue hair and quietly made his own assumptions.

And when they were close enough he growled, "What?"

His voice was still deep, but not as much as it used to be. All the hormones and the shrinkage had knocked it that much closer to the feminine scale of things. And it would only get worse...

She tried not to visibly wince at the voice; she couldn't help it, it grated on her hearing. "Nuthin'. Didn't say anything." Shenzi said, raising an eyebrow as a corner of her mouth turned upwards in a smile, though it looked a little more like a smirk, albeit not intended that way.

She was even uglier up close. A funky nose, and a really masculine look to her. The nose looked kind of piggish, so maybe the changes had started effecting her; her ears were pointy, too. "Sorry for whatever offense you might've taken." She said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Yer starin'," Freddie said, the accent a little more apparent with his rising temper. Granted, he'd been staring too, but that didn't count. His ears twitched as he leaned closer. "So what the hell d'ya expect?"

Country girl. Fun. Rolling her eyes, she shoved her hands deeper into her pockets as she shrugged her shoulders again. "I don't know, and I don't care. But I would appreciate you getting out've my face." Shenzi said, tapping her temple in an obscure gesture.

Freddie's lip curled into a snarl. "Don't you go gettin' an attitude with me, Smurfette." He curled one hand into a fist. "Cause I'll knock the dye right outta your hair."

Shenzi couldn't help but give an unlady-like snort, which slowly turned into a loud laugh. "Smurfette? I believe you've got it wrong there, blbec. Smurfs happen to have blue skin. God, way to get your cartoons right." She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

Freddie raised an eyebrow. "Yer gonna argue with me about cartoons?" He snorted with laughter. In his mind, that was even worse than getting facts wrong in the first place... which he did more often than anyone pointed out.

"Christ, that's pathetic." He folded his arms, but with all there was to work around it didn't look quite as cool as he'd hoped.

She snorted again, wrinkling her nose at the woman. "Pfft, you're the one who brought it up in the first place, so I wouldn't be talking." Shenzi looked skyward for patience; she wasn't entirely sure why she was bothering with this. Maybe the woman was just PMSing or some s**t. "I'm hardly the pathetic one, at least I don't look mannish." She said, giving her a critical look even as she tried to fold her arms across her chest.

"Goddamn it!" Freddie threw his hands up in disbelief. How could anybody just assume he was... How could... The boobs, right. That, and the only way he could really prove otherwise was by showing them, and no one needed to see what he'd been reduce to.

"It's cause I AM I MAN!" His voice not only rose to the shout with that last bit, but it cracked on 'am'. His cheeks flushed red... but that was anger, not embarrassment, really it was.

Shenzi jumped back with a startled exclamation as she shouted. "A man? Well, that might explain the face, but then where'd the boobs come from? You get plastic surgery but tell them leave the face?" She asked, looking quizical with a raised eyebrow.

The distance Shenzi put between them just barely spared her from a getting a spattering of spit as Freddie sputtered over the very idea he'd want that.

"What the... Why... ********'... NO!" He raked his hands though his hair, which for once had no gel. It was hard to mold the perfect style when you couldn't stand looking in the mirror.

"They did this to me, ya idiot. You think I wanna look like this? Like hell!" He shook his head, still confounded. Even he knew he made for an unattractive man and an even worse looking... but he wasn't a woman yet.

Now she was somewhat confused. They? As in... The doctors? Shenzi frowned as she looked at the woman, man, thing. Was it possible to change a person from one gender to another, without plastic? But then, she would have said it was impossible to turn into an animal two weeks ago. Shaking her head, she stuck her tongue out. "Sucks to be you then. Least I won't have to worry about growing a d**k."

"You'll still grow somethin' though, wontcha?" Freddie said, his voice trembling with rage. "Fur or feathers or scales... Ain't no promise of what, now is there?"

A very unpleasant, manic grin spread across his face. Now that there was no hope denying it for himself, he took perverse pleasure in knowing every normal person who ran into would suffer. "It don't matter whatcha are, you'll just be another one of the freaks."
