A Star Wars alternate-universe role-play plotline: first conceived by Sephiroth_2000, and edited by K 19
Coruscant: a vast, multi-leveled city enveloping an entire planet. It is the capital of the civilized world, the pinnacle of culture, and the setting of our story. Populous and busy, it has served as the center of galactic business for as long as civilization has existed. These generations of power and enterprise have developed the body politic into something dark and sinister.
The Corporation came into power an indeterminate number of years ago. Funded by the Coruscanti government, the said corporation quickly overtook and monopolized the economy. Larger warehouses began to appear, and a darker stain of smog began to pour out of once clean-burning smokestacks. The sky, once clear enough to see the stars, became polluted by the new and unnatural smog. The smell of capital progress hung over everything.
More than just ecological changes occurred. The Government laid off millions of workers, eliminating the Middle Class and effectively creating a colossal rift between the elite upper class and the enormous lower class. Heavy tariffs were imposed, and eventually all offworld business ended. Transportation became socialized, and personal vehicles were eliminated. The only space-travel is used for economic transportation purposes, and, again, is run by the government. People are able to get from place to place by either walking or using the government’s less-than-luxurious transports.
Poverty reigned over billions. Constant inspections by the Elite Patrols began a new reign of fear. Innocent citizens were shot on the street corner in mass demonstrations, children would disappear in the middle of the night, and it wasn’t uncommon for a suspicious family’s house to be murderously vandalized. The Government began to enforce a strict curfew; being outside past sunset without the proper pass resulted in death before sunrise.
In the middle of the crime and chaos, The Corporation began a series of reforms. Medicine suddenly became miracle-workers capable of curing the most menial and elusive bacteria. Immunizations began the process of eliminating the most debilitating viruses. A new elixir known as bacta is introduced by an elite team of scientific doctors. Food is created and processed with such care and knowledge that malnutrition ends. New forms and styles of music increase productivity and intellectual capacity while decreasing stress. Those who can’t afford these thaumaturgies aren’t given access to them. One phenomenon after another is pumped out, tauntingly appearing in only upper-class houses.
Unbeknownst to the people of Coruscant, The Corporation’s malignant ways are barely visible. Underground, in bastion-style warehouses are rows upon rows of sleeping Force children. They are all young; they never seem to age while locked and immersed in tubes. They are in a state of suspended meditation, and they are being manipulated by The Corporation in order to create all sorts of benefits for society. They seem to generate a curious amount of energy, which is stored away by The Corporation for an unknown use.
These children of the Force were not born in the warehouses, nor were they “created.” In the early days of The Corporation, its chief executive officers located select Force Users, stemming from Upper Class backgrounds, known as the “Dark Jedi” and offered money in exchange for their services. The Dark Jedi swept the streets of Coruscant, gathered every Force-sensitive child and slaughtered every older Force-sensitive citizen they could find. They returned their bounty to the heads of The Corporation who, in turn, developed their current system. Impressed by the Dark Jedi, The Corporation offered them riches, luxury, and power. The Dark Jedi, impressed in turn by something within The Corporation, accepted. Now, they are The Corporation's most feared "peacekeeping" force.
Hidden deep within the depths Coruscant's slums, a band of militant rebels, oppossed to The Corporation's opression of the impoverished and the overall inbalance of society, rally their limited numbers in an attempt to bring The Corporation to restore equility. Armed with out-dated weaponary and only and handful of skilled warriors, they often find themselves being closed watched by The Corporation, who hopes to quell their uprising. However, beyond the ideals of both groups, a more sinister plan is unfolding....

This is the draft storyline that we hope to impliment. We are aware that the idea of an "alternate reality" is somewhat risky, but it aims to reduce the number of players who know the entire history of Star Wars like the back of their hand and using it in the Roleplay. Some parts of the divised story have been intentionally left out so that, again, players aren't using OOC knowledge in the Roleplay.
Names are still needed for "The Corporation" and for "The Rebel" group, along with feedback on what you think.
