Latifu, the teal lioness that had been childhood friends with Bakari, had learned that she needed to search out one of a group to be accepted into the pride that her friend lived in. It didn't seem so hard except...she couldn't find any of them! Let alone any of the pride's members to ask. It seemed as if they had some secret, hidden place that they all lived. It frusterated the teal lioness, as she was tired of having to stay out in this jungle in a futile search.

"Oh gods, where are they?" she questioned the trees, which just swayed, silent as ever. "I can't find them at all." She decided to take a small break, and plopped down next to a tree. Well, where to look now? Perhaps if she harassed the weird rock-like wall that was in the middle of the jungle, she'd get something. Hopefully.

Mteuli was normally one to travel. He loved a change of pace and landscape and loved all the new people he met along the way. Of late, however, he had been far more grounded then he ever thought he would be in his life. His mate had informed him she was pregnant...and there was no way he'd risk missing the birth of his children. So he had not left his pride's lands in a very long while. He had to admit, though he was a very relaxed person, it worried him to even explore outside the security of the rock wall at present. But here he was, stretching his legs out in the jungle.

After a few minutes he began to relax, growing comfortable again with the rhythm of his walk and the sounds of the jungle around him. A smile slipped across his maw and then he paused. No matter how green the forest, teal was not a color he was used to. So you have to imagine how strange it was to see a lioness of that color. He moved over to her, curiousity in his being, "Hello there, My Dear."

The lioness started a bit, not realizing that there was another around, she was too wrapped up in her fatigue. She jumped slightly before sighing. "Startled me..." she breathed, gathering her thoughts before she spoke. She didn't want to say exactly what was on her mind, like a certain boy she knew....

"Hello." She started, not sure on how to blurt out just what she needed. She indeed was sick of wandering around, but she didn't want to seem outwardly rude. Especially if he didn't live around here. "I was uh....wondering if you lived around here?" She said carefully, peeking around in the jungle as if to make sure that yes, this was a jungle.

Mteuli offered her a warm smile. It had been a while since he had interacted with someone he didn't know. It was a nice feeling, something he had missed. "Yes, I live around here. With my pride actually," He nodded and cocked his head slightly, "Are you lost, perhaps? I could help you find your way, Miss. I'm very good with directions, I must say." It was true. With all his traveling it would be quite a disgrace if he didn't at least somewhat know his way around.

Her ears perked up when she heard the word 'pride'. Well, at least this was someone in the pride! Perhaps he could help her with her task.

"Oh, well....I'm not lost, persay. I was looking for a certain someone..." she started slowly. "I was looking to join the pride, to live with my friend, but I need to see one of the prides leaders....I think...so that I can live here too."

She shuffled her feet a little, and her tail curled around one of her back legs. Obviously she was shy, something she probably would die if Bakari ever saw.

"Do you...do you know who I should talk to about this?"

Mteuli smiled in a friendly manner and chuckled, "Well I can hardly aid you, my dear, if you don't provide any names. What pride? Or perhaps what friend? Or better yet, what is the name of a leader you must speak to?" He was fairly familiar with the goings on of other areas, so he was sure he could at least recognize a name or something and point her in the right direction.

Latifu blinked. Well perhaps she wouldn't have to aimlessly wander in the jungle anymore. Perhaps this fellow could help her out, and she could just get back to being with Bakari. While he had shown her where to go, she was too nervous to enter the pride's real home without getting approval. She had gotten into too much trouble in the past to avoid that now.

"Umm...it's the Unity Walkers...I'm pretty sure. My friend is Bakari, he was born into the pride. We are...very close friends, and I decided to live here with him, so I can see him more." She did her best to hide the blush that wanted to appear on her cheeks. Sure she could be rude to Bakari, but she really liked him. "And I'm to find either a Kauta...a Mteuli...or a Mteule."

The words hung in the air. Hopefully this lion wouldn't be from some neighboring, rival pride that she didn't know of....hopefully.

Mteuli chuckled, humor reflected in his eyes. So, Bakari had found a lady friend, had he? Well, that certainly was a joyous thing. He wasn't going to be one to delay such a reunion. In fact, he'd encourage it. Close bonds like these were not to be scoffed at. "Ah, well then you are in luck, sweet one, for I am Mteuli," He murmured bowing his head, "A priest of the Unity Walkers, to put it simply. I could escort you there, if you like."

Latifu perked up again. Really? Wow, that was certainly like finding a needle in a haystack....whatever that was. She'd found one that she needed so soon!

"Wow...umm, that's great," she said quickly, offering him a quick bow. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mteuli. I'm Latifu. I've ah...been Bakari's friend for some time, and it was hard seeing him when I came by..." she flushed as she said this. Granted, most of the time she couldn't find him when she came by, but this wasn't the only reason she wanted to join. Which she kind of assumed the priest guessed at, but she'd never admit it.

"That would be great, thank you." She stood up now, gave herself a little shake to loosen up her muscles, ready to follow the priest as he would show her to where she was to go.

Mteuli understood what she meant without much trouble. He was a people person, after all. Empathy came naturally to the sweet-worded male. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Latifu," He purred in a frinedly manner. He swished his tail, watching her with his emerald orbs. With a small gesture of his head he told her, "Alright. This way. Be careful...some do not care for the trees and get a little lost."

Latifu paused a bit, a little nervous. Just where was he leading her? Must be where the pride actually lived. Since they were kinda hard to...yanno, find.

"Okay..." she started, making her way slowly in the direction that Mteuli had pointed her in. Well, she didn't have a reason to doubt him, but she'd keep her eye out anyway. "Just....where are we going?"

"To the pride, of course," Mteuli replied smoothly, never missing a beat as he moved forward to fall into stride just a step ahead of the teal female. He noticed she was a little nervous and edgy, but didn't mention it. He figured she'd relax if he gave her room to breath. "The entrence is a bit tricky to find, but once we're inside I'm sure I could escort you to your friend. Or if you'd prefer I could let you find him on your own. It's harder to get lost once your inside, you see."

The teal lioness was thankful when the priest took the lead, for she hadn't a clue where to go. Her form fluidly followed him, keeping quiet until he had spoken to her.

Unwilling to seem rude, she offered him a nod, though he most likely wouldn't see it, as he was in front of her now. "Yes...ah..I'm sure I will be able to find him. It's not like he's that hard to find, klutz that he is," she said lightly, a little laughter in her voice. Obviously she was relaxing, feeling a bit more like she could mix in well with these folk. Mind, she'd only met one, but if he was high enough to be a priest, then that was a good start.

Mteuli chuckled. "I'm sure he'll be very glad to see you, no matter what you think of his grace," he murmured, his voice coated with friendly affection and amusement. He led her along through twisting trees until they began to clear a little. They were trailing along the rock wall now, the one that seemed to stretch in an endless circle. Finally he paused before slipping around a corner almost hidden by the way the rock formation was, leading into a path that seemed to pass right through the wall alongside a river.

Latifu wasn't sure where he was leading her, but she did her best to keep up with him. Memorize this, she thought, 'cause Bakari will probably tease you if you don't remember it...

She blinked when it seemed like Mteuli seemed to disappear, though. She had been too focused on remember where her feet were going to pay attention to Mteuli. "Err..." she called out loud. "I seemed to of ah....missed you, Mteuli."
