Inari was padding along through the taller grass today, somewhat close to Priderock, but still out in the more open areas where some antelope were grazing. He wasn't a threat to them, they wouldn't mind him at all, just move a bit away if Inari got too close. He wanted to get bigger soon, he wanted to not be a little round ball of fluff and being a cub for so long.
Then again, being a cub made it easier for Inari to find friends. He was independent, but energetic, he was always out looking for new friends, looking for adventures. Trying to play a silly game that might look silly to some but were more fun for Inari then most would believe.
The brown cub continued to walk, until he made it close to where the watering hole was, his golden hues set on his reflection, he was still so tiny when everyone else was large. But, who knows, perhaps being a cub for a little bit longer would be good, and he could make some friends before he got too big.

 A bright cubbish giggle filled the air, a splash of water following an excited paw. The little explorer had wandered away from home again, his spirit uncontainable by his parents. Today he had wandered further than before, finding his way to the watering hole where he was now quite fascinated with pawing at his own reflection and the fish that swam beneath the surface.
Such an interesting world this was filled with so many interesting things. And such fascinating creatures that lived in the water, with such short limbs and brightly colored hides that shimmered in the sunlight. He wondered what it would feel like to touch one, or if they could speak.
Tufted tail flicking excitedly, the cub batted at the water, paw slipping below the surface, scattering the fish in all directions. He laughed again, a bright smile on his maw, orange eyes captivated as the fish swam back as if fascinated by the curious cub as he was by them.

Inari's ears twitched to the die as he set his eyes on a cub not too far from him, pawing at the water and giggling and smiling. He seemed to be having a lot of fun with it, perhaps the fish had gotten closer to the edges over there? Well, he could go and check it out.
He stood up and padded over to where the black and white cub was, tilted his head, tail flicking to the side. He seemed to be easily amused, but then again, Inari could be easily amused as well.
"His, whatcha doing?" he asked curiously, puffing his chest out a bit to try adn make him look bigger, but it wasn't working out very well, "I'm Inari, who're you?"

Dark ears flicked, his head ducked against another splash as one of the fish leapt from the water, followed by another laugh as the shimmering creature landed in the water again. Grinning broadly, the dark cub turned to look at the other cub.
"Playing with the fish, they're neat."
He dipped one paw into the water, white toes wriggling, laughing happily as the swimming fish tickled his paw.
"My name's Shin, nice to meet you."

Inair padded closer, and peered down into the water. The fish were so close here! How did Shin do that? Or perhaps the fish were just being a bit stupid today. Inari had tried to catch fish many a time, but he always seemed to miss grabbing their little wriggling bodies.
"They are neat, I like the colors on them, like that one," Inari said pointing his paw to a brightly colored fish with stripes. He liked the stripes, didn't quite know why. "How long have you been out here Shin? And how did you get the fish to come so close?"

"Uh-huh, those are neat, but I like the ones like that one."
Lifting one paw, the black and white cub pointed to the fish that had caught his eye, black on the bottom and a darker blue above that sparkled like a sapphire in the midday sun. His head tilted curiously, orange eyes blinking at Inari as he tried to think of an answer to his question.
"I don't know, maybe the fish just wanted to play?"
Grinning, he batted at one of the fish as it circled his paw. Or maybe it was because his white toes sparkled in the sun, tempting the fish as much as their shimmering scales tempted him. Or maybe it was because he wasn't actually hunting them, after all there was no need to flee when there was no danger.

Inari leaned closer to the water's edge, saw the fish Shin was talking about. Inari nodded, 'Yes, those are nice too, I like how they sparkle when teh sun goes through teh water," Inari said leaning back adn sitting at the water's edge.
He himself put a paw in the water, smiled as the fish encircled it, rubbed against the side of it and sparkled, the different colors standing out from the clear water. It had been so long since Inari just sat and played, he was usually trying to get stronger. So when he saw his godly friend again, that he might be impressed. Inari still had to try and find him.
"What else do you do for fun Shin?" he asked curiously, perhaps they could play a game or something.

Both paws in the water, white toes wriggled, a light giggle falling from his jaws as the fish swam around, tickling the fur between his paw pads. He blinked at Inari's question, the reflected sunlight dancing in orange eyes.
"I dunno, play, pick on my sister, oh! chasing birds is fun, Ushu taught me how to hunt them! Or--I know, wanna play tag?"
His voice was bright and cheerful, tail flicking in his growing excitement. Suddenly he was on his paws, bouncing at the water's edge much to the dismay of the fish, then bounding around behind Inari and lightly batting at him with one paw.
"Tag! You're it!"
With a happy laugh, Shin bounded off, running away from the other cub, taunting him into a chase.

Inari peered down at the water. Shin picked on his sister, well, that wasn't very nice. But before Inari's knew it, Shin was saying something about tag. Tag? What the heck was tag? Then Shin had moved, batted at Inari with a paw and darted off.
So...you were supposed to poke another lion, then run away, perhaps they poked you back? Okay, that wasn't so hard. Inari chased after Shin, trying to catch up to him. His paws carried him over the earth and grass beneath them both as htey kept going along. Shin was pretty fast for his age and size. Which was admirable. As Inari got closer, he reached out with his paw to gently tap it on Shin,
"Tag, your it!"
Then it was his turn to run, he ran towards some stones nda taller grass, and crouched down, trying to hide in it. He guesses it wouldn't be that hard to find him though, Shin seemed very smart.

The little cub had run as fast as he could, small paws stirring the grass and earth in his wake. But he had been caught, perhaps because the other cub was older. But that was okay, it was part of the game after all.
"Hey!"
With a happy laugh, and a flick of his tail, Shin turned and darted after the other cub. But the other cub was hiding, and for a time Shin paced through the grass searching for him, eyes scanning for any trace of the brown fur, for a sign of movement that would give the other away.
"Ah-ha-"
Shin instantly quieted as if remembering something. He had been learned about stalking quietly from Ushu when they had chased the birds, maybe that would work here too. So the little one sneaked through the grass, orange eyes focused on a bit of brown fur that must have been Inari. He pounced, springing forward with paw outstretched to tag the other cub.
"Gotcha!"

Inari tried to keep quiet, keep his breathing to soft and calm, deep breaths so that perhaps he could hide a little longer. Perhaps this was a game, but it was like hunting as well, keeping low crouched to the ground. But this was more fun then the training he did most of his days.
He heard Shin and Shin's paws hit him, Inari smiled and flicked his tail to the side smirking, "Yup, you got me," Shin was an interesting cub. More fun loving then the other cubs he had met. Perhaps it was just his lineage, of why he acted in that way.
But Inari liked it.
He had to play once in a while didn't he?
"Your turn to hide in here," Inari said with a nod, then he put his paws over his eyes, giving Shin some time to try and hide form him.

Shin was just a cub, happy and full of energy and filled with the desire to explore, to play new games, and to meet new friends. He was also a boy, and as boys often are, he was a rough-houser, athletic, and thought all girls were gross. He was always eager to try something new, to reach higher than he had before, and to outdo his sister so he could taunt her with it later.
"Oh! Hide and seek, okay! But no peeking!"
A grin on his maw, his voice bright, the little cub laughed and bounded off, searching for a place to hide. Leaping more than running, Shin made his way back toward the water, eyes searching back and forth for a good hiding place.
Finally he found a place, a little spot near the water's edge. He lowered his body to a crawl, slinking under the tall reeds near the stones. Lifting a paw to his mouth he stifled a giggle, trying to stay quiet least he be found easily. He however neglected his flicking tail, which stuck just outside of his hiding spot.

Inari smirked and put his paws over his eyes fully, true, he was going to peek but since Shin asked he wouldn't peak, wouldn't be fair now would it? His tail flicked to the side as he counted in his head, his other paw clawing at the earth beneath it. It was a bit wet here, but they were by the watering hole so it wasn't much of a surprise.
Removing his paw after what Inari thought was a long enough time he padded through the tall grass, not finding Shin at all, hmm, where would he have gone? Back to the watering hole? Maybe, as he continued there he kept searching through the taller grass, by the stones, but nothing, no Shin.
As he got closer to the watering hole Inari peered down at the swimming fish, Shin wouldn't be able to hide under the water...would he? Inari had never heard of anyone trying, so he doubted Shin would try such a thing. He looked around until his eyes fell on some reeds. Something was moving behind it...
Padding closer and almost silently, Inari to his amusement found Shin's tail flicking side to side out of his hiding place. He grinned and put his paws down on his tail, "Found you!" he said with a smile.

"Yipe!"
The little cub jumped, the reeds snapping above him as his head hit with a thud. He had certainly not expected that, and having forgotten about his tail completely he had no idea what had grabbed him from behind. Reeling around with a little 'ffftt' of a hiss, orange eyes fell on the other cub. Realizing it was only Inari tagging him, Shin relaxed and grinned widely.
"Hey, you found me already, that was pretty good!"
Laughing, he bounced on his paws then sprang from the reeds, pouncing after the other cub, batting at him playfully with his paws, tail flicking over his back with a playful 'grrrr'.

Golden eyes blinked and a smile was upon Inari's maw. Indeed he had found him, but Shin, he was good at hiding, good at finding, it impressed Inari and made him deep down want to get even better, perhaps he and Shin would be great pride members someday.
He crouched down, grinning, giving a playful 'grrr' back, tail flicking from side to side, ears back a bit, his tiny fangs gleaming in the sunlight. His paws swatted out towards Shin's, playfully of course, he would never mean to hurt him at all.
"This is fun, so long since I've been able to play, not many of my friends are like this," Inari stated with a nod, still watching Shin, smiling, golden hues set on Shin, muscles relaxing, "Are we friends Shin?" he asked curiously, Inari hoped so, he liked being able to play with someone.
