Green eyes searched the ground as white paws pounced upon the earth. A nose scrunching up sniffing the jumper bug he had followed. His pelt was black like his mother's, but also had darker black spots like his father. He was a child of both Leopard and Lion, but he wasn't sure what he was though.

He believed himself to be a lion, a funny looking lion but a lion all the same, his tail was like Kujack's, his face as Aysh'a, but he was a curious little devil, and he had snuck out on his own today, getting away from teh loving caresses of Aysha and fatherly paw tapping of Kujack.

He stumbled upon a puddle, crisp to the bottom he watched it ripple from his touch, green eyes blinked and watched, the wind even created rippled waves. The wind died down to a breeze, ruffling his fur um, he crouched down and poked his reflection again,

"What am I?"

"Why, you're the product of a bond of love, little black cub."

A soft, golden voice rang out, the light breeze easily carrying her words to the little cub that lay before her. Upon looking at the form, a golden rush of warmth could be seen on her frame. The sun gleamed off her back, the light tints of glitter softly reflecting the rays the sun so warmly gave. The ribbons that normally danced around her limbs were silent, as she way laying in the tan savannah grasses that framed her form.

Her own emerald eyes glistened as she watched the little cub, a small smile around her maw. Her mane of hair crawling around her neck with the breezes, she shifted her head to the side, as if to show that she wouldn't mean any harm. The little dreamcatcher that dangled off her ear gave off a 'tink' with the tilt of her head.

"Though if you really must know, perhaps I could tell you."

Hayate was about to smack the puddle's reflection with his paw, but right when he was going to he heard a voice. He squeaked, jumped, and whirled around to have his green orbs fall on a golden creature before him. He was crouched down, hind quarters up in the air as if he would poune on her. But she was so big, so yellow...wait, were those...wings?! What?!

His mouth fell open a little bit, in awe of her. "You have wings? How come...why don't I have wings...I want wings too..." Hayate spoke, words rambling out of his mouth. He stood up and padded towards her, "Tell me? What am I please?"

He was a curious child, perhaps not suied to be out on his own out in the roguelands, but curiousity got this cat, and he was all for excitement, even at such a young age. "I'm Hayate," he said prould,y puffing out his chest, "What's your name?"

The golden goddess laughed lightly, always enjoying the curiosity of young ones. She loved to fill their minds with what they wanted to know.

She loosened up her wings a bit, the long feathers drapped on the grasses. With a welcoming smile, she decided to softly give him what he asked. It wasn't good to keep young ones curious. They would either grow bored and move on, or their little minds would fill with such rediculous things that were such a pain to get rid of.

"Well, little one, I have wings because I'm a Goddess." Her soft voice seemingly swirled around him. "We're given wings to help us watch other little ones like you."

She smiled at his excitement, and was thankful for the offering of his name. "Well, then Hayate. I'm Mdhamana'kinyamkela....but for you, you can all me Mana."

She swished her tail a bit, the jewelry on her chest tinking against one another as she shifted her position. The tiger's eye gems glowed with warmth from the sun's rays. "And to answer your original question...you are something that could be called a Leopon. Or as I would rather put it, a very unique individual."

"Leo-pon?" it sounded interesting, but she was a goddess! He had met a goddess on teh first day he went out on his own, Hayate wondered if his mother and father would be surprised or think he was making the story up. Mana was so interesting, Hayate padded closer and tilted his head to the side, looking at her wings.

He reached out to touch them lightly, to see if they were real, and they were, the feathers were soft, he took his paw back and smiled. He wished he had wings too, "How do you become a goddess? Can I get wings someday too Mana?"

He was happy though, he wondered if she would be his friend, he also wondered if her color meant something to her being a goddess, "Are you a goddess of something? Like...goddess of yellow flowers?" he asked innocently, the only things he had seen that were yellow were the sun, flowers, and his oddly colored brother.

The goddess laughed warmly. Children and their questions! It never seemed to amaze her enough about how they were always so curious on how the world worked, and it always brightened her heart.

Mana gave him a sad sigh, as if it was such a disaster that he would never obtain wings. "Actually, Hayate, you've got to be born with them." She reached over, plucked one of the smaller feathers off her wings, and let it go, letting the winds guide it down to land on top of his head.

"And me? I'm the Goddess of the Winds." She smiled, bringing a slight breeze to wind itself around the little leopon, as if to give him a warm, welcoming hug.

Hayate's expression saddened, but he wanted wings too! It wasn't fair, how come he couldn't have wings and she could. He was going to sulk until he saw one of her feather's fall on his head, he peered up at it, without moving his head then moved and tried to catch it. When he did, he held it close, and snuggled it, it was so soft.

When the wind around him moved he knew it was her, and he smiled. He padded closer to Mana and plopped in front of her on the ground and rolled on his back. Playing with the feather in his paws.

"I wish I could fly, is flying fun? What can you do with your powers Mana?" he looked up at her and smile, held onto teh feather, "Will you be my friend Mana?"

Mana smiled and nodded. "I can always be friends with you, little Hayate. Just whisper my name into the wind, and I will come to you." She brought her tail up around her side, as if inviting the little cub to come closer, if he wished so. "Just make sure that you hold onto that feather, alright? It'll help us bond together." She gave him a little wink before drawing her head back.

So he also wanted to know about flying, hmm? "Well, flying is nothing too special. It's just like how the birds fly. You can see a lot, but it's still dangerous. You should stay with your family on the ground. I'm sure they'd like that a lot more."

Hayate nodded and tried to put the feather behind one of his ears so it would stay there, but it kept falling down and he frowned, thinking 'stupid thing' in his mind, because it wouldn't stay in the place he wanted. So he held it gently in his mouth as he scooted closer to Mana, and lay by her side, resting his head on one of her paws.

"I still wish I could fly though, it would be nice to see things in a different way..." he said softly, thinking of what it must be like to soar amongst the clouds and see everything in a different perspective of most others. He curled his tail around him and snuggled up against her, he was glad Mana would be his friend.

"Will you come visit me sometimes? Even if I don't call for you Mana? I would like that," he said with a smile, peering up at her with green hues.

Mana smiled a golden smile, trying not to laugh as the little cub did his best to hold onto the feather. She wouldn't of minded if he lost the feather, but perhaps he'd hold it close. It would mean a lot to her if he did hold onto it. But a cub couldn't be held responsible to hold onto something for too long. Their attention spans were a constant battle.

She flopped her tail on his side, giving off a small sigh before continuing on. "Oh yes, I will. Don't you worry about that." She laughed, giving him a little lick on his head. "And yes, you can think of me as a friend. I'd be proud to be your friend, little Hayate."

Hayate tried to keep the squirming feather in his grasp, he tried again to tuck it behind his ear, after licking the end of it, surprisingly, it stayed there, he hoped he would never lose it. It was so pretty, just like Mana. He smiled and purred and snuggled against her side. Hayate had just made his first friend! Mana, who was a goddess, and his very first friend ever.

"I'm glad, or else I would miss you Mana..." he said softly. He was so happy he squirmed and pawed at her larger paw playfully, "What else can you do Mnaa, besides giving me a hug with wind and flying? Please tell me please?" he asked, in the cute voice of his.

Well, a little pushy, wasn't he? Mana laughed, and gave the little leopon a pat on the head. "Well...let's see...I can't show you everything just yet but...sure, we can show a little something."

She settled in, letting herself loosen up. As the wind usually based itself on the heat around itself, Mana let her coat swallow up the heat from the sun's rays, her back glittering with a golden glow. She took in a deep breath, and blew out lightly. A golden form slid out of her mouth, and danced on the breezes around itself before settling on the ground. It slithered up like a snake, looking at the two of them before it, before it widened into a blob, slowly forming into the shape of a lion. The eyes seemed to glow with a golden light. It continued to watch the two lone souls on the lands before giving off a roar, as if challenging the winds around it. In response, the wind picked up, ripping the illusion away to pieces, the wind carrying away where it would soon disappear.

Hayate giggled and batted at her paw playfully, then watched. The light, the glowingness, he could've sworn he felt heat around them as well. His tail flicked back and forth, eyes wide with anticipation. He watched her glow, shine, then produce some yellow blob thing.

It was a lion?!

Ears perked up as he stood up and went to go touch it with his paws, but it roared so he squeaked and bolted to sit at Mana's side again, curling up close to her. It roared at him! How could it do that? Then the wind picked up, ruffled his fur, he watched the lion disappear, be carried away by the wind.

"No come back!" Hayate squeaked as he tried to bolt after the image, but it was gone before he even got close enough to poke at it. His ears fell back, he was only three feet in front of Mana, his tail stopped flicking, he only wanted it to be his friend.

"I just wanted it to be my friend...but it went away..." he padded over to Mana again ane sat next to her, snuggled his side against hers and curled up close to her. "You won't be taken away by the wind too...will you Mana?"

Mana laughed, the wind dancing around them, carrying her voice off into the plains. Well, that went not quite according to plan, but it still humored the both of them.

"Perhaps he wasn't the nicest lion, though, Hayate. Think of it as the winds protecting you." She stated warmly, her tail flopping on Hayate's head. "And of course not. The Wind is my friend, and it listens to me. If you listen to it, perhaps it can be your friend, too."

Hayate peered up with her with big green eyes. So... the wind would be his friend? Well if it was Mana's friend, then it could be his friend too he thought. If Mana liked the wind, then he should to!

He wriggled and batted at her tail and giggled, standing up on his back legs to try and grab it but fell on his back and smiled. Rolling over he snuggled up against Mana again, contemplating on crawling on her back to nestle between her wings, they looked soft. Mana was warm.

Mana was his friend.
