My poor baby = my violin
Hospital = Violin repair shop
I warped the bridge stressed So now I have to get it replaced. For now, I have to play on my old student violin.
It makes my ears hurt crying
Discuss:
-Stories of your violin mishaps
-Violin maintenance and repair
-Why student violins sound so bad i.e. why the bow keeps slipping on the strings, why the same strings put on both instruments sound so different, etc.
-There are star ratings for bridges??? Will someone explain the system for that for me?

I had my Violin hung on the wall with the swamp cooler facing it for a while. gonk Dumb, I know.
Well anyway, the bridge was warped really bad and my teacher fixed it real quick at one of my lessons. It wasn't a big deal, but now I know not to keep my Violin infront of the swamp cooler or by the heater. sweatdrop

Audd I had my Violin hung on the wall with the swamp cooler facing it for a while. gonk Dumb, I know. Well anyway, the bridge was warped really bad and my teacher fixed it real quick at one of my lessons. It wasn't a big deal, but now I know not to keep my Violin infront of the swamp cooler or by the heater. sweatdrop At least it was fixable. I hope they don't put in a bad bridge T.T

I'm so happy biggrin the bridge is really important. it's what makes the whole instrument resonate instead of just the string.

at my home there's hanging a violin on the wall which is realy realy bad! mrgreen It has two strings, the bridge isn't on the right place, the stick inside the violin felt and is rolling into the violin... a very funny violin to play on if you want special effects....
