The cool feeling of the water was strange on her flesh.

It had never occurred to her, except in these fleeting moments, that she had never been submerged before. Not like this. Rained on, maybe. But never at all was it like this... It caused her skin to prickle and her eyes to water slightly. It hurt too. Each time the waves crossed gently over her leg, the salt imbedded itself into her crippled leg and old wounds.

Kilua honestly didn’t know why she was doing this. She’d heard once that some water was good for swelling- could it have been this water? She didn’t know much about the different kinds of it, so she could only hope. It certainly hurt- although it was growing less as she adjusted to the odd feeling. And she was not quite sure what else to do in that moment.

She’d arrived only a day ago from her long and hapless trek. The pale blue female had her reservations about the matter- but so far, she did not regret it. It was far too surreal from the world she had known. And so far, the residents of this land seemed good. The heir, certainly, had been eager. But as of yet, he had been her only other company on the stretch of beach.

So for the moment, Kilua decided perhaps it was best to focus on making herself presentable. Which was mostly the opposite of what she was doing. Half submerged, she seemed haggard and out of place. Her unfamiliarity with the water was quite apparent, despite the squaring in her jaw as she attempted to ignore that fact.

The heir was happily exercising his morning 'dash-away-from-mom' routine, exploring his lands. It made his heart swell with pride; All this would be his someday!

His heart leapt, however, as he saw Kilua. What was she doing?! It was too cold to be in the water, and not to mention, this is when the rays and skates liked to feed. "HEY! LADY!" he called, and started for the shore. He shuddered as his warm little paws touched the sticky, wet sand. Gyuh. Why would anybody wanna do that at this hour?

He stood, paw-deep in the water, and called out again. "Hey, what're you doing?" he asked, tilting his head a bit. "I mean, to each his own, I guess, but momma says this is when the stingrays like to come out and eat." He gave an innocent giggle; Or was it? >3>

A strange rogue had stumbled across these lands, he had just been travelling to what he had been told was called the sea. He had it seemed found it and it was as he had heard, beautiful.

The brown rogue walked along the beach before spotting a female and a cub, the two seemed to not look related which he was a little nervous about but he was a social creature and wished to talk to others.

It was the social lion in him that led him to walk over to the two, not making alot of noise but also at the same time not making himself incredibly quiet, he walked normally not wishing to scare or annoy either of the lions in front of him.

Kilua raised her head, her gentle pointed ears bowing upwards. “Hmm?” She asked sleepily. Her thoughts had quickly gotten tangled into lethargy- but seeing the young prince run up to her in such a flurry brought most of her lucid thoughts back. “Stingrays?” Kilua questioned, looking down at her half submerged body. The rest lay beached on the sand. What were they? “Is that a kind of frog?” She asked, her wide eyes blinking.

But before the cub got to answering- another figure became somewhat apparent in the distance. Another member of the pride? He showed no familiar reactions towards the heir as he approached, and somewhat protectively, Kilua forced herself up. Water and sand dribbled down from her chest, and shifting her weight to one side, she brushed herself clean.

Although it was still submerged, the female made attempts to not appear to have all her weight on one back leg. “Hello,” She spoke towards the male, looking down once at the cub.

The cub grinned at Kilua; What a dolt! Yet he went soft on her, and replied, " 'Course not! It's a fish that stings you, silly!" He gave a giggle after that, before it was stopped short.

Sikulu's dark ears perked up as they caught the sound of the rogue. He turned around, shaking his short mane out of his eyes. Cautiously, he padded over, and puffed out his chest, as if trying to look important.

"Who're you, and why have you come here?" he asked with a strong, yet painfully cute voice. This rogue lion -looked- alright, but suppose he suddenly decided to act traitorous and attack Kilua and him? He had to be on his guard...

The rogue looked at the lioness and then the cub and couldn't help but laugh at how he presented himself. He bowed his head to them both polietly and let the smile stay on his face, he saw no reason to be a thread to either of them.

"I am nothing but a stranger passing through foreign lands. My name is Hakima and I mean you no harm. I have travelled for a long while and wish for somewhere to stay." He was addressing this all to the cub as the cub seemed to act as if he owned the place.

He moved to sit down and continued to watch the cub looking up at the lioness cautiously, she seemed protective. "May I ask who you both are and where I am?" His voice was rough and deep, he wasn't young anymore.

Kilua listened to the voice, letting the roughness brush against her ears. There was always something about a masculine voice that intrigued her- or, that is, that of an older man. It was something she hadn’t grown up with, and perhaps somewhere, she was still looking for that father she never knew. She hesitated a moment when Sikulu pranced forwards defiantly. She quickly limped to catch up with him, allowing the child to be in front but making sure she seemed to loom behind him with at least some voice of caution to the stranger. She couldn’t imagine she’d be any help in defending much of anything- but, she wasn’t about to not watch out for the young prince.

But the visitor had a kind smile- the kind of smile that made her flatten her ears slightly, regretting thinking badly about the situation. She was still, far too naive to imagine that a creature with cruel intentions could smile just as nicely as one who didn’t. “This is the Bahari’moto,” Kilua explained gently. “If you’re looking to go further, I’m afraid you’ve hit a dead end Hakima.”

Her eyes light glanced down towards Sikulu, and then flecked back up. “I am Kilua.” She explained, and left Sikulu’s grand introduction to himself.

Grinning at Hakima's question, Sikulu leapt onto a nearby rock, standing atop it proudly. "You're in the B--" but the cub stopped short as Kaluae explained. Sneering at her, he continued, "My momma and daddy rule this place, and someday I'm gonna rule it! My name's Sikulu," he announced, puffing out his chest and lifting his head high.

Climbing down the rock, Sikulu looked at the rogue with fiery eyes. "So why have you come here of all places?" he asked, trying to look wise and regal at the same time. Unfortunately, it just made him look like he had a long face. "My mother and father won't take kindly to you.."

He bowed his head to the young prince and smiled at the lioness, "I mean no harm to either you or your parents. I stumbled across this place be accident." He was slightly worried, he didn't wish to leave the lands so quickly, the sea was something that one didn't see very often.

"May I ask where I may find your parents? I wish to stay for a while and if they would allow it I would help your pride as much as I could, as I said, I wish no harm." He was repeating himself but he wanted to make sure that it was clear. He smiled softly again, hoping that the young prince wouldn't be too harsh and may even give him a good word. He felt slightly bad about not speaking to the female, but he could catch her later, at least he hoped. She seemed nice.

Sikulu twitched; MORE pride members? He could barely put up with Kilua and his nanny! "Well.. maybe.. I don't know. Momma and dad are busy right now, but you can hang around here for a while. But don't think just 'cause I'm letting you stay here means I'll go soft on you!" he exclaimed, giving a sharp look to the outsider.

"An' we don't need help! We're fine! Right, Kilua?!" The juve gave the adolescent a look to her, as if to say, 'you'd better agree!'.

Kilango was nearby, watching the stranger innocently through the brush. A glare was glazed within her blood red eyes. A smirk upon her maw. She chuckled lightly to herself, oh how life was soo sweet!

She ducked down, and let out a warning growl within her vocal cords from behind the shrub. Any moment now ... ... She thrusted forward, and revealed herself through the greens. The dark blue and purple hued juvenile bared her teeth at the adult male.

" ... ... who're you?" Her eyes narrowed with each passing second, and the clock was ticking.

Kilua flattened her ears and smiled meekly as the child balked in her ear. “Well... We do get along well...” It wasn’t in her place to really say anything, so she let it drain off without continuing. Sikulu was heir, so there was no reason to not agree with him. But she certainly would not wish for his parents to be angered with her over turning away a potential member.

The arrival of the second cub brought a swell of surprise from her- and she looked around precariously to see if there was some sort of invasion going on. "Hello there-" She spoke, and glanced about.

Hakima listened and nodded, "I didn't mean to offend, I would just like to do something in return for your kindness." He smiled softly untill the voice hit him and he turned around.

He looked at the juve who was the most ridiculous colours he had ever seen on a lion, it must be cursed or something, there couldn't be any other way to explain those silly colours. He looked at Kilua and the prince and by the way Kilua acted he guessed she wasn't part of the pride so did not need to answer her rude questions. Someone needed to teach that girl some manners.

Kilango's nose flared as the group just ... stared at her. Another growl escaped her maw as she looked away in disgust. She had her reasons for coming this far, and these weird looks weren't going to keep her away.

"Stare as long as you like. I'm already aware that i'm blue, thank you." She slanted her red eyes and glared at the rouge male.
