The sunrise was a slow one, almost fleeting with how the seconds shifted by. For the past few hours, one large form wandered south away from the large looming rocks. By her paws, little forms filtered her footsteps, and behind another loomed silently and away from her knowledge. Palesa was fatigued, the winds pushing her hard through both body and soul, and already her eyes had started to fall.

Turning to her cubs, she was surprised to see Kikore falling with each step, and gently moved to lift him up.

"It is time for us to rest, little one..." A soft whisp of a mumble met his ears, and her warm brown eyes turned to look for any sort of protection from the sun. Finding some shrubs, she settled the youth down and turned to land on her own haunches to lurk and watch. Her family was more important than anything else, and so she would protect them at her own dispense until the night fell to protect them all.

It was funny how some were endlessly fated to travel and yet they didn't have the heart for it. Others never had the spirit to remain on one place and yet had to. Vian was neither of these. He wasn't like his sister, who always had to be on the move. Nor was he like the second eldest of their family who had always wanted to simply remain put. He was content on the open road, though he had to admit, he missed the days of his tightnit family sticking together.

He shifted his warm gaze to the horizon. Nothing looked familiar. And yet he wasn't surprised. Nothing had since he had left the desert. As he looked he saw a form standing near some shrubs in the distance. As he drew nearer it appeared to be a lioness. She looked a little tense and perhaps a bit tired. He tilted his head a little, keeping his approuch casual and slow, "Hello, Miss? Is everything alright?"

Keeping her eyes ahead, her vision was swimming as her mind wandered, however her form was regal and ridgid. However, as soon as a movement caught her eye, she turned her head sharply to where the blue lion walked closer, and her heart skipped a beat. Had Na actually followed her, she could only wonder for a second before shaking her head, realizing it was not her ward that sought her out. The two were not in love, not even close to be mates, but she knew he worried.

As he spoke out, her brown eyes softened, and she gave him a tight, and abit cold smile of any stranger, before settling once more upon her haunces. Hopefully, with how blended Kikore was, the stranger would not suspect a single thing.

"Greetings..." her voice held no warmth, but was still that same soft breeze that mimiced so well the winds around them. As if summoned, the breeze fluttered through her bangs as that same cold smile brushed her maw and tinted her gaze.

"Everything is quite fine, I am merely resting up for a very long and tedious journey...the winds have grown restless while I've slumbered in my pride..." Her eyes glazed with each word, as if dreaming of her past in the Pridelands while the words flowed on their own.

Vian could tell this female did not really want to converse. Whats more, she seemed nervous about something. Perhaps she feared danger during her rest. It seemed plausable, so he decided he had best reassure her that he hadn't seen anyone dangerous in the area. "If you fear you cannot rest peacefully, Miss, I assure you I have met no suspicious folk in my travels thus far," He offered a sympathetic, yet warm smile. "You should be alright here for the time being." Perhaps something else was bothering her. But she was being guarded with him, so how could he expect to read her accurately? And people were not books, so he always expected error. It was only kind to do so. People were individuals, not objects.

She tilted her head at his words, clearly confused with how he acted and what he said. Blinking though at his reassurance, her smile suddenly grew warmer as she looked to the space ahead of her. Eyes softening to a warm caramel brown, she just shook her head slowly as if to laugh, and turned back towards Vian.

"I am quite used to the life of a rogue, but alas I have something precious to protect, and thus I must sacrifice myself in turn to protect such a package. You understand, yes?" Tilting her head once more, a glint of warning crossed her gaze for a second before her smile returned.

"I say that in the most respectful way, but of course, so please don't feel offended. It is simply one of my many duties. To protect my home, and follow the winds that summon me."

A package? Vian could only assume she meant a child. And from there came his understanding and a warmth of empathy. Children were precious, more then anything else in the world. No wonder she was so defensive. To ever loose ones baby would be a bigger loss that anyone should suffer. He nodded his head, "Ah, I see. I apollogize, then. I'm sure my coming was not welcom on such an occasion, since you have much to worry about already." Not that he would think of himself as a threat. He would never hurt a young one. Never. But he knew she couldn't know this.

She continued to watch him with an unwavering gaze, blinking only but a few times dispite how much she wished to keep her eyes closed.

"You have yet to prove my theory correct, and besides...most blue lions I've met have harmed not a soul..." She laughed lightly at that personal joke, before lowering to her belly in a relaxed manor. However, she still kept her eyes on him and waited, though she showed she meant no harm and continued to show it.

"My name is Palesa, and as long as you give me no reason to distrust you, you have gained my ease, if I shall call it that...let me just say you are not quite as rogueish as I first assumed. I apoligize for my hostility."

Seeing her lay down was comforting more so then her words. He sat back on his haunches where he had stopped, leaving room between them. He offered a charming smile, "Ah, no need to apollogize, Miss. You are just being an excelent mother, if I do say so myself." He curled his tail around his feet and dipped his maw slightly in a nod, "I'm Vian. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Palesa." It seemed, if she was willing, he was ready to provide some company and a bit of conversation.

She let out another laugh at his words, before responding softly in turn, "There is no need for formalities, Vian, for I am sure I am not much elder than yourself, and of course I am from no higher standings. I would wish you saw me as an equal, just as I see any other in these lands who are deserving-"

She was cut off suddenly by the sound of movement, and her eyes snapped sharply to the brush once more.

"Kikore..." A soft sigh was sounded as a pale green male that clearly was her son yawned and crawled from his hiding spot, "You slept hardly at all, please try not to get up just yet..."

"Mother...I heard voices...who is this?" The young boy blinked his amber eyes at Vian and gave him a slight frown, confused and disoriented from his little nap.

"Forgive me, I tend to border on the polite side I suppose," he murmured before shifting his gentle eyes to the waking little one. He offered a warm, genuine smile to the youth. He had always had a rather soft spot for kids, unlike most of his brothers. Perhaps it was because he was the eldest and always saw the babies when they were young. "Hello there. I'm Vian...I was just taking a little with your mother," He said with a smile, "Though perhaps you should listen to your mother. Naps are quite a pleasent thing to recieve."

Continuing on with his slow walk, Kikore seemed to hold a very tentitive gaze, though more with childish wonder than anything else, "I've never seen many others with the same color as my father..." pausing a moment to get a slightly closer look, he just went to his mother's paws and settled there confortably.

"Mother, is it alright if I nap here for now?"

"Yes Kikore, though please do try to nap and not stay up talking to your new friend, you must conserve your energy for our travels to come..." Gently pulling him closer, she glanced back to Vian and gave him a soft smile.

"Chivilry is something that lacks in the world these days..."

Ah. Vian had noticed Palesa's comment about his coat earlier, but to also hear something similar from the child made it more noticable. So he resembled the child's father. That was quite interesting. He never would have guessed, for the child resembled his mother. "Well, I'm not sure I would go so far to say it's Chivilry, I'm no Knight," he murmured with a smile that seemed a little sad, "Though I do agree. It is a shame to see many lacking in manners these days. I will admit that my siblings are among those." Even his sister, who had been beloved by all the family hadn't had any sort of heart for manners.

"It's refreshing," Palesa finalized as soon as he was finished, her gaze softening slightly until she noted her son was still out and about. Frowning, though it was nothing harsh, she moved to bat him softly back into the bushes, her gaze leaving no room for complaints, though she knew he would do no such thing. As soon as he was hidden amongst the grasses, she left him alone giving him room to watch. She figured he would grow tired sooner or later.

"I've lived in lands where the elite all hold respect, though many are quite rude at the same time to those below. But for someone to show respect to all, to those higher and lower in standing, that is something I respect in turn."

"Well," Vian murmured, his smile a thoughtful one, "I do believe all living things deserve a certain degree of respect. I believe respect can be easily lost, but...it shouldn't have to be earned the first time." He rolled his shoulders in a small shrug, "Though that is rather idealistic, isn't it? Reality is far different." Out of all his siblings Vian was the most balanced. He had logic like Liam but wasn't ruled by it. He was understanding like Kai and Ada, but not in a farfetched way. It was a shame the family wasn't still together. They had always been strongest as a team.

She was silenced by his words, not feeling they needed any sort of response, and instead just let out a light sigh and flashed him a small smile. After awhile, however, she rolled her shoulders and decided she could add something on moreso to keep the conversation pleasent and not akward.

"You have learned a lot, that I can tell...have you always been a traveler?" Pleasent, yes, a bit akward in a sense, though she hoped he wouldn't catch on to the fact she never usually talked to others that she just met for this long of a time.
