The stars and moon hung in the night sky above as a long black Malu slipped through the darkness of the inner temple. His luminescent orange orbs scanned the areas he passed, unable to find what he was looking for. Grumbling lightly, Aion pressed on...if it was one thing his subborn nature wouldn't let him quit, not just yet. Passing by a small courtyard with only one enterance and was nearly covered with flora, Aion gave a sigh when he spotted the familliar brown figure laying amongst the dull moonlit flowers. Gazing down at the unusual grey flowers, they smarped a memory that he should be weary of them...yet decided not to heed the warning and walked over to Elu.

"You're an idiot for running off like that. Took me half of the bloody night to find you." Aion spoke as he stood before her, looking down with an unpleased look on his face. "What's the matter with you? You're better then I am, reguardless of what you say." He leant down, pressing his forehead against her's so he knew he had her attention and could look her square into her eyes. "...But it isn't about me...is it?"

Elu shrugged as he walked toward her and again when he said she was better at singing then him, "I doubt that." She was forced to look at him as he pressed his forehead against hers forcing her to look at him. She let out a heavy sigh, and nodded slightly, "Not you." she agreed but didn't say anything, laying there with her eyes a little dull from the memories pouring in. She didn't want to think of such things. It was still painful, even after they had left. Some old traditions held strong.

She let out another sigh and turned her head slightly to look down at the moonlit flowers. The moonlight softened many things that would otherwise be unfavorable to sunlight. Not all things, but most tht could be seen. Her eyes raised to the night sky. It was like a enomorous listening box. You could tell the night sky whatever you were feeling and it would listen it just wouldn't give you a solution back. She lay her hed back onto her paws again and gaze vacantly forward, unseeing.

"Why do I do this to myself..." Aion shook his head with a grumble as Elu laid her head on her paws. Laying down before her, he moved his paws over her own and nudged her muzzle up to look at him once again. "Listen, If you can look past what i've done in the past...then why can't you grant me the same pleasure? I don't what has made you so insecure about your damned voice, It could be your sister, yet do you see me giving a flying deal? No. I'm living for now, I'll never forget what has happened...I can't. I can't even believe im saying this...but....will you sing for me...just for me. Pu...puh...please?" Aion sneered slightly, having a hard time saying such a word.

Quickly putting the word behind him, his orange orb watched her carefully, almost entranced by her moonlit glow. It was strange, as his head began to feel light after each passing moment of sitting here with Elu. His body refusing to move, even if he wanted to at the moment.

Elu had only been half-listening to Aion, and what he said was completely true. What shocked her out of her reverie was his sudden use of the word "please". In all the time she had known him she hadn't heard him say such a word. He didn't seem the type to ever even think the word, let alone say it. And despite everything, it made her laugh. "...Aion!" She gasped after the fit of giggles passed, "I never thought you'd say such a word!" She gave him a small smile and sighed, "Very well, I'll sing but just for you." She let out a sigh and opened her mouth to let the words simply flow,

"...Oh, I can't forget tomorrow
when I think of all my sorrow
when I had you there but, then I let you go...
And now it's only fair that I should let you know
What you should know
I can't live, if living is without you
I can't live, can't give anymore
I can't live if live if living is without you!
I can't live, Can't give anymore~!..."

She trailed off and looked at him, half expecting him to look as if he was in pain. It would devastate her, but he had asked her, and she couldn't have refused had she wanted to. She watched intently waiting for him to comment.

Rolling his eye, he knew that such a word always caused trouble for him. Actually....he believed if memory served right that he had only said it once before. God, he was breaking all sorts of personal records since he met this annoying...yet enticing female. "Hmph. Just don't expect to hear it again." He retorted, yet calmed slightly as she actually agreed to sing for him. He braced himself for everything, and anything.

Yet...as his erlier predictions said...she was much better than he was by a long shot. Closing his eyes, he let her sweet voice overwhelm his senses as his body relaxed. No longer did he have a negative expression on his face, it was completely void...just...peaceful. When she had stopped, it took a few moments for Aion to realize, as his eyes opened slowly. Seeing her worried look, his face remained a peaceful blank as his eyes turned to the night sky above. "I think...if the stars had a voice...it would sound like yours."

She had expeted him to grimace and say it was "nice" and never ask her to sing again, she expected him to give her a scathing remark what she got made her stare at him for a whole minute before she began to blush furiously, "Ah-ah-What?" She sat up abruptly, dislodging he paws nd looked down, quite sure she was glowing red with how much heat she felt on her face, "How can you mean that?" she asked, her heart beating rapidly, "It's not good at all! No one's ever told me it was good before! Let alone..." She blushed even more and looked at him, "Are....are you kidding?" She whispered, half-terrified he was and yet half-desperate to know that he really thought that. Like the stars...

She had always been told that Malu like her couldn't sing well. It wasn't in their blood to sing well. That was for those who were colored like songbirds; for those who had the looks as well as the ability. Whenever she had tried to emulate Tara she had always been rebuffed. Only Tara was supposed to sing. Elu had to care for the younger children and carry things around. She was based of a type of herbivore that did such things so that was what she was supposed to do.

Tara and the others were to provide entertainment just as those colored like predators hunted for the packs food and protected the pack itself. No one was allowed to stray, and inter-mating between types was frowned upon though it still happened. That was how Tara, Elu and Tai were born. They had been taught early on the rules of the pack and they were not allowed to disobey.

Elu could honestly not fathom how Aion had said that. She had to be horrible, she shouldn't be able to sing in the first place! It was so confusing now...

"Listen, do you want me to lie and say you're horrible?" Aion blinked and frowned, moving a paw out to bat lightly at her nose. "I swear, sometimes you can be a deaf moron.." He shook his head before nodding. "Listen, I know what I hear, and if no one has told you that, you must have known a lot of deaf Malu. Even a complete and utter idiot can tell you're...really talented." He watched her dumbfounded look become more and more complex as the moments went by.

Yawning abruptly, Aion's eyes looked rather dull as he blinked a few times to get his mind up and running again. However, his efforts seemed to be in vain. "Are you...feeling weird too?" He asked drowsily.

Elu kept blushing as he talked but broke in with a soft, "I'm not a deaf moron!" She blinked at him as he spoke about feeling weird, she had been too wrapped up in her thoughts to realize anything else at first but her own yawn followed his.
"Yeah..." she replied, her own eyes drooping, "I wonder...why..." She found herself lying down in a type of controlled fall. Her flop of dark brown hair rippled over one of her eyes. She couldn't keep her eyes open and she didn't understand why. She had been in this little garden for a long time, why was she suddenly feeling so tired? Her day hadn't been that stressful. She struggled to move, to speak, but nothing came out; only the incredible weight of sleep. It pressed down on her until she spiraled down into the darkness of a deep sleep, enveloping her in sweet, calm sleep.

"I....Elu...?" Aion spoke slugishly, barely able to keep his eyes open as he noticed Elu slowly lay her head down and fall into a deep slumber. Feeling like he too would pass out at a moment's notice, he took the time to glare at the flowers which glowed in the moonlight. "Stupid flowers..." He mumbled before losing the battle to consiousness, laying his head down cheek to cheek with Elu before slipping away into sleep.

----------------------> Dream Sequence Begin.

It was early afternoon, yet one wouldn't have been able to tell in this part of the land. Here in the west lay a land which Malu often warned their children about...The Black forest, one which unspeakable evil and monstrosities resided. The whole forest was like a dying swamp, the ground covered in a grey mist as the trees and their leaves were black. It was a miracle things actually lived in this forsaken wasteland. Yet...the loud noises coming from a nearby thicket proved otherwise.

"I can't believe you! You're a murderer!!" One male screamed angrily, his paws against another's throat as as the one below was gasping for air as the tears ran down his face. Both were suprisingly teenagers, both black and white as their strikingly similar looks made them appear to be brothers. The one at the bottom had stripes on his forepaws, bright orange eyes and wings...this was a teenage Aion, currently withering on the ground to catch his breath his brother was taking away from him. "I didn't mean to! It was an accident! I didn't kill her!" he cried out painfully, pawing at his brother's face to try and get him off.

"Yes you did! You knew that the water had the black death in it, yet you pushed her in anyways...she was just a baby! If you really didn't mean to, you would have jumped in after her! Mother and father made you the strong one!" The other malu, also back, with white stripes on his back legs and instead of orange markings he had red ones in their place. This was Sion, as he pushed Aion's head to see the single green feather where the infant had once been before it was stuck and sucked down into the watery depths of the black water. The black death was more widely known as Tar, which was impossible to get out of once you got stuck.

Steping off his brother's neck, Sion stared down at his sobbing brother, and kicked him harshly. "You're not my brother, He's dead now." Sion hissed, before walking away into the mist. Slowly getting up as Aions till had a hard time breathing out of his bruised throat, the tears refused to cease falling from his face as he stumbled after Sion. "Sion!! Come back!!!" he called out, yet was met with only silence. He wasn't coming back...not ever.

Looking over to the lake, he walked over defeatedly and sat down at the shore, staring at the feather which was slowly sinking below the surface. His whole body began to shake as he simply allowed himself to drop to the ground in a sobbing wreak, pained and broken with each shaking breath he took. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry...it was an accident...I swear...I swear...oh god..."

Elu awoke, feeling strange. She seemed...different somehow as if she wasn't the same person. She looked around sleepily and with a jolt realized that she was different. The usual dark flop of hair over one eye was now much lighter. Her head whipped around, and she stared at the strange body she now seemed to occupy. Large white wings-as large as some of those she had seen on Tai-were at both her sides and her paws were white instead of the usual almost black. She stood shakily, eyes still wide with shock and disbelief, who was she?

Silently as if one it's own a name formed inside her mind Nikalee.

Nikalee? But isn't that the one who betrayed Aion? How could this happen? her mind shouted, and she shook her head, she must be dreaming. She had to be dreaming. But why would she be dreaming of this? Her attention was broken away from her thoughts as she heard a familiar voice and one almost familiar shouting, she watched from behind a pair of bushes as they argued and she stared in disbelief, Aion had killed an infant? How was that possible? And who was the one who had looked strikingly similar to Aion? His brother? She watched, eyes wide as she saw Aion act like he never had before. Gingerly she stepped out of the bushes, "Aion? Aion, what's wrong?" Even her voice was different, though only slightly.

It was upon hearing that light and melodious voice that Aion shot his head up and turned to look straight at Nikalee, looking as if in disbelief. "Its you..." He stood, the tears still rolling down his cheeks as his body shook..barely able to stand. "Nikalee...You saw, right? I didn't do it, It was an accident! Y-you believe me right...right??" Looking up at the dark canopy of leaves above, Aion choked back a sob before continuing.

"I couldn't save her, I was too scared, I couldn't move. The black death swallows anything that goes in, I....I'm not the strong one, Sion is! Now he's gone, he hates me...just like father. Just like mother. Why does everyone loathe me so, Nikalee....what have I done?" Unable to help himself, he stepped forth and nuzzled her cheek, resting his muzzle on her shoulderblade.

At first Elu couldn't believe what had happened and then she had seen Aion crying. That wasn't even all of it! He had moved forward, nuzzled her cheek and rested his head on her shoulder! She couldn't believe this! It was impossible! The Aion she knew would never have acted this way and now there wasn'r a shadow of a doubt this was a dream.

But even as she thought this, she found herself replying to his pleas, "I know, Aion. You couldn't stop her from doing what she did. It wasn't your fault." She automatically nuzzled him back, "You are strong Aion, just in a different way. Sion doesn't hate you, he's your brother!" She shook her head, "There's nothing you could have done, kand changing the past is impossible." She looked at him, "Aion, it'll be okay."

Slowly but surely, the young male smiled...which didn't look half bad on the youth. Taking a deep breath, he sighed, using his paw to wipe his cheeks of his tears. "Thank you, Nikalee. You've always been there...I don't know what I would ever do without you." He stepped back, looking down at the ground. "He does...we may be flesh and blood, yet ever since Mother and father expected so much out of us...he has come to hate me. I'll get over it, though."

Looking back up into her eyes, he seemed to look quite serious as a blush overcame his facial features. "Nikalee....I....I mean....I think i'm falling in love with you!" He blurted out, looking timid as he moved his muzzle foreward to kiss her cheek. His heart was pounding so loud he was almost sure she could hear it from where she stood.

Elu honestly could believe what Aion had just said. He...he said he loved her? She knew he wasn't talking to her, she knew, but she stilol found herself blushing red enough to be a glowflower. "Ah-ah, Aion!" She stared at him, her body trembling uncontrollably, "D-do you really mean it?" Her heart pounded and even though she knew it wsn't her he was talking to, it still made her heart soar with happiness, "I-I love you too." she heard herself replying in a far-off voice. She felt so happy, so...liberated. Maybe this wasn't a dream, maybe this was heaven.

"I do....I feel i've been falling since the first day we met. There isn't anyone else I wanna spend my life with, I don't think there even is anyone else." Aion smiled brightly, his tail wagging as he seemed to be overjoyed. Yet, it was short lived as a sudden voice rang in the distance.

"Aion....Aion!!!" It was then he froze, eyes widening in a mixture of fear and shock. It was his mother. Quickly glancing back, he looked then to Nikalee and used his head to push her back into the bush. "Quick, hide! Don't come out no matter what...promise me, please!" He uttered and moved back to the opening before his mother saw him. Looking into the mist, Aion bowed his head as his mother then appeared out of the shadows and mist, looking dangerous with such a deadly smirk on her muzzle. She was beautiful, in an exotic sort of way. She was much like Aion, yet she was pure black asides from her orange orbs, tipped ears and the tips of her large demonic wings. "Aion...I heard what you did from Sion." Aion shook like a leaf looking down at the ground. "Mother...I...I'm..." "Shhhh..." Fiore coo'ed, moving worth and nuzzling her son, yet that smirk did not alter. "I am proud of you, my son. You are truely becoming what you were born to be. A prince of strength.."

Aion blinked as his eyes widened, never before had his mother done something like this to him. "M...mom?" Fiore put on a fake smile, standing tall as she nodded. "Yes, that is right Aion. Your brother is merely jealous of your power, for he will never be able to acheive it like you have done today. I have never been more proud of you." Aion's eyes widened, as a smile lit on his muzzle while his tail began to wag. "Really?" "Yes, you are becoming an adult...now, come with me...We have much to talk about." she grinned, as Aion moved on ahead of her. Turning back, she looked straight into the bushes where Nikalee lay in hiding, before chuckling darkly and moving into the shadows after her son.

Moments later, on the other side of the bush, A familliar face looked at the femme with a grumble. Stalking up behind her as he stood tall, his muscular frame even noticeable in his teen years, Sion made a noise to show he was here. "You must be that female Aion is always sneaking off to see....Nikalee....am I right?" He spoke quite dully, simply watching her incase she did anything funny.
