Rotten Squirrel "What?" Phèdre looked at Keena with a frown on her face, her brow furrowed with confusion.
"Tea. T-e-a." Keena huffed and put her hands on her hips, shaking her head slightly. "I can't believe you've never had tea..." She swung the pot about, using hand gestures as she spoke and blissfully unaware of the fact that boiling water could cause a painfull scar.
Phèdre looked to the empty cup in front of her. It was dark red, purple cat-eye marks around the rim. It touched her that Keena would spend such time, just to get a custom cup for her, but... how could something made of stewed plants taste good?
Keena hopped over Phèdre's tail (long as it was, she had to curl it around the table to keep it from going out the door) and came closer, pouring the hot water into the cup.
Phèdre watched, fascinated, as the tea bag expanded, and a brownish liquid seemed to seem from the bag. She watched as Keena grabbed a string attatched to the bag and jiggled it up and down, making the brown liquid run faster. She blinked as Keena added sugar and milk, then edged the cup closer to Phèdre.
Her head shot up as a thing (no, a child) raced through the door. It seemed that a beam of light followed this glowing child, as though he were some form of sun-spawn.
"Hi Keena!" He raced over and picked up an orange cup with a little sun on it, then stood on his tiptoes and kissed Keena on the cheek. He did not even spare Phèdre a glance. He downed the tea in one gulp and then smiled joyfully, and was out before Keena could say "Hi Michael!"
Phèdre eyes the tea suspiciously, but would not seem a coward: if the little sun-beam could handle it, couldn't she?
She picked up the cup and brought it to her lips, sipping just a little.
Keena began to laugh. The face Phèdre made was priceless: her angular eyebrows shot up, her nose scrinched, and her mouth twisted slightly.
"Liquid plants taste like rotten squirrel."

Pink and White Horrors
Keena poked at Phèdre, her mouth pursed. "Wake up! Hey! Hey! Phèdre! Wake up! Hey! You! Phèdre! GET UUUUP!" She shouted, completely unaware of the fact that the snake demoness's tail had begun to curl about her waist; she was obviously awake, and simply did not want to be bothered.
Keena put her mouth close to Phèdre's ear, took a deep breath and yelled as loud as she could. "WAAAKEEE UUUUP!"
This startled poor Phèdre, and she shot bolt upright, knocking her head against Keena's as she rose.
The two rubbed their heads, one laughing and one scowling.
"What do you want?" Phèdre asked, her lips formed into a perfect pout.
"I'mma show you 'round the house." Keena grinned, the pain of her head momentarily forgotten. She grasped Phèdre's hand and pulled insistantly.
Phèdre gave another scowl before slithering out of her bed, following the badgering human.
Keena dragged her about the house, showing her every nook and cranny as well as giving 'funny' little stories about what Michael or Chi had done in each spot.
They had made it upstaird, and Keena was showing her all the rooms. She viewed it all with a sort of high-and-mighty disdain, thinking that none of the children nor Keena had enough style sense; after all, their rooms were of colors other than dark red and purple.
Keena grinned and cast a glance back to Phèdre... the same that Phèdre had seen when the human had tried to feed her that horrid 'tea.' "And this is Chi's room!" She opened the door and shoved Phèdre through, stepping in after her and closing the door. "Isn't it pretty?"
Phèdre felt like she wanted to puke.
Pink silks adorned a four-canister pearly white bed, a light pink lace cover draped over the corners. The windows were decorated with little pink flowers in vaces, the ocassional stuffed pink or purple unicorn propped against them. Stuffed animals of various sizes (though all unicorns or teddy bears) lined up around a white and pink tea table. The walls had a pink and white flowered wallpaper, and the floor was soft pink carpet.
It was hideous. Who could stand so much pink and white?
She turned and attempted to bolt out the door, slithering quickly. She tripped over Keena, who had fallen to the floor and was shaking with laughter at the look on Phèdre's face.

Early Riser
Phèdre wriggled, attempting to untangle herself from the blankets. Keena had convinced her that the night was too cold to go without cover, in the same way she had convinced Phèdre to take a bed, though the girl had failed to mention that sometimes the blankets formed a cocoon that was almost impossible to remove oneself from. She flicked her tail anxiously, her arms pushing at the tangle of silken cloth. With a shout of triumph, she had freed herself from the blanket's grasp... though the momentum had shot her over the bed. She now lay on the floor, her tail half on the bed and half curled about her. She sighed, and fixed her hair fretfully. The snake demoness regained her normal position, and slithered out of her room.
She peeked into Keena's room, where the human was barely visible underneath the mound of blankets and murmuring contently in her sleep. Phèdre snorted and withdrew her head, closing the door silently.
She peeked into Michael's room, uninhabited as always. She gazed out of a nearby window and saw the little sun-beam sprawled in the limbs of a nearby tree, basking in the glow of the morning. Another snort sent her a little further down the hall.
She slithered right past Chi's room, for the pink and fuzzy onslaught was often too much for her to handle.
Phèdre moved into the kitchen, thoughtfully putting on a pot for the Rotten Squirrel-water the others seemed so adicted to. She went out the front door, stretching her back and sighing blissfully.
Perhaps today would be the day for a little... exploration.
