My friends and my brother both really like this author's work, so I decided to give it a try and started with the Black Gryphon. I just finished it and I loved it.

If that's the first book of its series, I've definitely read it (I say this because I can't remember if I ever got around to the rest of its series). It was quite good, if I'm thinking of the right book.

Personally, my favorite book by Mercedes Lackey is Pheonix and Ashes. The Mage Winds series is a close second, though.

I haven't read any of her work, but I especially liked the novels that she did with James Mallory or whoever. The Obsidian Trilogy. I loved it. Should I read more of Lackey's work?

I personally like Joust. I haven't read any others as nobody near me has any and whenever I get to the bookstore there's always something different I want to read.

I didn't really like White Gryphon or Silver Gryphon that much. I haven't started on the rest, because the library never has them crying Uhm... have you read the five hundred kingdoms books yet? I liked them, although they could have been better. sweatdrop

I've only read the Queen's Own trilogy yet, but Joust is on my bookshelf waiting to be read. Sadly it's been there for a couple of years. sweatdrop

I just started the second book of The Last Hearald Mage saga but I put that down temporarily so I can read Deathly Hallows.

My favorite stuff by her is the SERRAted Edge books, which she co-wrote with several people. Elves on modern-day Earth! (and then she's got more from the same universe set in Elizabethian times)

That sounds facinating smile Right now though I just picked back up the second book in The Last Herald Mage trilogy since I finished Deathly Hallows recently. I'm about half way through it and still loving it.

I read most of her books that didnt come out in the last 5 years...
haven't been following as closely now.

The urban fantasy things are pretty cool. I like the bard in the city ones.

I also liked queen's own if not only for the appeal to the people that have to take care of younger kids...
