It was a cold day. And cold days were rare at this time of year. The grey klipspringer looked to the sky, to see clouds blotting out the sun.
Strange, she thought to herself, It was sunny yesterday.
Now, rain was pelting down in bucket-fulls. It had begun with a soft pitter-patter at first, and then the rain had fallen harder, until the soil was dark with the strange wet.
Sighing, Chachili shook herself to try and rid the rain from her pelt. She was drenched. If nothing interesting was going to happen, she decided that she might have to head for home.
Thunder boomed in the distance. A storm was coming.

The mainly white colored cheetah male cub was not far off trying to invade the weather small wrath. his musle turnedup trying to sniff their air but all he semlt was the rain and earth around him. He whined a little and curled into a ball. He was rather small for cub. He looked around him nervously.
Another thunder clapped this time closer as Amile jumped and yelled out in fright. "What am I gona do!!!"

Chachili turned, alerted by the sound of a young voice.
"Hmmm?" she tilted her head to one side, and trotted closer to where the voice had sounded from. It seemed like she was not the only one who was going to get stuck in the upcoming storm.
"Are you lost, or something?" Chachili asked, gruffly, as her eyes rested on a colourful looking cheetah cub nearby. She'd met a few cheetahs before, some of which had attempted to murder her, but the majority of them had been friendly. This one looked harmless... although, she couldn't be sure.
He did, however, look concerned. Chachili flinched as a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky.
"Looks like it's going to rain harder," she said, wincing as another clap of thunder rang in her ears.

He slowly turned to see the female that was talking to him.
"I...uhh..." He stoped talking and nodded softly. He seemed rather worried and with each thunderclap he jumped and semed to curl up tighter.
"I shouldn't have come out to play but there was this butterfly." He said softly as if it was the butterflys fault.
"Stupid butterfly." he said as he sniffled softly.

Chachili's eyes softened as she stared at the cheetah cub before her.
"You remind me of my own children," she said, smiling a little sadly, "Always playing around, you youngsters. Wandering away when a storm is passing through. Oh, I don't know!"
She shook her head, and then looked around her. The cheetah's mother didn't seem to be in sight.
"Is your home far from here?"

He looked around then sighed a little.
"I'm not sure." He said softly as he began to sniffle. "I miss my den with my brothers and sisters."

Chachili paused, and then sighed.
"Well, you should be able to... or did you keep your eyes on the butterfly all this time instead of keeping track of your surroundings?" she narrowed her eyes, a little irritably.
Come on, Chachili, she thought, He's only a cub. Don't be too harsh.
She shook her head, and then looked to the cheetah.
"Your name, then?" she asked, winking, "I'm Chachili. Come, now, we'll see if the rain clears up. Let's try to find your densite, shall we? Where do you live? Near the waterhole? Or in the plains? Whereabouts?"

He then looked around. "We live near the jungel...but I was so focus on getting the butterfly to show Emogean." He said cealy meaning one of his den mates.

"The jungle, huh?..." Chachili felt her stomach being filled with butterflies. There went all hope of leading the cub to his home. She'd been to the Jungle twice before. The first time, she had been struck by a lion, and managed to escape afterwards. The second time, she had befriended a lion there... but she still did feel a certain hostility towards the place, and found herself unwilling to go near it.
"Well, Amile Ga Matala," she sighed, looking into his soft green eyes, "I guess we'll have to wait for the rain to stop. It shouldn't take too long... look, the clouds are already beginning to break up."
And she was right. Sunshine broke from two clouds, and a beam of light illuminated Chachili's face. The thunder was still rumbling, but it seemed to have died down a lot, and was now only a distant growl. Chachili's eyes brightened. The sun was shining again. There was that earthly smell, of soil and fallen rain, but soon the cheetah cub would be able to find his way back to his home by following scents. When everything was dry, that was.
Chachili gave him a concerned look.
"Well, Amile Ga Matala," she said, her eyes shining, "The sun has come. You'll be able to find your way home, soon enough. Just follow that old stream over there..." she pointed her nuzzle towards a dried up riverbed, "Or, at least, where the stream used to be. It leads all the way up to the Jungle... or near enough. I'm sure you'll be able to find your family."
She winked at him, and then shook herself, so that the raindrops fell off her coat.
"Well, I'm off, then," she sighed, smiling softly, "I would stay with you, young one, but my fawns will be wondering where I am. They're like you, in a way. Young. Naive. And cute," she added, and then gave a chuckle.
"If you ever pass this way again, be sure to look for me. You bring back happy memories, you do."
And with that, Chachili left, feeling much happier than she had felt before, even with such a brief encounter.
"The storm has passed."

"Thank you very much." He said shaking off the water droplets and grooming his pelt a little. He then moved over to her bowed his head to her. He then seemed to smile as he moved closer and gave the female a quick sung.
Moments latter was down the rode already showing his colors of being a cheetah cub.
