User ImageHer tail laid limply between her dark navy hind legs as she padded lightly about in the tall grasses. The rouge lands were a strange place, and she truely didn't like it. There was just too many animals here and there. She needed to get to a land where there wasn't many others around.

Bluu walked about, her ears lowered. Her current emotions were strange to her, and it made her upset frequently. She simply continued on, whether there was another soul near her or not. She didn't want to bother with anything else, for she mostly hated them all.

User ImageTender grass made way for their intruder, helpless as they were. Although many of them were rendered lifeless after the intrusion, graced, they were, by the dark, dusked paws that touched their fragile body. The surviving stalks gazed on at where the wind blew, and saw nothing but black as deep as the night, and a pair of red that seemed to glow eternally.

The air grew chill as the black form raised its head up, nose vibrating--perceiving the immediate surroundings. A moment of hesitation came before it moved onwards, crumpling more grass in its path. Perhaps it scented something of importance...

Tail swaggering, mane ruffling in the slight wind, the black wild dog sleekly stalked in the tall grass, letting an emission of a low growl-like hum out into the crisp morning air above. Those brave enough to come to him, undaunted by his tone, may seek and find.

The blue female wild dog turned around slowly, spotting the black male about. Snorting, she just simply turned away and then continued walking along. Pausing, she looked back and looked to the other wild dog once more. He looked different, and had more than enough hair on his huge ugly head. Bluu chuckled slightly, and then her ears flung back with guilt.

Turning to face the other dog, she had a strange look on her face. "What do you want?"

Imperial red eyes glared at the disturbance within vision. Another pair of red eyes. Was it a reflection?

"Excuse me?" intoned the black of night wild dog. His eyes skimmed the form corroding his present state. The being was of a type of blue that he had never seen before, with darkened paws and tail that reminded him of the water when it is dark. An eccentric array of patterns displayed on the back and hindquarters of the being piqued the interest of the imperious canine, which prompted him to linger on for a moment longer. "Are you of any importance?" he innocently asked, a brow cocked. Tentative mouth formed a half-grin, eager for an answer, and maybe a name and rank, if luck allowed.

An impatient tail twitched sideways as the wild dog awaited his reply. He had no time for other lifeforms if they were insignificant in the world, but the one in front of him... may be of some value, considering the oddly-splayed designs and coloration. Whether or not he considered the stranger valuable was irrelevant, however, for this was the first encounter with another he had in such a long time.

She snorted angrily as he responded. "... ... You heard me." Bluu looked away, her muzzle high in the air. Her ears remained low, or atleast until the black dog spoke to her once more. Glaring back, she bared her teeth, as she observed the male more closely. "Importance? ... ... why does importance matter to you? I'm nothing more than a wanderer. Without a family, or home. Anyways, if your too regal for me, then get lost. I don't socialize with males -- or even anyone, at that. I've seen enough in my lifetime." Her nose flared, as she began padding off slightly, her tail in the air with disgust.

A loud, ringing chuckle escaped the black wild dog's maw. Oh, and it had been a while since a fiery one crossed his path. "Now now, no need for that kind of attitude." He grinned, baring his fangs in a childlike way. His tail, no longer tweaked by impatience, was now wagging playfully behind him. This meeting, he construed, would indeed be of importance, and possibly embedded into his memory in the near future. "The importance of importance to me is impertinent. Nevermind to that, anyways. I can judge for myself how much your worth is in my eyes... You are quite intrigueing."

He paused, carefully choosing his next words while going over what the female had said in his mind. "We all wander," he said, dawdling, "and we all wonder where we will wander the next time we wonder our whereabouts. But is it so weird in our society to be a wanderer? Why, a wanderer has a most precious prize: company. Their own company. No family or home can conquer the sheer joy of being alone, sometimes, as being alone means that no one is able to preside over you." His head rose, confirming a satisfied air around the wild dog--satisfaction of himself.

"And no, no--I did not mean to--excuse my behavior, and sex, if you don't associate yourself to males. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Nkosi, sovereign of all that that lies beneath my paws." He laughed. "A joke. May I ask for your title?"

Nkosi ambled quickly, getting in the female's way as soon as he saw her moving away. "Don't go so soon, and don't be so brash, blue one."

Bluu snarled with hate as the male spoke to her. "I don't have any more a reason to associate with you." She looked away, and then began padding lightly away once more. She paused, and then looked back. ... "Maybe you can help me." She glared, grinning at the black-toned male.

She turned back, and then came beside the male, rubbing her fur against his own. "You don't need my title. Come with me, aand you will see what your fate has in store for you." She slanted her eyes, and then stood infront of Nkosi.

Blatantly noticeable, it was, the hate that was infused within the female's speech. Nkosi received it in a calm manner, a brow raising instinctively. What was her problem? Ah, no matter, no matter, he would quell it soon, being the kind canine he was.

"What do you mean, my dear?" he asked in an entrancing tone. "There are all the reasons in the world to associate yourself to me, and... What's that? Of course I can." He stood tall, rigid, and proud. Boy, was he needed everywhere he went. He just couldn't find a single place where no one rejected his ruling.

The black wild dog couldn't help but feel somewhat aroused when the female rubbed against him. Skin contact was something he had forgotten about, and it brought him back to when he was in a very, very comfortable place--though the present prevented him from diving into memory lane.

"My fate?" he echoed curiously. "Well then, I guess I will have to find out what sort of destiny I'm bound to then, eh?" He chuckled. The female will just have to humour him for now. "And I will find your name out later," he winked, "I promise."

Bluu slanted her eyes and widely grinned. "My friend, theres no need to question my ideas or logic, is there? After all ... ... when I am on top of the world, i'll need a loyal mutt on my side." She chuckled lightly as she circled the fluffy male. Maybe he could be of some help, as long as he agreed.

"So, when we come to power, you'd be by my side. We just need to ... recruit others. Without others, theres no power." It was the truth, after all.

"So, are you in?" She tilted her head to the side.

Was he considered a friend now? He reflected to himself, a smirk curling on his lips. The female seemed to contain sinister thoughts in mind, though it was very curious why she seemed laden with anger and refused to make contact with him beforehand. Whatever she had in mind, there seemed to be something that Nkosi could gain from it, yes; perhaps she would lead him to her pack so he could overthrow it, or something better!

"Hm?" he commented distastefully at the notion of her being at the top, referring to him as a "loyal mutt". He wrinkled his nose in disgust, but chose to bear the insult until he found out what the female really meant. Even if she did have fancies of presiding over him, he knew he had the power in himself to conquer her. She was just a frail blue dog, after all.

"I prefer not to disclose my loyalty to others, and to be called a 'mutt', thank you," he told her in a slight teasing yet serious manner, "But what is this power you speak of? Do you have a pack? What?" He seemed confused at all the female implied, oblivious to leading anything alongside another. He would rule solely by himself, and that was that. "If you do, you must lead me to it. I haven't been in contact with others in so long, you know... I have been training on my own for many years." His voice feigned forlornness. "We must go at once!"

"No. I do not have a pack, but someday -- I could. You could help me. Together, we could search the lands and seek others of our kind. The more of us there are, the more powerful we can become. I've only seen many Wild Dogs, and yet none are together. Packs have gotten smaller, or choose to roam on their own. This is the chance to start something, to gain the power we so rightfully deserve."

She grinned widely, and then started heading off. "Then we will go, now."

Nkosi frowned. What foolishness was this female attempting to bring unto him? She had no pack, she had no company -- certainly no sense or intelligence -- what use could she be to him? He paused for a very long moment, reflecting on whether he should continue to grace the other wild dog with his attention anymore.

Since when was he on duty to service others? The way the words spilled out of the female's mouth like a plea--a desperation call clinging to him--simply did not do it for Nkosi. While he did enjoy and could get used to others begging at his feet, the fact that the one before him was placing herself at a level equal, or perhaps even daringly, above, was just... disturbing.

Nkosi knew he had to be careful in his response, else he could possibly lose an asset, no matter how insignificant, to his journey.

"True..." he started, mind still insulted at the idea that the female thought she had a right to power alongside him, "It seems, my dear, that we have a similar mission on our paws. How am I supposed to know you are trustworthy? What of your past? What of your strengths? Weaknesses? I know nothing of you save that you have no relations to anyone or anyplace, and quite frankly, you look quite frail to the eye. Should you not go look for a strong male to back up your bark? Hmm?"

He smiled charmingly, and stayed in his position. He was not one to follow commands of others, and so he wasn't tempted at all by the one of the female whose name he did not even know. And then an idea struck in his mind.

"Female, if our paths are to be entwined, I will just call you 'Blue', for that, ah, curious color of yours."

And then he got up to begin walking, humoring her, for he no longer wished to stand in unnecessary idleness.

Bluu continued walking ahead, and looked back at Nkosi. "Question my past later. For now, we band together." And so, together the went, off to wherever their adventures took them.

The female would not soon find herself barking orders at Nkosi; he had quickly caught up to her, and even stepped ahead, though he was not the one leading. He was not going to be commanded; he was the commander. However, he ignored the previous words of Blue and just simply took in her physical presence for now.

The day was growing old, but it felt like a beginning for Nkosi. And while he could not tell quite exactly what lay ahead, he had a general idea of how he'd like it... And he'd make sure things went his way; he had the power to, after all.
