{Sorry we couldn't rp them all together sooner, Swampie ; ;}  Tia yawned. She lay dozing on a flat slab of rock in the sun, flat ground and yellow grass surrounding her. The Pridelands had turned out to be all she wanted in a pride and more. She could rest assured that no harm would come to her or her cubs while she was here, even basking out in the wide open! Of course, it had taken her a little while to get used to not being afraid of being out under the wide sky, and she was still a little bit nervous about it.
Now the sleek crimson lioness yawned again, widely, and gazed lazily at her son. He was almost a replica of her coloring, but his personality couldn't be more different. Brash and headstrong, he glared daggers at a passing beetle, poking it with a paw. It closed its pincers on the cub's tender pawpad and he yelped, jumping back and shaking said paw furiously.
"It bit me, momma!" he growled, his surprise swiftly becoming anger.
"Hush," Tia commented idly, flicking an ear. "Where is your sister? Has she run off to play again? You know Aden, you could take a page out of Verdad's book. I worry about you, having no friends..."
"I have friends!" the cub retorted, glowering. It was a bold-faced lie, and he knew it. He snorted and then said gruffly, "Ill go look for Ver," and slunk towards the shade of a nearby tree. Scaling it to the first branch, he bellowed, "OY, VER. MUM'S LOOKIN' FER YOU!"

Verdad pounced at the small beetle just to see it spread it shiny wings and fly away. She giggled wildly as she chased it around the small rock she had been perched on. Bright green eyes widened at the colors on the beetles wings. Color still amazed her to no end especially a rainbow. To see the brigh colors of the world meshed tgether in such an array made her simply giddy inside. Her paw just missed the beetles small black body at the sound of her brothers voice.
"Huh?!" Her laughter grew as she bounded to her bigger brother. She crawled, with some effort, onto the rock she had been on. her tail flicked in excitment. 'Where is she Aden?" She lept from the pedestal finally spotting their suprisingly hard to find mother.
"MAMA!" She sprang towards her, a wide smile on her maw.

Aden rolled his eyes as his sister bounded towards him & Tia. "She's right over-- oh." Sighing as Ver did the usual Ver things, he clambered down from the tree branch and padded carefully to the slab of rock Tia rested on. Or HAD been resting on, until her daughter lept straight at her...
Tia opened her mouth, about to say where she was, when all of a sudden a tiny orange blur sprang towards her. "Ack!" she said, ducking her head and then recovering from the slight shock, grinning. "Hello Ver, dear. I just wanted to be sure you hadn't wandered too far," she explained, pulling her daughter towards her and giving her a brief bath.
Aden grumbled at his mother's treatment of his smaller sister. She always was the favorite! Skulking up to the rock they sat on, he frowned, then drawled, "Ver could get lost in her own den, mother." he gave them both a distainful look and turned away.
Tia ignored her son, continuing to groom Verdad. "My, somebody's grumpy today, aren't they?" she commented to the orange cub.

Verdad giggled happily as her mother groomed her. She loved getting clean. Well...mostly just so she could get dirty again but no reason to spoil her mother's hard work. Sher rested her head on Tia's equally orange paw, tail curled against her shoulder. Her greens eyes were bright as she watched her brother.
"I can't get lost in the den Aden. It's just a big hole." She laughed and batted a paw at him. "You're just grumpy."

Aden bared his tiny fangs as his sister in warning as she batted at him. "It was a joke, Ver," he said, not kindly. "It means you'restupid."
Tia frowned and reached a heavy paw down to whack Aden upside the head lightly. "Behave!" she scolded. "That's no way to speak tp your sister." Gripping Ver by the scruff of her neck, she set the smaller cub down nex to her brother. "Apologize to your sister, Aden."
The red cub scuffed a paw in the dirt, looking embarassed. Finally, without meeting Ver's eyes, he mumbled "M'sorry," gruffly, and looked away. If he wasn't already bright red, he'd be blushing at being made to apologize to his STUPID sister.

Verdad sniffed lightly. She didn't like to be called names. She looked up to her mother with eyes welling with tears. Her small body huddled against her mother. "I am NOT stupid Aden."
She squealed in her mothers jaws, horribly upset. Her brows furrowed when she was placed by her brohter. She didn't want to sit next to him. She was angry that he had called her stupid.
"Fine..."

Tia frowned at her cubs. Always fighting! Well, more like Aden was always fighting. Ver was very well-behaved, if a little bit.. dim. She was tempted to reach down and smack Aden again, but instead she simply shook her head. "Look at that, Aden, you've made her CRY. Are you proud of yourself?" She asked sternly.
Aden still looked away. He wasn't very nice to Ver, but he did love her in a sibling-y fashion, and he didn't mean to make her CRY. "M'sorry Ver, you're not stupid," he muttered grudgingly, still pawing awkwardly at the ground. "I didn't mean t'hurt your feelings..." he added, ears pinned back as though it pained him terribly to admit he'd made a mistake.

Verdad sniffed and crawled back into her mother's arms, scowling at her brother. "Well, you did." She rested her small orange head on the much larger paw of her mother. Green eyes watched Aden before she snorted at him.
"I am not stupid at all." She was dim...downright dense if you didn't know her the way her family did. "Mama. You don't think I'm stupid do you?" Her ears pressed against her head as she licked under Tia's chin.
