It was another lazy summer's day, finding the young fawn lying in the grass, basking in the sun's warmth. She had fallen asleep in the haze, having eaten to her fill for a few hours. Surely the other fawns were off learning how to box, but Tegwen already knew her fronts were to-be weapons, and she'd practice on some log when she became a doe. For now, though, she much more cared to be lazy and talk with the hinds everyday. Sneaking in to the forest wasn't her cup of tea, anyway. Besides, this way, if a buck was to walk by, she could get a lesson in the latest herd politics. Though she had a young mind, she had a thirst for the going-ons of the herd and the Lore, and she was never too busy for a quick update.

At that point in time, however, she was sound asleep, her little body rising with each breath above the green. Big white ears flicked as she dreamed, the only clue as to her exsistence, for the grass in that area was taller than her little body. The heat did that to her sometimes, made her nap. She did enjoy warmth, oh yes, that's what had brought her away from the shade without her twin to gaurd her. It was just that sometimes she became so relaxed while sun bathing she simpley nodded off, like she had today. And the hinds wouldn't disturb her.

So far, Pride had had a very uneventful day, something he disliked.
He had spent most of it wandering the edge of the forest. Pausing at the meadows to watch the young fawn practice they’re boxing, before he moved on.

He considered for a moment, of just giving up and going to sleep, in hopes that tomorrow would entertain him more. When in mid strut he saw something white just under his raised hoof. Pausing immediately he blinked down at what he recognized to be a young Fawn. Sleeping here in the forest.
Moveing his hoof away and placing it down on the ground. He lowered his head down to sniff at the youngster. Wondering if maybe she had been wounded?

Tegwen shook her little head and yawned, fighting off the dream world. She slowly came to conciousness, blinking wide and open. She was glad she had opted to sleep in the shade, for it was such a bright day. Wait a minute... She /hadn't/ slept in the shade. Why was there shade? Something was wrong! The panic stricken fawn threw up her head and collided with the Outrider's nose, which only spooked her more. She yelped and jumped to a standing position, flipping her shaking albino figure back to face her attacker. And then she stopped, recognizing the coloring of one of the most famous Outriders, Pride. She shook herself off and collected a respectufl posture before speaking. "Oh...Uhm..Sorry."

Pride jerked his head up as the younger knocked her head against his nose, shaking his head and licking at his nose, he blinked at the youngster in surprise “hey now!” he said
“No need to go breaking my nose, I’m not going to eat you”
Licking at his nose a couple of times, he eyed the Fawn as she apologized to him.
“Ok it… your little, it didn’t hurt.”
He stopped licking his nose, even though it’s still hurt quite a bit, that little one had a heard head. But he was not going to admit that he had been hurt by a fawn.
“Why aren’t you learning how to box with the other Fawns. The forest is no place for a young one like you to be alone”

Tegwen stopped a moment, trying to come up with a logical answer for not learning how to box. She looked up at the Outrider, nodding to herself. He was everything everyone had told her; tall, brilliantly colored... He even wore man's jewlery around his neck. He must be a brave soul to steal such an item. Either that or he had lost his marbles some time ago. To some her age, he might be slightly frightening. It wasn't often an Outrider came in contact with a fawn or calf, after all. They normally only met the young bucks when they were in the ranks of the Corps, and only met the does when they became hinds and were collected in harems. The little albino, however, did not fear hiearchy; she respected it.

"Well.. I don't really like the other fawns. Besides my sister, of course. I'd much rather chat with the hinds or sleep." Perhaps the statement made her sound like a lazy little thing, but at least she wasn't being something she wasn't.

Pride raised a brow at the young one. “Don’t like other fawns?”
He was not very familiar with how fawn played or acted, or what was really important for them, he left that job up to the Hind. He didn’t really remember much about being a colt either. Looking down at the small Fawn he highly doubted he was ever that small…. No, ever
“Well its important to learn how to defend yourself, and someday defend your young if you ever have to. Ah well of course, if outrider like me are around then you won’t have to, so never mind.” He chuckled a grin spreading across his face.
“But like I said, this is no place to be taking a nap, where do you live? I’ll walk you back”
He took a couple of strides toward her.

Tegwen looked up with harsh eyes at the comment, and almost said something about it. She shrugged it off quickly, giving it up as a characteristic. After all, the outriders were there to protect her. And Pride DID get his name for a reason, didn't he? She shook her little head, musing about males and their ways. "I don't really live anywhere in particular. I normally sleep near an old oak tree, though." She didn't have a mother, after all, so she didn't cuddle to a hind at night. Well...for now she didn't have a mother, at least. That could always change, couldn't it? And Dyani was such a nice hind... And Drys got along with her... Tegwen was always hopeful on these matters, after all.

“Don’t live anywhere?” he inquired, raising a suspicious brow “oh come now, surely you know where your mother is.”
He stopped advancing toward her and tilted his head to the side a bit, still standing tall as he looked down at her.
Ugh, he could be doing so much more impressive things then watching out for lost Fawns, though he would not dismiss it, it was his job to look after them. But at least they would be a little more helpful in getting home then this one is. She seemed stubborn.

Tegwen shook her head, her big ears flopping with the motion. "Don't you know? All the hinds do..." She grew silent for a moment, not quite as strong as her sister when it came to emotional matters such as this. The gossiping the hinds of the herd did had surely spilt over into the corps, for most of them knew of the odd twins. Odd, that's what they were. Colored like the night sky and the blazing sun. And their past was even stranger, with their whore mother chasing after a runaway stag... "I don't have a mother. At least...not anymore. She ran away." Somehow, the little fawn was able to deal with the fact with maturity beyond her age.

He raised a brow at the young Fawn, snorting indignantly and tossing his head “Do I look like a Hind to you?”
He stared at her for a moment after she told him that she didn’t have a mother, A Fawn without a mother… that could be very hard on the young ones, not to mention very dangerous. He was impressed, however, with how she seemed to be taking it. On the outside, at least.
“Well I’m sorry to hear that” he sighed letting his ears droop in sympathy. "Do you have another Hind that looks out for you?"

Tegwen thought for a moment, not entirely comfortabe about spilling everything out to an Outrider. She trusted them, of course, but to protect her life. Not to be a conversational piece. For some reason, though, he was almost more fun to talk to than with the hinds. Something different. "Well... Dyani sort of adopted me and Drys. She's probablly grazing somewhere. I normally just wander during the day..." She couldn't come up with a location for Dyani or Drys, as they were all wanderers in their own respects. Drys was more adventurous than Tegwen, and Dyani wasn't exactly like all the other hinds.

"alright then" Pride puffed, strutting forward and a little past the young Albino "get a move on, I'll take you to your Guardian. I can't just leave you out here by yourself now can I, its dangerous"
he raised a brow at her and nodded his head in the direction he was going.
"I nearly stepped on you you know"
he had to admit, it was a bit of a nice brake from his duties. he would at least get to see some other dear up close, rather then from afar.
he waited for the Fawn to start walking before he moved.

Shrugging a little, the fawn turned about and picked up a light trot in the direction of the herd. The truth was, she really didn't want to go back to the other hinds, even though seeing Dyani wasn't a bad thing. She had come to rather like the spacey female in their time together, and now that she had had her own twins, life was always eventful. Poor Drystan wasn't fond of the little ones, but she most certainly was. On the tought of the new fawns, she remembered that Pride had fathered a healthy lttle calf, rumored to be a speaker. "Your hind has had that calf, right? The one with the gold on his shoulder?"

Pride started after her, letting her take the lead, but with him following closely behind, he had not intended to start up a conversation, but didn't care if she was going to.
he pulled his head up a little more, puffing his chest out Proudly
"ah, so you have met Feanaro?"
he grinned and looked down at the young Fawn
"he's always with his mother, I was starting to worry that he never played with any of the other younglings"

Not wanting to put the stag's ego down a notch, if that was at all possible, she didn't mention that she had met him /with/ Hitanie. "Oh yes. He's quite handsome." She smiled politely and nodded. "And Hitanie is a very nice hind. I like her a lot." Both of these were true; she really was fond of the grey hind, and had found Feanaro to be mildly attractive at the least. He had picked up some of his father's glint, after all. Hopefully Pride's pride wasn't something that had been passed down, though.
