Do you ever cause yourself pain? Does certain pain make you feel dead or more alive? How do you relieve yourself from pain, or what do you do to make it happen?

Pain as in like possibly emotional, physically, or mentally. Do you try to strain your muscles, or do you cut? Do you try to emotionally make yourself heartsick all the time, or really happy?

Do you ever cause yourself pain? Sometimes yes. Sometimes intentional, sometimes unintentional. I think it's very difficult to avoid self-caused pain.
Does certain pain make you feel dead or more alive? Nope. It just makes me feel pain.
How do you relieve yourself from pain, or what do you do to make it happen? It depends on what kind it is. With physical pain, if it is severe I will use pain-killers, if it is mild I will tolerate it until it goes away, if it is minimal then I'll probably forget about it before it goes away.
If it's emotional pain then I'll just be patient with myself and work through it, or with it, or something.

I don't think you're crazy, I also know that you're not the only one. There are other people out there that I have heard mention it before.

Well that's good. I'm also addicted to feeling pain. I hate it and love it at the same time.

[+] Yes, well, at least my body does. Cramps painful enough for me to faint on the way to the restroom and then vomit out of my nose. : D
[+] "It just makes me feel pain." and vomiting. xD
[+] Ummm... Take enough medicine to put me into a dazed muggy consciousness, so that even though the pain is stil there, I am not fainting from it. : D
Yup that's me and pain.

Do you try to emotionally make yourself heartsick all the time, or really happy? emotional anything is welcome. physical pain sometimes helps register one's self in this world, assuming you're detached enough to need actual physical pain and/or harm your body to be.... real -i'm neither in the mood nor capable to try to explain this-, as you say. as for mental pain, i try to avoid mental activity as much as possible. mrgreen everyone imagines extreme states to force extreme emotions on themselves at one point in their lives... a family member or a close friend dead, or catastrophes.... i suppose it helps adjust the scales.

I get mental pain from school most of the time. It isn't because I'm learning, it's because it causes strain on the eyes and neck muscles which can trigger painful headaches for me. Emotionally I think I'm corrupt. I try not to make myself emotionally hurt, but when I'm writing it happens often from what's going on. Also things or people around me could upset me but I try not to make it too much of a scene. Physically I hurt myself often to make myself feel real, or to forget about my other worries. Pain is something I adore, because normally I'm all shut up, and after I cut or something of the sort I either feel better or it helps me let out tears. The thing I don't like about it is I'm addicted to it, and also the next day it's painful and sometimes annoying to cover up.

declaring that you cut in public is not the smartest thing to do, don. you're putting the people that listen in a difficult position. they cannot comment freely in public, as it is a delicate subject. and they'll be forced to either tell you it's wrong -when they might understand, or even be selfharming themselves- or keep completely quiet and not comment about it. many people harm themselves. you just don't hear/see it. the wounds heal, the scars fade into mild marks. did you just want to share it with us? or do you want to stop it and are asking for advice/support? or do you just want friends with whom you can talk freely about it?

I suppose it also depends on who is listening. I don't understand cutting completely, and I do not judge people who do cut because judgement doesn't do anything other than inflate one's own ego by using the limbs of others' suffering, in my opinion.
If someone, in person, told me they cut, I tell them that I am honored that they felt comfortable enough with me to disclose such personal information. Then I would ask them why they cut. The cutting itself is not really important, in my opinion, but what thoughts and emotions motivate it.
If you take away blades and other instruments, you are not solving the causes of cutting. You're looking only at the symptoms - something that the West is notorious for doing. It is like banning a video game because you think it causes violent behavior, rather than looking at the behavior itself and where that comes from.

I don't really want help with it, I don't think its much of a problem. I know most people try to avoid talking about it, I think it's because they're afraid of it. I brought it up because I knew people probably wouldn't be able to judge me on here, and if they did it wouldn't affect me as much as it would in person. A lot of people who know me in person don't know I cut, and so I thought I had to at least tell someone and you guys seem like a trusting lot.
