Kyo was somewhat disappointed to see so little life wandering about the HQ this day, though it was much more peaceful compared to the last visit. The english teacher had seated herself in one of the lobby's hard-back chairs to keep her awake while Xerksis was set loose before her. Of course she wasn't worried as to whether or not he'd wander off. He wouldn't, simple as that. Separation was an issue with the young Illithid as of late- a mountain that only grew a bit higher every time she tried to look around it.

Xerksis sat between his guardian's feet, one arm wrapped firmly around her ankle while the other set to work on twisting one of the dual knobs set against a board of plastic. The child was absorbed in the etch-a-sketch for the moment, content in watching as thin lines appeared from virtually nowhere. They ran chaotically across the toy without design or tact, twisting just for the sake of twisting. Really, you couldn't properly work and etch-a-sketch with one hand, but Xerk didn't seem to be having a problem with his abstract development. He wouldn't be pried from Kyo so easily, but it had still been a good try, right?

Having finally managed to finish unpacking, Eamane made her way towards the GotP headquarters in hopes of finding some more information in regards to her wispy charge. She was begining to worry about Kiran's slow development and it had nothing what so ever to with the fact she almost manged to vacume him up every time she tried to clean the house, nope nothing at all.

She pushed the door open and poked her head inside and almost turned to leave before catching sight of a woman and a young child. Smiling brightly she entered, Kiran poking out of the bag hanging from her shoulder. "Hello, I hope I'm not disturbing anything."

The dark-haired woman glanced up as a voice spoke. Sure, she had sensed Eamane coming in, but had almost assumed the woman was about to leave. Dark navy eyes blinked once up at the other, then slowly guided her eyes to the aura she could see emitting from Eamane's bag. "No... Of course not. I see you've made it to the whisping stage... Are you new?" She offered in a soft tone.

The child on the floor shifted, also acknowledging the newcomers' presences. Those oddly-shaped eyes seemed to eye Eamane boredly... yet they didn't turn away even after he'd given her a once-over.

Eamane pushed a stand of curly hair behind a pointed ear and wandered over. Still smiling, she was an overly friendly creature, the elf nodded. "Yes...he, she...it? has been a wisp for a very long time. We aren't new by any means. Kiran, " she looked down at her wand "is on the first page of the book." She glanced back up meeting Kyo's navy eyes with her own violet ones.

Her eyes drifted away and rested on the baby who was staring at her. It was a bit disconcerting to say the least. She smiled weakly, "Hello there." His appearance was a bit surprising but having lived in gaia for so many years things rarely startled her for long.

"The first?" Kyo's brows lifted in a rare display of emotion. As to Eamane's character, the woman made no judgments. She was simply there, over-friendly or not, and because she was not hostile Kyo was inclined to be polite. Not that she wouldn't be anyway. She just didn't really feel... anything besides a mild curiosity towards Kiran's wand and their guardian. "I don't recall the exact page my child was posted on, but it must have been quite a ways in... Only recently did he finally solidify." She lowered her eyes to the boy. "Xerksis, say hello."

"Uhn," The infant gave a grumpy little huff, eying Eamane as if she were about to run over and try to take his toy away. Jeez, kid... Not a moment later, the arm not hooked to Kyo jutted out towards Eamane or, to be more exact, the wand. Give!

Eamane nodded and blushed. She was afraid she may have sounded like she was bragging. "Yes, but I think I'm doing something wrong because everyone else seems to grow so much faster." She sighed and took a seat near Kyo, "Of course it could be because my family was away for a while. Maybe the wands have to be near the headquarters to change." She paused and blushed a brighter red as she realized she was rambling. "Sorry if I'm talking to much...it's a bad habit." The woman looked nice enough and she certainly didn't want to scare her away so soon.

She giggled at the little boy. "Xerksis? What a different name. Well hello then Xerksis." At his gestures she instictively put her hand onto the wand. She bit her lip uncertainly and then with a shrug handed the wand over. This boy couldn't do anymore harm than she herself had done. "Please be careful with it" she cautioned

No, not at all. Kyo was simply surprised to be meeting the first ghost to have been resurrected. Of course, there was bound to be a first of everything -she knew that- so perhaps it was the fact that this wand was still... Well, she would think no more of it. It wasn't right. She shook her head slightly, slowly. "If you were going to do something wrong, the wand would not have chosen you. All children are unique to one another, and some will take more time to develop than most. It is not always the parent's fault." She pointed out softly, her voice carrying the drowsiness of a recent sleep. A soft smile. "It's not a bad habit. Interaction is always good... One of my other sons, at times, experiences similar spats. Only... he happens to know over ten different languages and uses them all. You're... more than fine."

Xerksis grunted at her intelligibly before his stubby fingers closed around the wand. Good thing Xerk wasn't the type to stuff things into his mouth, or else poor Kiran might have met his doom then. The Mind Flayer pulled the wand towards him silently, now focusing on the wisp. Curiously, he tilted his virtually bald head forward, leaving it inside the wisp's reach knowingly. What would it do?

"Yes... I heard it in a dream." His name, that was. "When it came to bringing Xerksis to the next level of his ethereal form... Well, I believe it was after getting him a text that he may use later for his specific abilities. And... after I accepted him for what he was... I wanted him." She didn't sound ashamed at all about it. "I'm Kyo, by the way..."

Eamane nodded feeling reassured. It wasn't that she thought she was doing something wrong just a nagging idea at the back of her mind. "I suppose you're right."

Kiran floated, his vague head titled a bit curiously. He seemed to lean forward stopping just short of Xerksis' head. What a strange creature, it felt different from the one that normally carried him around. He felt a moment of panic at that but it passed. This creature almost felt more right than she did.

"A dream? I just got Kiran from a baby book, hopefully it wont mind to much. What is Xerksis if you don't mind me asking? Kiran is a Selkie" she supplied. "oh, I forgot my manners. I'm Eamane"

Even though all of the reincarnated spirits were of different races, there would probably always be that little connected that linked them all together- that magic which had pulled them out of limbo. Whatever Kiran was feeling, Xerksis most likely felt it too, a pleased little smile crawling over his features. His arm let go of Kyo for the moment, instead allowing the infant to lean one shoulder against her leg so his free hand could now harass the wisp. Not that he actually was touching it yet. It was a faded memory, being in such a state. He could touch others like him. Now the baby's first instincts were unsure. So now he held out his fingers, cupping his hand close behind Kiran but not actually touching.

"Yes..." Kyo nodded slightly, her eyes sliding halfway shut. "Well, most people do use those help books. It is a good source, and I know a few people here that have done the same. An abnormal name... just felt right. Xerksis is a Mind Flayer... it's a type of psychic race that live underground." Oh course don't include they're all squid-people, Kyo. "How nice to meet you Miss... Miss..." Her eyes drifted shut, head lolling slightly forward so her long, black hair covered her face. She was... asleep? Yes, it certainly seemed so.

Eamane frowned slightly, "i can't say I've ever heard of a mind flayer. But then I didn't know what a selkie was either at first..." Her babbling trailed off as she noticed her companions inattention. Had she fallen asleep? Eamane peered at the woman with a question expression. It certainly looked like she was asleep. A narcoleptic (sp) perhaps? The little elf fidgetted nervously unsure of what to do as she watched Xerksis playing with the wisp that would eventually be Kiran.

Kiran was uncertain of what to do, he had only been awake for a few months. Not mention a wisp didn't have much room for a developed conciousness. Instict would have to do for now. The wisp leaned forward more and hesitantly touched Xerksis' head.

Yellow eyes lacking any semblance of pupils slowly narrowed as Kiran leaned forward, eventually crossing comically as he tried to keep track of it. The ghostly hands on his cranium did not go unnoticed. In a motion of his mind that was becoming quite routine, he reached out mentally and searched for something he did not exactly know the purpose of. All the child could understand was that if the wisp had this certain mental feature, then it could be contacted. Kiran wouldn't feel anything, or shouldn't. The feature was not found, so Xerk left it be without a second thought, cooing softly at the soon-to-be selkie instead. He may not have been able to converse with Kiran, but he could certainly send him pleasant vibes; normal humans did that to others every day. The infant pushed a content, perhaps soothing feeling towards the wisp, as if attempting to assure it that its instincts were fine. The baby's hand absently moved behind Kiran, petting the air above it. Good wisp. To Eamane he passed a sort of bored look, shoving a pink tongue out at her as he'd seen a few of his housemates do. Brat. Yes, he believed this was his wand now...

Kyo continued to doze for the moment, shoulders rising and falling slightly with her sleep. Yes, she was narcoleptic, how preceptive of the elf to notice. Humans and their weaknesses, honestly... With nothing to rouse her, the Illithid's guardian would continue to sleep.

Kiran hovered, it was all he really could do. He didn't actually have a mind yet to be contacted and so Xerksis' efforts went unnoticed but subconciously he appreciated the soothing waves sent towrds him. One thing he definately did understand though was that he did dearly love the attention.

Eamane smiled in a matonly way as she watched Xerk 'play' with her wand. At least right up to the point he stuck his tongue. Now what had she done to deserve that! She frowned and snuck a glance at the sleeping Kyo. It was an uncomfortable situation but she couldn't just leave the child without supervision. Still the glint in Xerk's eye made her nervous. She reached out, "May I have my wand ack?" sheasked him quietly.

Attention it wanted, attention Xerksis was willing to give for the moment. He murmured nothings to the little wisp in the language native to all babies, watching with slowly narrowed eyes as Eamane leaned towards him. At first he didn't understand, but then the reaching hand was a well enough tip-off. Those tiny brows furrowed at her, lips pouching out as the infant gave her a long, disapproving note. Kiran's wand was drawn closer to his chest. No! This was his now! She'd given it to him!

Continuing his little mumbles, the little brat reached back with his hand that had been previously been petting Kiran and scooted farther back under Kyo's chair and out of reach. Don't worry, wispy, Xerk was going to keep you safe! Just try and reach him under this chair and see if you didn't get bitten, giant lady. He had teeth! Two of them, but still...

Eamane blinked. Apparently the child wasn't done playing....or maybe he thought he had been given the wand. Oh dear, her heart began to race as the fierce looking baby moved further away. She slid off the chair onto her knees and crawled over to Xerk. She reached under the chair where he was hiding and tried to get hold of her wand. "Please, Xerksis. I need to have Kiran back now."

Kiran floated. He felt a momentary concern at being pulled futher away from his guardian than he had since he could remember but it passed as Eamane crawled closer.
