Barton. Durem. Gaia. The whole world of Gaia, the whole story of it, is now yours to shape. This is a roleplay about you and your Gaian avatar. You can dress your Gaian avatar, or, alternatively, create an avatar to use from www.tektek.org and give it a life. Give it an age, a personality, a home.
In your first post in this thread, it may be wise to post a picture of the avatar you're using throughout the roleplay, just to make things clear. But after that, this roleplay doesn't need anything else. Nothing profile-like. Just describe it all as you post - how your avatar acts, it's age and such.
There is no particular storyline to this, either. We will shape it ourselves. Life in Gaia is full of surprises. We're bound to encounter a few.
Any questions? Feel free to PM Me, or ask them in the OOC thread, which can be found:
Here.
Please note, only small OOC is to be had in this thread. The occasional question, or telling people you have to go, etc.
Reactions to the storyline, questions, or if you generally want to chat about the roleplay, should be posted in the OOC thread.
[[...Yeah, I think I may have done a bad job at explaining this all so questions really are fine, don't be afraid to ask. xDD ]]

He sat by the fountain of Barton. Hands tapping his knees constantly, fidgeting around by the water and looking around as if in panic. The black and white bells on the teens hat shook as he fidgeted. He needed a cigarette. But no. Floob had to quit - his work, if it could even be called that, was being a performing clown. And he couldn't perform if he always messed up due to his need for nicotine. He was determined to quit. The seventeen year old was still young - he couldn't live the rest of his life constantly wasting gold on those useless sticks. He drew one of his hands along the top of the water in the fountain, trying to forget about his urge to run and buy some cigarettes. Sighing to himself, he could only manage to mutter to himself in a calm voice, "I can do this."

*that's my avatar for this RP * =) Alan walked nonchalantly through the Gaian streets. With him, he carried his skethbook, and his keen observations. Around him, resided the general population. Some dressed modestly, like himself, other's with extravagant compositions of clothing. Alan sat down on the sidewalk with a sign that said "Cheap Avi Art of Considerable Quality."

captainalan *that's my avatar for this RP * =) Alan walked nonchalantly through the Gaian streets. With him, he carried his skethbook, and his keen observations. Alan sat down on the sidewalk with a sign that said "Cheap Avi Art of Considerable Quality." ((One thing, I do believe it would just be art. We're just playing our avatars, like they're real people, not avatars, you know? ;D )) Floob stood up from the fountain, legs shaking. He needed nicotine. But he wasn't going to give up - he walked towards the Barton Boutique and tried to forget about the need for cigarettes. Opening the door to the shop, Floob was rather surprised to see Rufus the Cat, still working the till. "You're still here? When's Ian going to be back?" The jester asked, forwning slightly as Rufus shrugged in reply. Looking through the clothes racks, Floob picked out a new pair of white gloves and walked up to the counter. Paying for them and putting them in a bag, Floob started to walk out of Barton Boutique, still rather curious as to why Ian hadn't come back to run the shop.

Blinking, Alan struggled to get up from the ground. Had he fallen asleep? He stood up, somewhat disorientated. Okay, everything is back to normal. Isn't it? Alan squinted to look at his enviroment. Same thing as usual... But something is different. Alan started walking about aimlessly, trying to comprehend his situation. Each step felt different. He didn't remember doing any drugs or anything of that sort. "I'll draw something", decided Alan. "It will help me..." That didn't dispel the confusion. Alan thought about making a small line. His hand flung across the paper. "Oh dear. What has happened to me? Might as well... ...get some rest?" He went to a nearby tree and attempted to sleep.

Verde rolled the cigarette around in his fingers absently. He didn't actually smoke it, but the label at the store had said that all the ladies found it sexy. Whatever, it was good for looking like you knew what you were doing, especially if the rest of your attire made you look like an escaped clown...not that it was unusual at all for a Gaian to have red bouncy antennae sticking out of his head. In fact, Verde prided himself in having on of the more reserved wardrobes. Well, there was that time that his head had gone missing for a couple days, but that was about the limit of his extravagance. Quite conservative, considering that a girl with mechanical wings and some sort of giant yellow globe for a head was sitting next to him on the bench. Verde glanced at her and stood, adjusting his top hat. It seemed his aquaintance wasn't coming today. Shrugging, he crossed the street to look into the window of Barton Boutique. Perhaps they had some new things in stock.

Floob saw the rather oddly-dressed man looking in Barton Boutique as he left. Being a very sociable person, the black haired teen approached the man with antennae and pointed to a red jacket. "That looks like it would suit you." Said Floob in a friendly tone, turning to face the person and smile at him. Maybe talking to someone would help calm the jester down, and take his mind off of that need for a smoke.

"You think so?" Verde turned in place, imagining the jacket on him. It might go well with his antennae and belt...Satisfied, he turned to the black and white young man, smiling. "Thank you for that, I'll have to go see how much it costs. Ehm...by the way, my name is Verde, it is a pleasure to meat you Mr...?"

Star walked out of the news station. She just finished handing in a letter to the editor about how it was unfair for people to make fun of cat peoplke for having ears and a tail. Star was sick of getting her tail pulled. "If one more person pulls my tail I will curse them into next week," she muttered as dark blue sparks jumped off her wand. She found herself at the fountain in the middle of Barton town. She sat down on the edge. She didn't feel like returning to Durem for awhile. At least not till the newspaper ended up there.

Floob gave ther man a friendly smile. "You may call me Floob. As far as I know, that jacked is a nice price for how great it looks." Floob then thought back to the man's name. Verde. "Your name is odd - it doesn't sound like it's from here. Where abouts in Gaia do you live, if you do not mind me asking?"

A girl walked nervously through Barton. She giggled devlishly every once in a while. Her appearance strongly suggested that she was in disguise, hiding from someone. Honestly, she had no specific place she was going. Finally it seemed that she had given up on something. Zeyphyer ran around the fountain, laughing maniacally. She repeated the action thirteen times before abruptly stopping and looking about. Darn...I think I've blown my cover. She peered over her glasses, pulled her scarf over her mouth, pressed her nose firmly on, and sat down on the edge of the fountain, attempting to blend in. She giggled.

Verde nodded, smiling. "Durem, I just recently moved actually, from--" he paused rather abruptly, turning his head at a sharp angle in order to better view the activity he had seen out of the corner of his eye. Someone, dressed for the holidays, it seemed, was running around the central fountain while giving off an eerie sound somewhat akin to laughter. That was odd. They sat down as he watched, apparently giddy with excitement.

Zeff tapped her toes on the concrete. She tapped her knees together. She tapped her fingers on her thighs. She bobbed back and forth. She hummed. She generally made noise and moved. Zeyphyer was an odd creature. She always seemed to have had too much sugar. She was generally bouncy and noisy. Of course, there were exceptions, but those were as rare as dancing lemmings. It could still happen, but there was still the conundrum of why and how.
She looked around, trying to figure out what the colorful man was looking at. I have the same jacket back at home.... She played with her shiney red nose for a moment before wondering what the man was looking at. The same process of distraction and wonderment continued five more times. Zeff was often mistaken for some sort of loony with alzheimers and ADHD. The scary part was that she was completely sane. Legally.
Zeff stared at the concrete. She spoke finally, "Who are you?". She didn't look from the concrete. She spoke to no one in particular.

Flynn was sitting on the edge of the fountain, her coat folded and slung over one shoulder. She liked that coat. It had cost a pretty penny over at that rip-off boutique in Durem -- H.R. ruddy Wesley's -- but it had been worth it. It was a winter-weight coat, though, and the sun was warm. Warm enough that her gorram goggles were fogging up, she noted, pushing them back, onto the top of her head, like a headband. She started as a red and green blur whizzed past her, giggling like a loon, before alighting upon the fountain (at three o'clock to Flynn's twelve), fidgeting. Interesting...The clown-nosed nutter attracted her attention again, as she suddenly asked "Who are you?" Flynn started, before realising that she was talking to the two people who had just emerged from Barton Boutique, not herself.

Yun let out a large yawn from his "nest" atop the colluseum structure, perched up high in the strong breezes. He raised his arms up above his head and stretched, spreading out his wings as well, whilst the breeze tugged at his stripey blue pijamas. His hair looked as if it could do with a really good brush, a lot of it sticking up at odd angles and in weird places.
After he had finished this complicated stretching routine he scrubbed a hand across his face and launched himself off the building. Wings caught him early on and sent him sleepily down to the fountin of which he landed almost perfectly on the side of. I say "almost perfectly" for it would have been perfect if his feet had hit the stone wall surrounding the fountain and not the waters the wall about it contained.
The cold water certainly woke him up, Yun giving a sharp shriek as his feet became suddenly very cold and promptly clambered up onto the nearest thing. This nearest thing happened to be the centrepiece of the fountain. The little dragon-like boy hugged the round centrepiece and wrapped his legs as far as he could around it whilst giving a little whimper, looking down at the water with a sleepy, yet decidedly untrusting, gaze.
