Jazz walked silently through the meadow and watched as the birds flew in great numbers over head. He knew that most of them were heading to warmer places as soon the land would be covered in a blanket of white. The red stallion sighed as he walked. In the past few weeks he had met so many new soquili...well maybe just two but that was enough. He dearly missed his new friend Ever Sacrifice and wondered how she was doing. He also had a brief encounter with a long lost friend but soon she had quickly disappeared again and he had no clue if he would ever see her again. "Man, I seriously need to get some guy friends!" the stallion said aloud as he stopped walking. He really did need to meet more stallions as friends seeing as he only had maybe a few aquaintences and maybe one or two close guy friends. The red stallion just shook his head and continued to watch the birds.

"You know, it's supposed to be a sign of mental derangement to talk to yourself; should I be fleeing you about now, or are you an exception?" With a flap of powerful wings and a chuckle of amusement, Guilian dove lightly through the flock of birds, his brilliant red coat gleaming in the afterternoon sun. Call it good timing, luck, or whatever you felt like calling it, but he'd been passing by in time to catch the seemingly random statement. Normally he ignored lone stallions that were out and about, but normally lone stallions weren't muttering to themselves, either.

Regardless of anything else, he'd made his presence known; but just to be on the same side he remained in the air while waiting for an answer. One never knew what sort of strange personalities they might encounter out in the wild, after all!

Jazz jumped at the sound of a voice and powerful wings. He had figured he was alone and that no one had heard him. But of course it wasn't everyday that bright red stallions come flying at him from the sky either. "You heard?" he asked chuckling nervously."I never heard it was a sign of mental derangement if you talked to yourself. I always thought it was if you talked to yourself and then didn't get an answer back." he commented to the stallion still in the air.

Jazz looked on at the other stallion with curiosity as he had never seen a soquili fly before. Or not that he could really remember. It was indeed a very strange thing. On a side note he noticed that this flying stallion also was a bright red color as himself only a few shades brighter. He had never encountered someone so close to his same color before.

"I think if you didn't get an answer back you'd be good...it's if you get an answer and there's no one else there that you should be panicking!" At that, Guilian broke into a wide grin, chuckling at the absurdity of both the statement and the obvious shock on the other stallion's face. Honestly, he didn't know what there was to be shocked about, but maybe if he himself had been snuck on he would have thought differently? The idea that his wings were the truly surprising thing didn't even occur to him, being so used to wings and winged Soquili, so he wasn't going to be figuring out the shock there!

"But at any rate, why ARE you talking to yourself? Aloud, that is?" After pondering whether or not to land for a few more seconds, Guilian finally decided that the other stallion didn't look to be deranged or dangerous; so he gracefully fluttered down to the ground, doing a little flip for good measure. Maybe there weren't any mares around, but it never hurt to keep in practice!

"I guess it is just habit. I like to think of it as thinking out loud to myself. Sometimes if you think out loud you can tell whether your thoughts sound logical or not." Jazz explained hoping to not make himself seem any more insane than what this other stallion already was thinking.

He watched at the stallion did a flip and landed near. He couldn't help but be impressed. If he had wings he would do flips as well. He pawed at the ground a bit and flicked his tail. "So what brings you to this area?" he asked and wondered if maybe he was heading south as well as the birds since he too had wings but didn't want to ask out right and offend the other stallion.

Though he tried to give no indication of the fact, Guilian was very aware of the attention being given his wings and couldn't help but inwardly preen a bit; after all, they were a very striking feature and he counted them as a tremendous personal asset. And that wasn't even counting their flight capability! Still, he was being sociable, not being vain, so...that meant ignore the attention (as hard as that was).

Folding back his wings, Guilian regarded the other stallion for a moment, listening as Jazz spoke but also taking note of his redness and the various blue ornaments he worre. Strange combination, but obviously his companion was fond of it. Otherwise he owouldn't wear it, right?

"I suppose that's one sort of defense; I guess that I jsut fail to see why something said aloud is any more or less ridiculous to something said internally. But then, half of what I say seems to be pretty ridiculous either way, so I guess it wouldn't matter either way to me!" Winking at Jazz, Guilian wondered a bit if Jazz was an uncomfortable as he looked; hopefully a little humor would set him at ease. Though Gui personally didn't know why he's be uncomfortable; it wasn't as if there were any mares around! "And I'm here because the wind was blowing this way; I figure, if it works for leaves then why not for me?"

Raising a brow at Jazz, he moved to return the query, for politeness. "And you?"

" That's a good point. I was just wondering where ever my feet take me. Normally I end up at the river but today it was the meadow." He replied cherrfully. "I was hoping to come across a familiar face but new ones are just as good. I don't believe I caught your name. I'm Jazz." he continued as the tension eased from his body.

It really had been a long time since he had met anyone new, especially another stallion. This was certainly turning out to be a more exciting day then he had expected.

"Jazz, huh? Makes me wonder if you're a fan of music much." Chuckling, Guilian swept Jazz a bow, flipping his mane with his wing as he extended it. "I'm Guilian, but feel free to call me Guil if you're so inclined. One term's as good as another and all that whatnot." Yep, definitly a ridiculous conversation blurb; but that was his style! Slightly ridiculous, always entertaining.

"New faces are certainly a refreshing change of pace; though in my case it seems like every face I encounter is a new one. I'm new to this area; just got blown in, as it were." Smiling, Guilian straightened up, folded his wings over his back, and looked around the meadow with interest. He was being completely truthful; in fact, Jazz here was the second new Soquili he'd met outside of the group that lived at his new teepee. All these new faces were sure exciting, though!

"It is a pleasure to meet you Guil. I don't listen to much music other than when my mother would sing to me when I was young. Her indian girl, Skye, is the one who named me." Jazz explained. He never really thought much about his name, it was what Skye had given him for some reason or another.

"I've been hear awhile but there still seems to be so many others that I do not know. I am always running into new faces more than old ones! But it keeps things exciting I guess." he continued and shrugged his shoulders. His tail flicked back and forth as a cool breeze blew around them, playing with the feathers in his tail. "You could sorta say I am sort of new two. I went away wondering for awhile and just got back a few months ago. Just in time for the seasons to change."

"Ah, that makes sense. I've just heard the term before and knew it related to some sort of music, so I was curious. Though I couldn't say what sort of music it's supposed to be!" Chuckling, Guilian disregarded that topic of conversation with a shake of his head. After all, what did the definition of names really mean, down at the base level? All that mattered was that you knew what you were called so that you knew if someone was trying to get your attention.

At Jazz's comment about new faces, though, he found his grin widening even more. New faces had the potential to mean new FEMALE faces, which would be attached to new female forms...definitly a positive thing. Not that he had any complaints regarding the females he'd encountered in his past....no, he just appreciated females in general. "Excitement is a grand thing. And that in mind, you certainly picked a lovely time of year to come back to this area; the scenery is quite lovely."

"It is very nice this time of year. The leaves are all turning colors and falling from the tree. Soon the snow will begin to fall. It has to be one of my favorite times of the year." he replied and looked about. It sure was a nice time of the year. This was when the apples were right for picking and the vilagers went to harvest them. He was sure that Skye, his mothers indian girl, had a couple baskets sitting around her teepee he could munch from.

"You also choose a wonderful time to float in with the leaves. Soon the Holidays will be here and all kinda of fun things happen around then." Jazz told the other stallion.

((Sorry this is a lame post. I was ahving trouble coming up with something for him to say.))

((Don't worry about it ^^))

Well, they obviously shared a prediliction for the same time of year, though perhaps for difference reasons. Eyeing Jazz thoughtfully, Guilian speculated as to whether or not it would be possible for his companion to hide among the falling leaves. Though Jazz's coat was red, it was more of a burnished dusty red, while his own was true and intense red. No way he could hide...especially not after the snow fell. But then, why would he ever want to hide?

But now he was curious. "Fun things, eh? What sort of fun things are it that take place around the holidays here? Remember, friend, that you're talking to a new arrival in these parts."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 27, 2006 7:30 pm

Jazz thought a moment of what fun things there were to do around here. Both shared a fondness for this time of year so that was one thing he already knew about, which was looking at all the colorful leaves.

"Well, there are always races, but those can take place anytime during the year. The Kawani village always has a festival of some sort for the holidays where they play all kinds of games. Playing in the snow is also always fun. Other than that I am not really sure." he said being truthful. He never really paid much attention other than the fact that everyone was really happy and friendly during the holidays. "Mostly people are overly happy and generous during the holidays."
