Cirque du Coeur Torve Captain

 age:19
appearance: Extremely handsome, he is an easy charmer. He has messy, sandy blonde hair and bright green eyes. He usually dresses in lavish, and ridiculously over-the-top attire, though it fits in with his on-stage persona. He appears much older than he actually is.
personality: With his words as well as his looks, he easily attracts the women of the troup. However, once they learn that he (usually) has no real intention of carrying on a serious relationship with anything other than his work, the sparks tend to fade. He is extremely dedicated to everything he does in Cirque, almost to the point of madness. This makes him come off as stand-offish, or cruel, even though he hardly means anything that he says. On-stage, he is funny, and prehaps even more charming than off, and is a true entertainer. He knows what he's doing, and how to make it work.
background: Aiden comes from a large family. Very large. And with that, the family was poor. Even if his family was small, they probably wouldn't be able to support themselves. So, he took what he found was easy for him: slight of hand tricks. He'd steal food when others weren't looking, or even put on small performences that others would pay him for.
One day, he was approached by someone, speaking of putting on a circus. This person had heard of Aiden's tricks, and decided that he might be beneficial to the plan for a circus.
world and history: World Type A.

age: Unknown. Looks to be around 25.
appearance: Dahli looks to be Asian-American, with bright red, almond shaped eyes, an angular, freckled face and long, pointy ears. She usually dresses modestly, not showing any more skin that need be.
personality: Dahli likes to be around performers and hearing people's fantastic stories of their lives back home. But when the subject drifts to her own history she tends to become quiet and change the subject. Even though she is mostly open and friendly there is a mysterious air about who she really is.
background: Dahli doesn't talk much about her past, but one thing is certain, no one currently in Cirque's cast can remember when she was hired on. It seems she's always just been around.
world and history: She isn't telling... yet.

age: 19 act: magician's assistant to Kira. appearance: Scarlett appears younger than she really is with her wide eyes and rounded face. Yet, she covers up her childlike features with heavy make-up. Bright red is slathered onto Scarlett’s lips, her eyes are lined in smooth ebony, cheeks puffed with pink and her whole face is concealed with a pasty white. No one really knows what’s hidden behind her mask of makeup. Frothy blonde hair is piled upon her head as a rose adorns the space where the head meets the ear. The rose is in fact growing from within her; an unknown force had cursed her and in the end gave Scarlett rose like ‘accessories’. Scarlett’s appearance doesn’t mimic her personality. She dresses rather provocatively in clothes that have a vintage burlesque feel or in extravagant dresses. This sudden change was triggered by the sense of freedom she wished to gain.
personality: Once a girl with ideals, Scarlett now seems to hide behind a thick façade of make-up and whiskey. Even though she is bound to Cirque in the most unusual way, she can’t help but adore the life she has gained but naturally everything comes with a price. At times she misses the life she once had. Being so young when she ran away from her family, Scarlett now dwells on her actions. Scarlett always puts a smile on for the stage, which has become her greatest love of all. She gets flustered easily, which usually results in spastic moments. Like a child, she likes to get what she wants. Unfortunately, Scarlett is emotionally unstable and may try to act strong, but certain things can trigger her to tears. (Especially if it’s related to her appearance) on the other hand, Scarlett is the type of person to fight back if verbally abused. She won’t turn from the situation, but will usually end up crossing the line. world and history: World Type A – era: 1920's, Paris.
background: Scarlett’s life before cirque had been a fair one. Her family was well off living in Paris, no missing parents, and no shortage of food. She had nothing to complain about. Her room was neatly packed with mass amounts of dresses, glimmering gems, pearls and crystalline perfume bottles. She had a taste for the finer things in life. With her two siblings Madeline and Genevieve always by her side, Scarlett wasn’t exactly lonely either. Yet, she was an idealistic girl. Scarlett read about the women in America, fighting for their rights, she couldn’t help but feel envious of the courage they possessed. With this newfound feeling, the girl of 15 started to dwindle away from her family, a yearning of freedom passing over her. Scarlett sought out reform, and by her 16th birthday she was off .

age: 19
appearance: At first glance, creating a real interpretation of her is fairly hard to do. Standing at a short height of 5'2", her unruly dark chocolate hair seems fitting, yet unfitting for her somewhat childish and innocent looking face. Most would expect such an un-kept appearance from a child with no sight, but she’s aware of how she looks - and she likes it. Her most striking features would have to be her eyes. Not because they, in themselves, are striking, but the contrast between the crystalline powder blue and her chocolate mocha skin is breath taking to most. Though to others, the eerie and empty stare that lies within them causes chills to the bone. Most often than not, you’re likely to see her (not-so) little furry companion sprawled across her shoulders. This creature is an Aye-aye, and though considered cute to some, is actually a heavily feared creature to others. Her eyes are a reflective shade of red, that in the dark really appear to be more like floating cherries than something to see through. She’s covered almost entirely by dark brown fur, with the exception of her face, where lighter khaki colored short hairs dwell, and the same colored hairs that highlight the rest of her coat. The most peculiar feature to her would be the fingers that extend from her two front ‘paws’. Long and almost wire-y, they’re used mostly for gathering food or doing her favorite past time - stealing from passer-bys.
personality: Sheepish by nature, Ankita's not one to start conversations with others. Mostly because she's never really sure if there's ever anyone within speaking distance, other than Sarava, so she tends to leave conversation starting to others. This, however, is also connected to her dislike of small talk. She'll answer questions, but never expect her to ask them. She knows that small talk is just an attempt at covering any discomfort others might feel, and figures if people are really interested in some sort of relationship, they should be the ones who really do most of the work. She's heavily dependable, and tries her best to avoid appearing dependant, which time from time, can prevent her from seeking help when she needs it. Even if she lacks her vision, doesn't mean she needs to be everyone's charity case. Sweet and loyal by nature, she's by far someone worth trusting. Though the moment she feels fully comfortable, be weary, for her blunt side will appear.
Sarava, on the other hand, is the polar opposite. Her over-protective nature of her familiar, though seemingly threatening to outsiders, is well-warranted to her. On the other hand, she does make her attempts at taking advantage of Ankita’s lack of vision. Where Ankita stands morally strong, Sarava believes that it’s okay to bend the rules sometimes - mostly when she feels as though someone’s ripped them off. It should also be noted that she's quite particular of what people address her as. No, she's no squirrel, or a monkey, let alone a lemur, though her species is quite closely related to both latters. She's very much an aye-aye, and despite the detest many people hold for them, she's quite proud to be one. So lest you wish to make a new enemy, it'd be best to wait until it's slipped out exactly what she is before addressing it.
background: Born and raised in the small town of Fridot, she initially had sight. Her mother loved her dearly. And after giving birth to 3 other previous still births, she was undeniably happy to see the small preemie pull through. It wasn’t until she turned the age of lucky number 13 did her eyesight leave her. She had inherited a disease that killed her vision at an early age from her father side, but her bad luck didn’t end there. Her town was plagued by creatures, known as Aye-Aye, who were considered to be of great bad luck. It was accustomed that if you were caught interacting with one, you would no doubt be banished before letting out a begging plea. Ankita, being the nurturing girl she was, hearing the young yelps, had to follow the sound until she found the little creature hiding in a bush. Taking it in to nurture on a cool morning with expectations of finally getting a pet that she had been constantly asking from her mother, she was soon after ripped from her home by a neighbor and set out on her own… She eventually found her way to the capital of the country, Essa, and having a knack for fortune telling, began her ‘seeing’ career on the corners of the streets in the market place. She gained the nick-name of “La Petite œil”, or “Small Eye” due to her eerily good accuracy. It wasn’t until a good 3 years later that she stumbled upon the Cirque, and began to add a new page to her life.

age:appears late 30's. but in reality is about 80. appearance:
personality: Naira is (wo)man of very few words. When she does speak, her voice is rich and plush like velvet. She is wise, not in a pretentious way, but in a sense of wanting to share her common knowledge. (Naira is cirque’s own dr. phil) No doubt that she is a very soft-spoken woman, but Naira prefers to communicate with her stories rather than words. She has a great adoration for sharing her tales and she loves the community that comes with it. Seeing everyone gathered around her brings a smile to her face. There’s no fighting, just everyone trying to concentrate on that one thing. Naira loves large groups, especially kids, and the notion of one big happy family.

 age: 25
appearance: Pretty, but in sort of a dishelved way. She is very pale, and her hair is always in fat, loose curls, in a chocolate brown color that falls to her shoulders. Her blue eyes are always rimmed and smoky, while her lips are red. She always looks as though she doesn't get enough sleep. She dresses in pretty and vintage dresses, cocktail or not. Usually in an ivory color, with some sort of lace or ornate stitching on it.
Her figure leads one to believe that she is very frail, and that she needs to be taken care of. She is extremely thin, almost to the point of looking a bit unhealthy.
personality: Grete is a human contradiction. She forgets things easily. However, she is very crafty and tricky, meaning she is smarter than she lets on. Overall, she tries to be nice to everyone, but sometimes finds it difficult to do so. She finds it hard to start a conversation with someone that she hasn't met before. Grete also can seem a bit narcissistic, or like she's fishing for compliments, but this really stems from the fact that she doesn't think very highly of her self image. Despite this fact, she is very smug in her abilities, or her views on things. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, and she doesn't care what others think of her for that. She is conscerned, though, with how people view her on assumptions.
Grete has a bit of an obssession with alcohol. She isn't quite to the level of alcoholism, but she is very well near it. While this habit could get her into trouble, she is more of a silly drunk than anything. She drinks to calm her nerves, and to attempt to drown any negative feelings that she feels.
She can also be a bit jumpy, like she's always got something to hide, even when she's done something good. She is open to meeting new people, but always stands her ground until she knows someone well. Prefers the company of men over women, and has a bit of a weakness when it looks like a man could be interested in her.
background: Grete is a failure. Why? Because she's the only one that doesn't posses the skill most commonly used from where she was born. Ghost-talking, spirit-talking, communing with the dead. Well, whatever you want to call it, she doesn't have it. Her entire family tried to hide this fact when she was growing up. Otherwise, one might think she had difficulty with learning anything, which she certainly didn't. But she just couldn't do this. They tried everything: having a seance, bringing over artifacts of dead relatives, taking her to graveyards, but none of it worked.
Once she left her home world, she realized something. No one else would know the Grete didn't posses the skill. Where she found herself now, hardly anyone could do it, and those that could were declared amazing. One day, a circus pulled into town. And Grete had an idea. What if she posed as a dead-talker? A Medium? She came from a respectable family, and the world of the spirits. She also trained as an actress. She could fool them. It would be easy.
And so began her life at the Cirque du Coeur Torve.
Before all of this, though, her past is colorful. She had many lovers, and many were not good people. She left her home at the age of fourteen, with her older brother, Bernard, there to help her support her. She worked at many places, none of which held her for very long. She didn't keep in touch with anyone in her family other than Bernard, as they didn't care for Grete.
She did what she could to get food, a place to stay, and money. Most of the time, she relied on men to support her. Eventually, she got into a long-term relationship with a man named Aaron. According to Grete, he was a terrible man, and her brother helped her get out of that relationship. She's very touchy about the subject, though, and doesn't like to speak of it at all.
world and history: No one's exactly sure where she came from other than herself, but it's evidently a place where spirits are plentiful.

Kera the monkey.
appearance: A small, all black spider monkey.
personality: Kera mainly appears around the ringmaster's trailer, but she can be found anywhere roaming the circus grounds. She acts somewhat like the Cirque mascot but does not appear in shows or on stage. She doesn't like other animals and usually stays away from any circus member who has one around. She's very cute and charming as long as you give her the attention she deserves.
((Kera is played by any staff character and is refered to as an NPC.))

age: 29 (Though claims to be 26)
appearance: There’s no real denying that Kira is a striking beauty. Everything about her appearance seems to be based off of completely natural contrast. Her well defined cheek-bones, and sharp features really aid in providing an image for a Slavic princess. Her eyes, a very pale green, are almost eerie in comparison to her long dark eyelashes that frame them. Dark auburn curly locks frame her pale face, always set back into some 1940’s heroine styling, accompanied by some large Hybrid Tea Rose. A long neck attaches to broad shoulders, that well reflects her long slender legs, and what lies betwixt them is a fairly slender, but well curved physique.
personality: If she were around when Jet had released their single “Cold Hard b***h”, she’d likely to assume that it was about her. Not just because her personality fit’s the contents of the song, but because she’s just that conceited. She’s not one for making any sort of an emotional connection with people since she really views everyone that surrounds her to be some sort of a peon existing only to serve her. She takes absolute advantage of the fact that she’s quite on the tall side, and is likely to look down at you, beyond her nose, than try to make any sort of real eye level contact. To be short, any Self-oriented mental obsession existing, she most likely owns and fit’s the perfect definition of. But who would be surprised of her personality after she’s lived an almost entirely pampered life.
background: Born into 1920’s Russia, she was raised as a princess by a higher, rich upper-class family. Her highly pampered life style never stopped, even when WWII hit. Her family simply upped and stayed at one of their weekend houses in Sweden until things cooled down. Kira discovered her love for magic at a fairly early age. Her grand-father, the fuel to the fire for her interest, teaching her simple tricks at first, and as she grew older, began to learn more complex tricks, like making someone disappear, or sawing some poor victim in two. Why she really joined the Cirque is still kind of a mystery, she adored her pampered life, but perhaps it was her inner voice that fixated on proving to others that she could do things on her own that caused her to join when they appeared that fine day.
