I've have told almost all my friends that I am Bi, I just need to find a way to tell my parents.

Its really no big deal, I just need to get it out there.

Do you have a reason to believe they'll disown you?
No? Then I guess there's not much to fear..
Just say "Hi folks..... I'm bisexual"
That would probably work.

But hey! Don't listen to me.. I haven't done it myself yet sweatdrop

I have the same problem. I've told just about everyone that i'm a lesbian and it's no big deal. but i'm kinda freaked out about what'd happen if my parents knew. i have a feeling that my mom knows and in some ways it's kinda obvious i guess? once she even asked me if i was gay, but the way she said it kinda scared me. sorta like she was accusing me of being a lesbian like it's a bad thing. so now i'm not so sure she'd be as cool with it as i thought she'd be, and i don't want to tell her about it. I have no idea how my dad would act if he foundout. i used to think he'd disown me but now i'm not so sure. i've been thinking about just coming out and saying it whenever i can find some way to bring it up casually or something, but whenever i have the chance to i get way shy and nervous and end up being the one to change the subject. redface sad

I think it's always best to be open... but i cant talk i haven't told my parents. both my parents are strong catholics and my dad is especially prejudiced against homosexuality. I'm going to tell them when i'm 16 (in about a year and 3 weeks lol) good luck!

I have been out to my parents for a few good years that I am gay and they took it better than I though they would. I understand the fear and concern one may be feeling when it comes to coming out to their parents. I can say that you will be happier if you come out to your parents, but I'm not sure how they will act, because all parents are different. But despite what I may say, it is up to you to decide to tell your parents or not, just do what will make you happier over all and fight through any hardships you may encounter. You will always have friends at your side in real life and here on Gaia.

I'm still in the closet, to everyone but a few friends, and my girlfriend.

My friends and the kids/teachers at my school know, as do my siblings, but my parents still don't.

It's really a lot better when you do open up... at least that was my experience...

Although, I haven't told them I swing towards guys more than girls...

Anyway, yeah, but, my parents, or at least my mom is agnostic, so there weren't really any religious biases involved with it... both my brothers were really cool about it... one's Buddhist, which in itself should answer why he was cool with it, and the other's Deist, sort of, but, yeah, didn't mind. My dad I almost want to say is a closet Catholic in some ways, but, it seems like he doesn't care much...

A lot of my friends are cool about it, too... except one (very seriously) said I was going to hell crying but we've settled our differences with it...

I have run into some bigotry concerning orientation though sweatdrop

I think most people who associate with my regularly know at this point, since I came out in 8th grade (I'm now in 11th) and they've gotten used to the idea and leave me alone about it. That and they know I keep two practice swords in the trunk of my car, so that probably helps a bit. mrgreen

I havent told my parents that I'm bi directly.... but I have such a "close relationship" with my girlfriend (they dont know that little detail) that its hard not to figure it out.

Me and my gf actually told a family friend first. (First time coming out to someone older. Not just a friend thats our age.) This friend actually helped us meet for the first time before Thanksgiving for my gf's bday. But the family friend told her (my gf's) mom soon after. I'm surprised that she didnt completely flip. neutral

I'm still in the closet. Except for a few occasions online I don't know of many times were I told someone I knew directly about it.
