I've been playing D&D since I was 10... I'm now 22 and have pretty much DMed the whole time in at least one campaign (we usually have 3 going on at once, that way all the DMs could play a character as well, rather than DM all the time.) So i have 12 years DM experiance, and 12 years as a PC.

The Signature Reaper Wow, I didn't get into it until college because the gradeschoolers playing it were really... how do I put this.... juvenile? Agreed... when you as the DM have to repeat that "if you do that you'll die" over and over again, it becomes daunting. Also i've noticed with the younger crowd that there sessions tend to be more abstract nerdish referances than actual gameplay... If I wanted to here ANOTHER Monty Python referance, I'd watch Holy grail...

I started out at around 11 as a fighter up in a cabin with my brothers and their friends. The DM was a son of a friend of my mom's, and although he wasn't the best, he was pretty good. After that I had several games where I dmed and ran a character to "guide" the party. THat was with the kids in my neighborhood, who were all younger than me (see why guidance was needed? I was 12-13 they were YOUNGER.) Then I joined a 2nd edition adventure to which i took my friend mihran. i was a paladin and he was an evil assassin. The DM was fuming at us by the end (we were both acting very juvinile). Just recently I have stumbled upon this fine website where I began running several semi-productive games. People have praised me of being a good DM, but also reprimanded me for the places I was at fault. They also praised my world for being very comlicated and deep for a player created one. I can't agree, because that would be aloof and conceited.

Depends on the campaign. For mine, you most certainly can. But hopefully you'll end up dead. Because it's good vs. evil. But evil can win in my campaign, if the forces of good aren't as good as they thought they'd be.
