I sure did 3nodding Before I went to work. A lot of the things I voted for didn't make it. A lot of them that I voted for did.

I voted:
Governor of California - Phil Angelides (didn't win)(Arnold >.< HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE IN A DEMOCRAT STATE?)
U.S. Senate-California - Dianne Feinstein (won)
Lieutenant Governor-California - John Garamendi (won)
Secretary of State-California - Debra Bowen (won)
Controller-California - John Chiang (won)
Treasurer-California - Bill Lockyer (won)
Attorney General-California - Jerry Brown (won)
Insurance Commissioner-California - Cruz Bustamante (didn't win)

These are the things that I voted for and didn't make it. Everything else did:

Proposition 85-Parental Notification for Abortion
Proposition 86 -Tax on Cigarettes
Proposition 87 -Oil Tax / Alternative Energy Research
Proposition 90 -Government Acquisition of Private Property

I voted yesterday. First time =) Although they didn't even give me a sticker. That was very disappointing.

No one I voted for actually won. Sigh. That would be because I'm in Texas and I voted for mostly Democrats.

Major elections:

Governor - Kinky Friedman (12%; the Democrat, Bell, got 30%, but Perry won again.)
Lt. Governor - Maria Luisa Alverado (she didn't win; I think the incumbent did.)
Attorney General - David Von Os (Greg Abbot, incumbent, won.)
Senate - Barbara Ann Radnofsky (Kay Baily Hutchinson won. I hate her.)
House - Robert Ricketts (Randy Naugebauer won. I hate him, too.)

Why, Texas. Whyyyy?

I didn't.

But then, I live outside the US, and I'm too young.

I saw a photo of George W Bush and his wife apparently returning from a voting place. I never knew the president could vote! (I wonder who he voted for..)

I think even many people who do live in the US aren't aware of that. But yes, the President, as well as other other elected officials and candidates, can vote.

The only people who can't vote are convicted felons, but I'm not sure of all the details of that (as in if you can be able to vote again if you finish parole, for example, although I don't think you can).

It's possible because Arnold is a popular actor.

I didn't vote because I'm too young. Though I did go with my mother while she voted.

I'll be able to vote in '08 though 3nodding Election day '08 is the day after my 18th birthday.

IIRC if you've been convicted of a felony the right to vote is lost forever.

Make sure you get the voters registration form several months before your birthday. There is a time limit as to how many days after you register to vote that you can actually vote. I'm just looking out for your best interest ^-^ heart

I second this. You can register at 17 years and 10 months, and you have to be registered 30 days before you vote. So you want to register as soon as possible after you reach the 10-month mark. biggrin
