Full Name: Andromeda (Andy for short - mostly liked to be called this.)
Gender: Female.
Age: Child
Sexual Preference: Unknown at this point (Safe bet, hetero).
Personality: Generally, Andy is shy. Not really in that, "Oh, what a sweet child!" kind of way; it is more of an, "Oh, gods, what is she up to, now?" kind of way. She's pretty sneaky, and one never really knows where they stand as far as she is concerned. She's pretty wary of other people, and isn't one to open up right away.
She's very messy, she doesn't ever really pick up after herself. The only thing she keeps tidy and clean is herself. She isn't one of those people that makes her bed or picks clothes off of the floor. She will, however, wash her dishes or clean her bathroom. She isn't even ashamed of how her place looks, either, if she should ever have company over. It is her home, she can have it however she likes. Besides, whoever might be over doesn't live there, so they have no say in how it should look.
She's an artistic kind of girl. You are more likely to find paintings or drawings that she has done pinned up on the walls than anything else. She doesn't like to read; she chooses to create her own little worlds through her art, not take strolls through someone else's. You will usually find her with a sketchpad on her. She also likes to sew, she has a knack for it.
She's very confident, even if she is a shy person. She believes herself beautiful, and believes she is a worthy person of friendship, should she choose to allow it to happen. She doesn't, however, flaunt this. She isn't one to go around, making statements like, "I know you want me, just give in," or, "I am the sexiest woman here, you all should be talking to me!" She, generally, dislikes people like that.
Favorite Colors: Bold and dark reds, black, and silver.
Least Favorite Colors: Pink.
Favorite Foods: She doesn't really have a favorite. She is more than likely going to eat whatever is set in front of her, or whatever is around for eating.
Least Favorite Foods: Unknown at this point.
Favorite Activies: Painting and sewing.
Least Favorite Activities: Reading, anything that has to do with exercise.
Phobias: Wasps, but she tries to keep that hidden.

 - Widow spiders are the best known and largest of the Cobweb Weavers (the Black Widow comprise about six species and inhabit most of the warmer regions of the world). By Cobweb Weavers, it means just like it sounds; the Black Widow's web is both shapeless and formless, and erratic in appearance.
- Their silk is stronger than almost all other arachnids'.
- Female Black Widows hand belly-upward and rarely leave their webs.
- Black Widows are considered the most venomous spider in North America. Their venom is greater than that of a Prairie Rattlesnake (15 times as toxic), but a bite is rarely fatal to humans because they only inject a small amount of it when biting. Only the females are dangerous to humans, the males and juveniles are harmless. In fact, the female Black Widow spider is the most venomous spider in North America.
- They are shy and nocturnal in habit, and are not known to be agressive. They may, however, rush out and bite when their web is disturbed, or when they are trapped (i.e. accidentally, in clothing and shoes, etc.).
- The females may live for more than a year and a half.
- Though the female lays many eggs, rarely more than 12 Black Widows ever hatch due to baby cannibalism (translation: they eat each other while in the sacks).
- Black Widows are resistant to many insecticides.
- Generally preyed upon by Mud-Dauber wasps.
- FACT OR FICTION?: Q. Is it true that the female Black Widow kills and eats their mate? A. If you answered false, you are right. They may occasionally do so, but that is more the exception than the rule.
- FUN FACT Often, Black Widow webs are found around outdoor toilet seats, which results in bites on or around the genitalia.
- VENOM: - "The bite itself is often not painful and may go unnoticed. But the poison injected by the the Black Widow bite can cause abdominal pain similar to appendicitis as well as pain to muscles or the soles of the feet. Other symptoms include alternating salivation and dry-mouth, paralysis of the diaphragm, profuse sweating and swollen eyelids.
Persons with heart conditions or other health problems may require a hospital stay. (Heart and lung failure may result in death.) A physician can evaluate the severity of the bite, and give specific antivenin or calcium gluconate to relieve pain if necessary. Healthy people recover rapidly in two to five days.
First aid measures: Apply an ice pack over the bite location and keep the affected limb elevated to about heart level. Try to collect the spider specimen in a small jar or plastic bag for examination by a spider expert, even if you have crushed it. Treatment in a medical facility may be necessary. Call the Poison Center for additional information. Poison Centers across the country now have a new national emergency phone number - 1-800-222-1222" (Information gathered from this source: DesertUSA)
- "The venom of the black widow is a neurotoxin. It primarily causes systemic symptoms with little local damage at the bite site and no local necrosis. The venom mediates its effects through an initial release of massive amounts of acetylcholine at neuromuscular junctions. Latrotoxin is specific to nerve terminals; no direct release of transmitters from the adrenal medulla has been shown. As depolarization of the membrane occurs, a Ca++-dependent release of neurotransmitters down the concentration gradient ensues. Reuptake of the neurotransmitters appears to be blocked as well. . . .
Signs of latrodectism include salivation, lacrimation (an exess secretion of tears), diaphoresis (artificially induced, copious amounts of sweat), tremors, tachycardia (exessive, rapid heartbeat), bradycardia (slow heartbeat, usually lower than 60 beats per minute), hypertension (elevation of blood pressure, especially the diastolic pressure), shock, and coma. Slight erythema (abnormal redness of the skin), piloerection (erection of hair) locally, mild edema ("effusion of serous fluid into the interstices of cells in tissue spaces or into body cavities.") or urtication (basically, hives, lol), local perspiration, and lymphangiitis (inflammation of the lymphatic vessels) are the primary local features that may be present." (Information gathered from this source: eMedicine)
- "Symptoms: painful rigid abdomen, severe diffuse muscle pains, excessive salivation, sweating, nausea/vomiting, breathing difficulties, headaches, weakness, anxiety.
Examination may show: fang marks present (often cannot find), high blood pressure, tremor, increased salivation, difficulty breathing, may see a rash, headache, restlessness, muscle twitching, muscle cramps, rigid abdomen, abdomen is not tender (in spite of severe pain), increased sweating. In pregnant females, it may cause premature labor by increasing the contraction of the uterus." (Information gathered from this source: eCureMe
