The west side of Bronson, is the territory to the Adrik faction. It is also the seat of most political power within the city, giving it thus a more upscale and noble appeal to it. Of course, this is what one sees on the surface.

Behind the scenes, major political figures have been ghouled by one Darvien Adrik, Lord to the Adrik faction and of the local vampires in west Bronson. He holds this part of city under his thumb and vampiric powers.

Darvien Adrik stood at the window and looked out at the lights of the city. For all outward appearances he was calm and unruffled, but like the very city he claimed as his own, appearances could be decieving. Darvien was waiting for his meeting to start. And the damn vampire was late. "Damn that boy. Always trying to thwart authority and irritate me..." He slammed a hand against the window and sighed irritatedly. If only Thalia was still here. She could have dealt with him instead and it would have been much better. But no, she wasn't there and everything fell to him now. He sat down slowly and tapped his fingers waiting for him to arrive.

Xearus walked briskly picking his fangs as usual. He should of grabbed a bite to eat before this. But it was always hard enough to stomach Lord Adrik. The cheap shots the man took often made the young in body old in mind Xearus sick to his stomach. With all too much casualty he pushed open the doors. "Yeah, yeah, late. I know." Then he plopped into a chair in front of the desk in the room and propped his boots on the corner of the desk.

Darvien could not believe the boy's insolence. He narrowed his eyes at Xearus and then calmly stood up and walked around his desk, knock in his feet off. He perched on the corner and said softly, "I require your services Xearus. One of the fledglings has...er wandered off and I need you to go out and find her. Her Master can't seem to do it for whatever reason so you will be the one." He steepled his fingers together and inwardly cursed his job again. If he had to deal with vampires like Xearus everyday he swore he'd give up his power to Blackrose and just leave. He waved his hand in curt dismissal to Xearus and said, "Find her and bring her to me. That is all."

Feet thudded as heavy boots hit the ground. "So now I'm your fe-" Stop right there Xearus. He was already at odds with the lord vampire, no sense in making things worse for himself. Standing he offered a begrudged bow to Darvien. "Yes Lord Adrik, I'll bring back your fledgling." Turning on his heal with a slight billow of his trench coat he stalked out of the room and thus building, picking at his fangs again. "Some nerve...I'm above this. Just because I look like a child doesn't mean he can treat me as such..." A few more mumblings. Didn't matter to him, he had an appointment with Lynx tonight. A smirk. Heh, maybe I can lure that fledgling to Blackrose territory. She'd never make it back. Turning the corner, he headed for the east side of Bronson.

Darvien watched him go and rolled his eyes to the ceiling adn cursed. He was so sick of that snotty boy. He thought he was so powerful and really it wouldn't take much to knock him off a few notches. It would give him great pleasure too. "I think I'll do just that. A few lashes won't do the boy any harm adn it might just teach him some respect." The more he thought about it the more the idea appealed to him so he called in a fledgling and scribbled his message down then snapped the order for it to be delivered. Sitting back in his chair he leaned back and grinned. Now all he had to do was wait.

A blast of cool air condenses and forms wisps of vapor as Marx exits his refriderated room, licking his lips after a good meal. His kill for the night went exceptionally well however the victim was a bit more... clingy, then most. Marx looks at his wrinkled sleeves and pants and slightly frowns, his usually chisled face forming an unusal expression. He brushes at them trying to straighten them out but to no avail. The frown flickers again. He must not present himself as such, but there was no time for him to worry. He had dawdled long enough. He briskly walks down the corridor, his boots causing a loud echo in the empty hallway as he makes his way to Lord Adrik's office.

Darvien checked the time once again and cursed. "Damn him! He probably didn't even go get the damn fledgling. b*****d." He had his chair turned so he was facing the window and he glared out at teh winking city lights below. Where teh hell was Xearus? Couldn't even do a damn simple job. He clenched his teeth and mentally ticked off in his head the amount of punishments that would be coming to him. If Darvien didn't kill him first.

As quietly as he was back in his assassin days, he opened the door and closed it. His feet suddenly became quiet and he glided toward Lord Adrik's desk.

"Good evening Lord Adrik. I have good news for you, the mayor's son in the other city has been dealt with and the mayor himself will come soon to seek your assitance, knowing your high stature."

Marx suddenly felt a chill climb up his back, but doesn't let the shudder show. He sees the look of anger in the reflection of the window and in a cool voice asks, "What has happened my Lord?"

Darvien's jaw was clenched and he heard his loyal underling give his report. "Good job Marx. You are doing well." He took a deep breath and said, "Now I have another task for you. Go out and find the one named Xearus. The old vampire stuck in a child's body. Bring him to me." He turned around and said, "Marx, use any way possible but bring him here. Alive of course. I have a...surprise for him."

Marx was about to ask how that was possible. He had no way to track another vampire unless he had slid a tracking device into the seams of the clothing, or if he had their daily schedule, but there was anger still flickering in the Lord's eyes.

"Yes Lord Adrik, it shall be done." He bowed and after standing up replaced his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose. He quickly turned around and glided toward the door, leaving as noislessy as he came in.

As Marx walked again alone in the vast hallway he tried to think of a way to find this one named Xearus. The only description was a child. So a child entering the building must be the vampire he's looking for. But before heading down to the main floor and waiting in the lobby, he quickly stopped by a closed room and ironed his pants and jacket, still cursing the man for wrinkling them.

As Xearus neared border lines he slipped off the medallion, hiding it away. Then he burst out into an all out run to get back quicker. He'd rather take a punishment with at least the little filler blood in him.

No task for a vampire of his age at all and he was soon in front of deceptive office space, making his way inside to report to Darvien. Last person he wanted to see right now, but he knew at least he wouldn't be killed. What was his lie about the fledgling again?"

The lobby was empty and quiet, the few lights that were on gave the room a creepy glow. Marx stood there like a statue, staring at the lobby doors waiting for someone to come in. A tingling in the back of his through reminded him of his kill tonight. The taste of the greed-rich blood that he had started to make his mouth water again. But as soon as he thought of going back up to the room where he stored his meals, the doors flew open and a figure dashed in. Quickly he stepped into the figure's way.

"Master Xearus, I presume?"

Xearus stopped with a hiss, clearly he wasn't happy. But he calmed himself, he didn't have the energy for this. "Master Xearus...sounds nice doesn't it?" A scoff and a roll of eyes. "So what do you want? You're kind of in my way and I have business with Lord Adrik."

Another poke at his fangs with a finger before he set hsi hands to pockets and waited for an answer with a rather nasty look of distaste. Why was he wasting his time playing the question game again?

His formality must've been unusual to him because the attitude of the young man was arragont and that immediately started to rack on Marx's nerves, but his face showed nothing. It usually never did.

"Good, please come this way, I was ordered by Lord Adrik to fetch you at once. He does not seem pleased." He led him toward the hallway and as their feet echoed his curiosity got the better of him.

"Master Xearus, if I may ask. What did you do to anger Lord Adrik?"
