what he was trying to say was 'why would they want to jump you, you're too fat to jump over anyway'. It was a really dumb joke at my expense, which is really rude when you KNOW the person you're insulting offered to make you free art, and YOU ACCEPTED.

See, I got the joke, although I would barely call it a joke because it wasn't even slightly funny.
Saying something like "You've got the consistency of a bed" would have been funnier, and just as insulting... and I'm not even claiming that's a great joke.
I tease people a lot, and that was just pathetic. About as pathetic as my co-workers (aka friends) retorts of "Oh, well I find it hard to even imagine you as a woman." Two of them have said it, neither of them were funny.
But basically, people are stupid. You have to be able to laugh at yourself. Don't let it get to you, because there are plenty of people who would disagree, and probably be worth more of your time.
