A soft sigh was heaved from the lungs of the reddish-orange colored stallion, the flickering light of his flamed tail dimly lighting his path as he wandered across the empty fields. Golden eyes lifted to focus on the stars as he came to a gradual halt, a small, peaceful smile spreading across his features as he stood to enjoy the gentle breeze, and the feel of the cool night air.

She bounced through the grass, enjoying the cool night air. Ahhh. She had no light, moved more by instinct. Months of roaming all over the fields and forest. Her pink eyes saw better in the dark lately than the day. More clearly. The sun made her sleepy. A small glow drew her gaze, and she ground to a halt. Tentatively, she trotted closer, curious. A soquili? Did he not fear the skinwalkers finding him, late at night and so aglow? "Hello!" she called softly, announcing her presence so as not to startle him.

The stallion started abruptly as a distinctly feminine voice range in his ears, golden hues snapping open as he turned to look at the newcomer. It was undoubtedly a mare, he could see from the outline of her petite form in the darkness. A small smile adorned masculine features as he turned to face her with a polite dip of his head, pawing lightly at the cold dirt beneath his hooves. "Greetings, miss. What brings you out here so late at night?"

She smiled faintly, dipping her head in return. "Merely enjoying the stars. And I could ask the same of you?" itwas a slightly demanding inquisition, but then, courtesy had never been something Tehya worried her pretty little mane about. Her eyes raked over the stallion. He glowed like flame. It was startling.

He chuckled lightly at that, turning his head to grace her with a lopsided grin as he shifted his weight. "The same as you, I suppose. Stars can be excellent companions, at times... they always listen, they never judge, they never make excuses, and..." his eyes softened slightly as his gaze became blurry and unfocused, as if he was drifting into a memory, "...they never die."

She smiled. "I've found that too." she saw his eyes go sad, and wondered. Who had this stallion known that he had lost? She stayed quiet, enjoying the company. She didn't tend to like as many people lately.

The reddish hued stallion started lightly when he realized what he was doing, abruptly turning to face the auburn mare with a sheepish, apologetic grin adorning his features. "I'm sorry, miss, please forgive my rudeness. I tend to lose myself in moments like that... my name is Nanaki, although some of my friends prefer to call me 'Red'." He paused briefly to dip his head in a curt welcoming gesture, offering her what he hoped was another disarming smile. "And you are..?"

She smiled, glancing away. "Tehya." she said simply, firmly. "It wasn't rude, not at all. Please, don't think so." she bent her head, eyeing the dark ground. It was most certainly something, she mused, watching his tail out of the corner of her eye. Really, the glow was most interesting...
