Back To The Past

Hardly has your palm touched the door when it swings open, a powerful gust of wind bursting out to surge over the clearing. At the door, the wind slows and finally dies away, but the first gust continues to grow and spread as it escapes, finally ringing the entire mansion. Something like a peal of thunder echos through the air as the wind reaches the forest. The scene flickers, and the forests vanish, only seen as a dark smudge far to the north. In the same instant the mansion flashes as well, one moment there and the next--gone.

In it's place stands a magnificent castle, apparently newly built, though easily dating back to the Dark Ages. Towers and spires rise from the red brick structure, flags and banners depicting a variety of creatures and symbols waving from their tops. The dirt road could now be seen winding away to the north of the castle, abruptly ending some distance away where it met with a small village. A small lake, complete with a dock and pair of rowboats, had appeared to the east of the castle, sunlight glinting invitingly over the soft blue surface. Quite unexpectedly, the road snaps up, propelling anything close enough straight through the still-open doorway. Almost immediately the door slams shut, any rocks or pebbles from the road seeming to melt through the floor, leaving it as clean as before.

One looks up to a glorious entrance hall of white marble, stretching off to end at a pair of large, glass double-doors. Marble pillars line the walls on either side of the hallway, elaborately carved candles serving to light the hall. Between each pair of pillars is a white-washed doorway, which leads to who-knows-where, nearly invisible against the walls surrounding. At the end of the hallway, the double-doors open to an immense dance hall, made of the same silver-white marble as the entrance way. The back wall is almost completely composed of windows, allowing a stream of sunlight through to light the room. Candles on the pillars around the room are used to light the room at night, as well as a large glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

The rest of the castle is just as exquisite, though at the same time much simpler, composed mostly of dark, brick walls and thick, rich colored carpets, as well as silk and satin wall hangings and carved wood furniture. Certainly the home of some royal or noble. But as you look down at your clothing, you see that is what you have become...

The Basics

To put it simply: You've stepped through this door, and suddenly gone back in time hundreds of years. Role play in this area is done as if you were a noble of this time, or have simply been sucked back in time. Effects vary by people, so while some may remember only their life in the present, others will have a completely new memory composed of events from the past--or the new present. You may be whatever or whichever you wish, though remember, only nobility owned Jivvins at this time. Unless of course, it was a gift... or you stole it...

Zeejay and her new egg had been exploring about the mansion, as the girl tended to do often, when they came across the curious door. In mere moments they were standing, the egg resting in the nook of Zee's arm, in the hall of the mansion.

Looking down at herself, she was surprised to her attire had slightly changed. Her dress was even more ratty, and it was clear she had a peasants clothing, from her striped stockings, to her tattered gloves. Though, she acknowledged a comfortable feel on both her legs and in other various places-- hidden weapons.

"Well... This is peculiar," she mused, looking about. It was then the cries rang out and the sound of many footsteps came thundering torwards her.

"THERE SHE IS!" came the first cry.

"tHE GIRL WHO STOLE THE ROYAL EGG!" came another. And many more with much simlarity.

Though, Zeejay didn't need ot here anymore to understand they thought that she had stolen her egg from another. "ho'crap!" she hissed, turned tail and fled the scene.

Lenta didn't know that Fenwrit came to the Past. In fact, she probably didn't know that he was missing. Lenta was busy with her other pets.

That suited Fenwrit well.

The black mage Jivvin had been sprawled out in an alley when the ruckus began. Being a mage, he was well suited to the Medieval times that he visited often, and knew that Jivvins shouldn't be wandering freely, seeing as how they were considered magnificent pets. Therefore, with the help of others like him, he had created a simple spell of cloaking, where his tail and ears turned into ragged and cropped, ugly things, and no one touched him.

That suited Fenwrit as well.

Right, back to the ruckus. Fenwrit was usually the CAUSE of the ruckus, so this one suprised him. He peeked his head out, a grin splitting his face as he recognized the one that was the cause of this certain trouble. Zeejay.... Lenta talked about her a lot. And she had an egg! Probably from that sale that Moo had just held. As Zee darted past the alley, Fenwrit cast a spell, making a figment of Zeejay run out in front of her, while he bit down on the real one's leg and jerked her into the safety of the alley.

The second Fenwrit bit her, Zee had a blade out and pointed directly at him, in a very unnatural speed for a girl form modern times... Strange. She also hefted her small blade like she knew of how to use it, well, maybe she did... But form where? Only when she saw it was Fenwrit did the girl not kill him, she instead locked her deep red eyes in a glare and hissed. "What t'hell! You didn't have to bite me I have perfectly good hearing."

Sheathing her dagger she checked to mkae sur eher egg was fine, it was and wriggling in the current excitement. It liked the thrill of the run and was dissppointed it had ended. "You're Fenwrit rgiht?" Zee said absently as she eyed him over. "Lenta's? Hmph, nice ears. Suits you."

Fenwrit enjoyed the loud hiss that flew in his direction. He shrugged, stretching out on the hard alley ground. "So do the villagers. T'seemed like you were running for your life anyways." Then, he flashed her a grin, his canine teeth hooking over his bottom lip.

"Yah, i'm Fenwrit. And yah, i'm in the care of Lenta. Though, I should say, with all of the work she's doing, she should be in MY care." He chuckled, the sound coming out in a low hiss. He said nothing about his ears and tail. No one need know about his... more secret... spells.

Zee gave a faint nod, unlike most she did not dislike the dry cynical jivvin infront of her. Rather, Fenwrit would be good company for one such as herself. Though, she never mentioned that. "As you might have guessed I'm Zeejay. This 'ere is my new egg... Un-named un-hatched and whatnot. you could've guessed that from the look, neh?" she gave leisure to the slightly of grins, a simple curl of her thin lips.

Adjusting the way she sat, Zee crouched in a perching manner so her hidden weaponry wouldn't harm her. "I'm guessing I stumbled apon the Door of Past or whatever it's bloody called."

"Pleasure, Zeejay. And yes. This is the realm of the Door of the Past." Fenwrit murmured, casually scanning the alley for any other lifeform. There were none. This was good. No one in the Past needed to know that they were from the Present.... there could be dire consiquences from that.

Zeejay tapped her chin, eyes glazed over in thought. So... she was in the past now? Fun. Finally somewhere to use her less modern skills. And by skills she meant weaponry. And by using these 'skill's she meant well.. To put it roughly: fighting. Though not the head-to-head duels most knew of, that just wasn't Zee's style.

Not her style at all.

Though what was-- I'll let you be creative and figure out. "Ah... So, I just get here and already I'm wanted for stealing..." she paused then. "Unless..." Zee bit her bottom lip.

"Fen?" she asked the black jivvin. "You know of anyone... Erm, from wanted posters or whatnot called the 'Shade'? A bounty hunter assasin type... y'know. Medeival mafia." she added with a tad of dry humour.

"The Shade..." Fenwrit's muzzle split into an evil grin. "I know him. Personally, in fact." He paused, peering at Zeejay, his eyes narrowed. "Why do you wanna know? The Shade isn't talked about very often around these parts."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 20, 2004 5:16 pm

"Oh! You really know -him- do you?" Zee mused. "If I wasn't mistaken the shade was a girl." then she realised the enormity of this fact and groaned, plopping unto her behind. "The shade is wanted, yes?"

Zeejay eyed Fenwrit, "I can trust you to keep a large secret, correct? Cnsideirng I could give -you- away at any time." she said a bit of threat in her ormally calm voice.

"Naw, the Shade is a guy, for sure." Fenwrit bluffed. He didn't know ANYTHING about the Shade, to be truthful... but then again, Fenwrit was NEVER truthful. "Yes, the Shade is wanted. And yes, you can trust me to keep a secret." If there was one thing Fenwrit COULD do that was pure hearted, it was keeping secrets. He snorted, eyeing Zee. "You have nothing on me anyways. So, go ahead. What's the secret?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 20, 2004 5:28 pm

"I have the fact of where, or should I say when, you came form." she added with a smirk. "I have other ways aswell."

"Well... If you've payed any attention to anything about the shade, is that they have certin distingishing marks. One- red eyes. Two- black hair. three- their is a code of '3o5' on the palm of their hand, and two cat eyes on the back of the same hand." at the last words, Zee slippe doff her glove and extended her hand to Fen, palm up. On the palm were three markings a '3' 'o' and '5'. And on the flipside were two deep maroon cat eyes.

"I'd like to say the Shade is most definately -not- a man. As I am a woman. Savvy?"

Zeejay slipped her glove back on, hearing no reply from Fen she continued talking. "It'd be best for both you and me if you never told another soul of this conversation, yiss? I don't think the others would react welll to my... Proffession. Jekyll understood, but he's different."

They were on a dirt pathway, leading to the castle, and Rune stepped forward to travel upon it. He tilted his head, tasting the air with his mouth open, and closed his eyes.

He remembered the time before Espers; how the magic called to him, the creatures crying his name, begging for the Earth to be saved. He remembered the airship; how they had traveled on it, and how the breeze flowed in his hair, making everything seem right.

And then the Espers came. Glorious beings, drifting from another world through a portal in the air, floating down... and causing mayhem.

They were confused. Alone. Being captured... but by what, he didn't know.

Well hidden under Rune's hat, Kefka basked in memories. Memories of a forgotten time, when he had once ruled the world, using his magic and manipulative intellect.

When he had been an absolute, all powerful GOD.

However, the memories didn't stay for long, but they still lingered on his mind, and he lay under Rune's hat, fuming at his loss of power.

But now... all that would change, with both Rune and Aerith's help. Oh yes... he would be powerful, even if it wasn't his own magic.

But the memories didn't cease for Rune. He took a few more steps and fell, unable to stand back up.

"Aerith... Aer... they're too much... the memories..."

Kefka froze.

Aerith was being hit by her own memories. She was...human? But she wasn't...She felt the presence of a man, who she deeply felt for...she was praying...and then...a sword? Real Aerith felt her own legs weakening. Her head was spinning.

There was a sword through her middle, and she felt it as it was withdrawn. Someone caught her, and held her closely, crying over her. She felt her body being laid into the water...and a dark evil presence that haunted her death...

And yet...there was a sense of...peace. She had been praying when she died, and she released some sort of...magic...She felt the good that flowed from the spirit she had set out...it saved the world...

Reality snapped back and hit her like a punch in the face. She bent her knees, but held her stance, taking a couple deep breathes. Her memory rush was over...and she was still alive...but she felt like she wasn't. Aerith stood up, wiping her face with her tail. She glanced over to Rune and found him on the ground. "Rune!" she said, and stepped over, sitting down beside him, looking at him with concern. "Are you alright?!"
