This is a discussion for those of us who've kept up with the manga, or are far enough in the manga to understand it.

What do you see happening in the future of the series dealing with Sasuke and/or Kakashi? What do you see happening NOW?

Everyone (or MOSTLY everyone) is hoping that Team 7 will be able to bring Sasuke back home.

So if/when he DOES come home, what will happen? Will Kakashi continue to be Sasuke's father figure and teach him? Or something else?

After all, Sasuke seems to still remember Kakashi: during the Team 7 reunion (Note that Kakashi was NOT there.), Sasuke actually takes the time to ask if Kakashi was there with the group.

And Kakashi is bent on training Naruto so that he will have a chance to fight Sasuke next time. Is he just helping Naruto save his promise to Sakura, or is he doing it in hopes that Sasuke will return, because Sasuke was his favorite in the past?

Or both?

You can discuss now. <3 Yay!

First answerer-er! xD

I think Sasuke will definitely come back. I'm just worried about his physicial state when he does seeing as how he'll have undoubtably gotten in a fight with Oro or Itachi- or both, for that matter! His state at that moment is a big factor in the welcoming party he receives.

I think he'll be injured when he comes back and everyone will probably be a bit discouraged to accept his again, but he'll primarily be welcomed back with open arms...by Sakura at least. xD

Realistically speaking, I can see more of a SasuSaku relationship coming of this and intense training and father/brother relationships becoming a main thing for Sasuke and Kakashi. It is a shounen manga of course, so throwing in a little yaoi might...scare some readers to say the least. That's not to say that I wouldn't enjoy even the slightest bit of yaoi in there! xD Hell, use as much as Kishi wants! It'd be nice to see such a twist, but...SasuSaku!!! gonk heart

This is a sad ending I came up with. Someone told me Sasuke dies from using the Fireball Jutsu improperly. (since the chakra is disributed into the lungs for said jutsu, it could be dangerous.) She was probably just messing with me, but I based an 'ending' to KakaSasu off of it. ;_;

Alright, so first I think, if that were to really happen, Sasuke would say something along the lines of "I'm no Itachi." as he fell over, since that's what his father said when he first tried the jutsu. And hopefully, he'd whisper some kind of appology to Naruto. (since I'm asuming that's who he would be fighting)
Naruto would carry him back to Konoha, where Kakashi would be walking on a road they were taking. At first he'd be a little excited, but as soon as he doesn't sense Sasuke's chakra, he knows what's wrong, and why Naruto and the others look so sad.
I think Kakashi would use that self-sacrificing jutsu on him. (the one that the old lady used on Gaara) And the last thing Sasuke would see would be Kakashi smiling. (maybe he'd even take his mask off. ^0^)
Last, I think at the funeral, Sasuke wouldn't accept that Kakashi has died, and would be crying out saying something like "You can't bury him, he'll wake up soon!"

Well, that's really a depressing ending idea. 0.o;

Kakashi could have done this out of the love of a father or something else. Either way, it seems like it'd be really sweet.

ranningu: SasuSaku! <3 I'm not sure if adding yaoi to the series would make me excited. D: But I think that your ending makes a lot of sense. xD <3

1024yyim: ;-; OMG, that is really sad. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that, though I'd be upset that Kakashi died. ;-;

I love these discussions. So much...

Firstly, I think the Team Seven [The Rookie 9 and Co] Will bring Sasuke back. The theme of the show is reaching goals. And Duh, Sasuke is a goal. Plus the Arc is called "The Sasuke Retrieval Arc" Kishimoto wouldnt have them all get so fired up just for Naruto to fail misserably. Because what we all have to remember is the show is called Naruto. Not Sasuke XD.

Kakashi was from what I think, a brother to Sasuke at first. Joking with him. Making fun of him and stuff, but later became more of a father figure in his life. Lectures, training, being the one to seal the curse, and risking his life for him on more then one occasion. I find that one quite obvious. He has always favored Sasuke, no denying it, why? Because Kakashi see's himself in him. Just like Jiraiya and Naruto, Tsunade and Sakura. And well, Orochimaru for some odd reason is infatuated with Sasuke [I think he's just jealous that Sasuke's chest is amazing so he picked him] Sasuke was worried when Kakashi wasnt with the group.

My thoughts, Sasuke is playing the Loyal pawn in Orochimaru's game. Forget friends, family, just hate. Just to gain that power. So I think that he doesnt really have to guts to kill them in the end. There was a reason Sasuke couldnt do it at the end. Its Naruto. Its Sakura. Its Kakashi [Sai and Yamato...Innocent bystandards] But really. I think Kakashi would really freak. I think that he got the Mangekyo so he could be strong enough to take on Orochimaru if he had to. In which I believe he will. Though I see Naruto the one to take him down.

I think that Kakashi is so strung on Training Naruto because I think he feels guilty. Guilty that he couldnt do something more to stop Sasuke from going. And I dont think he wants Naruto to end up dead. He doesnt want his mistake [In his mind] to hurt his other student. And he knows that Naruto, at the moment, is probably the only one that can bring him back. Though there is no difinates. I think Kakashi cares for Naruto as his student and wants to make him stronger, but we have to remember, he is also training Naruto because Itachi and Kisame [And Co. O.o] are coming after him for his Kyuubi. And that will kill him.

So there. Those are my thoughts on it. Lolx.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 09, 2006 6:11 am

Well...I'm not certain whether to believe that Sasuke will ever come back to the Team again...but in sense he must return one way or another. If not, then Naruto will fail his promise with Sakura and that will crush him.

Sasuke left for power, but he didn't kill Naruto because he realized that naruto was to much of a precious person to him to just kill him. Of course, I'm not sure what he's thinking now. After all, he did almost stab Sakura and he was going to fight Naruto if Orochimaru hadn't appeared. My thoughts, Sasuke no longer cares for the Team. But, I could be wrong of course. Still, that's what I believe.

I beliebe Kakashi is training Naruto so that Naruto can get evern stronger. Sasuke was the person that Kakashi cared for the most but I don't like to call him 'Kakashi's favorite'. I dont like that word...
Kakashi feel guilty for Sasuke's betrayal. he might think that he didn't do enough to stop him or give him what he had lost. i think that he wants to help Naruto and not make the same mistakes he did. He doesn't want naruto to end up dead and he knows Naruto's potential. So there are varouis motives here: 1) to bring sasuke back, 2) to make Naruto stronger, 3) like Trusty said, he's praparing Naruto to face Akatsuki if they run into them again.

Remedi: I almost made myself cry, writing out a full version. XD! I was thinking of turning it into a fanfic, and with all the details, it turned out much more depressing than I ever thought it could be. Kakashi dying is certainly not something I want to really happen, but it would be powerful.

--The Trusty Sidekick--: I also love these discussions. 4laugh I like your explainations! Orochimaru being jealous of Sasuke's georgous chest seems possible. XD! Orochimaru is reeeeaally creepy when it comes to Sasuke.
You know, reading things like that make me feel so bad for Kakashi. ;_;

underworld-girl: I like your explainations as well! XD! I always thought the reason Sasuke didn't kill Naruto was because he didn't want Itachi to control his life. (Itachi was the one to tell him to kill his best friend, after all) And since he didn't want to be controled, he let Naruto live. I also think Sasuke no longer cares about Team 7. I don't think he's 'cut' the bonds, like he's said, just 'burried' them.
I think Kakashi is training Naruto for all those reasons and a little more. He of course sees Naruto's potential, and wants to bring it out. He's trying to get Naruto to learn an ability not even the Yondaime could do. I think maybe Kakashi is trying to prove SOMETHING and it could be one of many things.

This is a really good point, and I have to agree fully. If I remember correctly, Kakashi seemed AWFULLY depressed when he found that Sasuke --after fighting Naruto-- was gone and unable to be tracked. I agree that Kakashi feels he could have done more, tried harder, to change Sasuke's train of thought. Right now, I think that by training Naruto, he's ALSO trying to fix whatever mistake he thinks he made by not stopping Sasuke. Kind of like, "I lost one child (and I say CHILD because at this point it's no longer really a student/teacher thing) and I WON'T lose another."

He KNOWS what power can do to a person; he's seen Sasuke get lost in revenge and though he wasn't THERE during the Team 7 reunion, he smart enough to know exactly how Sasuke was. He KNOWS that Sasuke's power is going to cost him his life, which is Sasuke's case, is giving his body to Orochimaru.

Naruto also has a LOT of power, and in recent chapters Kakashi is clearly stating that. However, he knows that the Akatsuki wants that power, and if Naruto can't control it and use it correctly, then that power will result in Naruto's death, by Akatsuki taking and killing him for the Kyuubi.

To me, Kakashi is desperate. Desperate to get things RIGHT. To me it seems as though Kakashi is always "late." And not just late for training. My point:

- Kakashi was too late to turn around to save Rin. Result: Obito's demise.

- Kakashi was too late to figure out that Zabuza was still alive and form a plan. Result: Sasuke's "death."

- Kakashi was too late to break up the fight between Naruo and Sasuke on the hospital roof. Result: Sasuke's newfound anger and grown desire to become stronger.

- Kakashi was too late to give Sasuke that speech. Result: Sasuke couldn't dwell on his long enough, and he didn't change his mind; he LEFT.

- Kakashi was too late to find Naruto and Sasuke after their fight. Result: Sasuke was long gone.

Now, Kakashi is desperately trying to help Naruto, because this time, if he's too late in helping Naruto get stronger, he'll lose Naruto. I don't believe that Kakashi is a careless as he seems...Kakashi DOES CARE. He doesn't want to keep losing people on his behalf. Kakashi NEEDS to know that he can do something right, that he can be a good teacher, a dependable person. He's failed so far, and maybe if he can succeed by saving Naruto, he might be able to say that he helped save Sasuke, even if it's indirectly.

I also agree here. Sasuke does NOT care for his former team. Too me, it's clear that he wouldn't care if Naruto, or Sakura, or Kakashi died. He also wouldn't care if HE was the one to kill them.

However, Sasuke clearly isn't the type of person who drags other people into his mess. To him, this is UCHIHA business, and no one elses. He doesn't care if his team dies, but he doesn't really want them in his business. He beleives that it's okay if they're okay, they just need to focus on something else other than getting him back. He doesn't want his former teammates dead; they didn't do anything wrong. However, to him, they're being reckless to get him back, and if they get themselves killed?

Oh well. It was their fault.

This is the reason why I, too, beleive that Sasuke didn't kill Naruto, besides the fact that he didn't want to kill Naruto because it wasn't Naruto's business, and all Sasuke wanted was to get away. Sasuke doesn't want to BE Itachi. Sasuke is a rebellious person. Anyone who thinks that he isn't, needs to think again. Sasuke rebells against almost everything. It's not a surprise that he wants to rebel against Itachi. He doesn't just want to kill Itachi. Oh no. Sasuke wants to do it HIS way, and in simple words, he wants to shove it in Itachi's face. This is more than just revenge. This is Sasuke's chance to say "After all this, I SURPASSED you. They expected everything of YOU, but look at ME. I'm BETTER."

Exactly. Itachi told Sasuke that if he wanted to get the Mangekyou he had to kill his best friends just like he did. Itachi, in a way, expects Sasuke to do that since he's aware that Sasuke is full of ambition to kill him. True that at first since Sasuke almost killed Naruto. But he came to his senses at the right time and realized that all he was doing is coming to his brother's expectations and being just like his brother. That's why he didn't kill Naruto.

But I was wondering, if Itachi wasn't expecting Sasuke to do that or wats Sasuke to be like him...would Sasuke have killed Naruto?

Well, Sasuke didn't know very much about the Mangekyou before. I think that if Itachi hadn't told Sasuke about the Mangekyou, then Sasuke probably wouldn't have even FOUGHT Naruto to such a degree.

It's really hard to say what would've happened if Itachi hadn't told Sasuke to get the Mangekyou...after all, nobody really has a clear idea of Itachi's toughts and plans...however, MAYBE if Itachi hadn't told Sasuke to be like him, MAYBE Sasuke wouldn't have even wanted revenge as bad as he does.

OR he probably would've tried to get the Mangekyou anyway. After all, since Itachi wouldn't have ordered him to get the Mangekyou LIKE him, then Sasuke probably wouldn't have thought, "Oh, well he said that I need to do THIS, so instead I'll do THAT." He probably would have been around the lines of, "Well, if the Mangekyou got him that strong, it will get ME strong, too, and I'll beat him that way."

So there's a chance that the storyline may or may not have changed at all. >_>;

*nods* But I don't think Sasuke would have ever figured out how to get the Mangekyou. Itachi's the one that told him, and told him to read about it on that stone thing, under the floor or whatever. Sasuke would have never known about that place, or about the Mangekyou's dark secret if it wasn't for Itachi telling him what he needs to do to be like him. *shrugs* But what-ifs are usually hard to determine.

I'm not sure...I think he probably would, being that he gave attention to Sasuke more in the first place.

Also, when Sasuke returns, he would have anyone to work with him except for Kakashi. I think that since Kakashi knows that Naruto is safe with Jiraiya, and that Jiraiya is stronger than Kakashi asnyways, he will make Naruto continue his training with Naruto while he works with Sasuke.

I guess...but I can't help but think that Naruto is been left out in a way. I mean, I understand that Kakashi relates to Sasuke and wants to help him more but still...I feel that Naruto is been left out in that equation.
