OK. i really didn't like the ending. I mean no more alchemy argh. I was glad al has his original body back and the brothers are together. But with out alchemy he is just the full metal. sad im gunna miss the alchemy adn show

I liked the ending, it was conclusive and idealistic.... If they had both stayed together in the alchemy world, limbs and body returned, it would have made the ending seem too "happily ever after". Unfortunatly not everything ends well and I think the creator took that into perspective.

i thought it was a great conclusion to the story, not all bright and typical and happy..they are reunited and on earth out leaving alot behind but generally ok

snshawkeye but in the movie did ed still have automail anyways. Yes, he did. I think that if Ed got his limbs back it would just seem weird... Having gone through the whole series seeing him with mechanical limbs razz

Spoilers! Highlight if you want to read on, though:
I HATED the ending of the series, because I wanted Ed and Al to be together crying I was so mad that I didn't watch the movie... >.< After all they went through... They were seperated! I hated it!
Then I watched the movie 2 weeks after watching the series... I should have done sooner. >_> I loved the ending so much. It was a bit sad that Winry couldn't go with them, but I cried in joy that the brothers finally were together ^^ And maybe they'll at least find the Winry of our world, right? I didn't care about her that much... She had just a minor role in the series in my opinion... *shrugs*

Winry played a mayor role. But I'm glad she was left behind. NOW EDWARD-SAMA IS MINE!!! twisted
The ending was perfect. It really wasn't what you thought it would be.

I was actually disappointed, I really wanted something to happen between Winry and Edward, I wanted them to be in the same worlds...
But then again, not many anime shows are happy endings.
Atleast the Brothers are together, too bad no more alchemy, Alchemy was the best part of the whole show... *sniff*
I think there should be an alternative ending for all of us who were disappointed!
I can't wait to see what happens in the manga version, if it's not happy i'm gonna go up to the cow dude, kill him, then eat him... ya...

THE ENDING IS SO STUPID IT TOTALLY RUINED THE ENTIRE SERIES. THE ONLY THING THAT MADE IT BETTER WAS THE MOVIE BUT EVERYONE IS SUCH A RETARD IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT MAKES ME SO IRRITATED!!!!!!!!! scream scream scream scream scream burning_eyes burning_eyes burning_eyes

think of it this way: the boys learn how to fight without alchemy. They realize that they cannot rely on alchemy all the time. so Edward learns to live without alchemy because alchemy was all he knew of all his life. he's taken to our world and here, he finds that he cannot use any more alchemy so he learns how to go through the world without it and finds a way to find the gate so he could see his brother again.
Besides, the movie would be boring if edward could still use his alchemy and found his brother right off, then where's the plot, the fight and all that? you know what im saying? so all this is good and that what makes the movie good. and the series? they ended that way so they could bring the movie and the series to come together and make a good rating.
