"You have to keep your eyes closed." Mecca said as he led Covet up the cliff path by her hand. Simitar predictably bounded along ahead, his little ears bouncing up and down as he approached the gate to a wild garden.

Impatient to explore he clambered through the gate and up the stone path to scrabble around the overgrown mess.

Mecca stopped at the gate, in front of them was a large and bramble packed garden. Beyond that a reasonable sized cottage, tatched and obviously not lived in for several years. Mecca smiled.
"O.k you can open them now."

Covet kept her eyes firmly shut, though she was sorely tempted to peek. Mecca had been waiting for her wake up and was in an uncharacteristically good mood when he told her to hurry and get dressed because he had a surprise for her. Now allowing herself to be led, she could hear the sea and smiled at his words as she had been just about to peek. When they stopped, butterflies danced in excitement in her stomach and she took a deep breath as he told her to open her eyes.

Blinking, it took her a moment to take it all in. The quaint seaside cottage, the untamed garden... Turning to face him, a quizzical look crossed her green eyes.

"The cottage?" she asked, to make sure that that was her surprise, not fully understanding what he was trying to hint at.

Mecca smiled and nodded.
"Yes the cottage." He said opening the gate and gesturing for her to walk through first. "How would you like to live here?" He asked as they walked up the path, it was the perfect location to live. Close to the sea yet far enough away from the annoyances of the city.

"It would be our house rather than mine. I'm sure you'd prefer it to the big house in the port."

Covet stepped through the opened gate and started towards the cottage as she listened to him. At his final words, she stopped and reached out for his arm to stop him as well.

"Truly?" she asked, her excitement being barely contained. "Our house?" she repeated as it finally bubbled over and she bounced on her toes excitedly before throwing her arms around him with a happy squeal. "Truly, this will be our home?" she repeated again, when she pulled away to look up at him, her cheeks flushed by her elation.

Mecca nodded and smiled down at her.
"Truely." He said, for once not bothered by her bouncy happiness. He liked making her happy even if he did not always like being happy himself. "If you want it." He smirked and stepped back, reaching into his pockets for the keys to the door.

"It needs some work, but i think it will be perfect. Take a look."

"If I want it? Of course I want it!" she laughed and bounced again as he fished out the keys. Glancing back at the cottage, she noticed immediately the things that would need some work done, but she could care less. Home. It would be her first true home and she couldn't be happier. Laughing again, she took the key from him and hopped up onto her tip toes to press a deep kiss to his lips, then promptly skipped up to the door, unlocked it and slipped inside.

Mecca smirked and watched her bounce off into the house.
It was much, much smaller then their current house. The ground floor a large kitchen/living area with a smaller room leading off. Large stone fireplaces in each room. Up some rickety stairs was a large bedroom, a bathroom and a smaller room.

"It's not huge." He said leaning against one of the wooden work surfaces. "But that's what I like about it."

Covet took it all in as she walked around, running her teal tipped fingers over the dusty surfaces as she passed by them. Smiling broadly at his comment.

"I love it Mecca," she smiled and stepped up to him, slipping her arms around him. "This is the best surprise yet," she smiled, looking up at him. "What about Taliesin?" she asked, tilting her head to the side as she ran her hands up along the edge of his coat.

"What about Taliesin?" He asked with a smirk. "I'll still run it from the basement and rent out the house. Cephei is only a five minute walk down the hill. Not a probalem really."

He smiled and started up the stairs.
"This location is perfect. It feels right, from a power point of view. A good view of the sea. Far away from the irritations of the public." He smirked again and looked out the small windows. to the view.

Covet smiled and followed him up the stairs, smirking a little at his words. He was always concerned about such things. Turning into the bedroom, she smiled as she looked around, stepping up to window.

"If I didn't know any better I would say you're trying to hide away from the world now," she smirked and turned away to go inspect the other upstairs room and bathroom. Slipping back downstairs, she stepped outside and smiled as the seabreeze toyed with her royal purple waves. The air was so much fresher up here, she thought as she looked around the wild garden. She rather liked it the way it was.

Mecca followed her downstairs and out into the garden where Scim was clowning around and chasing his tail.
"There's nothing wrong with hiding away." He said folding his arms and looking out over the amazing seascape. "I don't like people so why live right in the middle of the bustle of Cephei?"

Covet turned and smiled at him. She studied his rigid posture for a moment, then smirked and reached out for his hand. Tugging on him gently she led him over to a sunny spot a little ways away from their new home and with a soft laugh, dropped down to lie on her back, her skirts and hair fanning out carelessly on the lawn

"Come... relax with me Mecca," she smiled, holding her hand out to him. "You're home."

Mecca looked at her with a smirk. Relax? She should know that wasn't in his vocabulary.
"Home." He said looking around and taking a seat on the grass with her. "Yes I suppose I am." He smiled a little and leaned back on his hands. "I've never really had a proper home ... the others were my uncles properties. I just took up residence in them. I like this place though. It has a good atmosphere."
PostPosted: Tue Nov 07, 2006 7:52 am

Covet watched him as he spoke, smirking a little and rolling her eyes. Reaching out, she yanked his hand out from under him.
"Lie back and relax already," she laughed. "You don't have to be so formal all the time. Just say it feels like home and leave it at that," she smiled and then sat up and leaned over towards him.

"I promise... I won't tell a soul," she whispered dramatically. Smiling still, she dropped back onto the ground and looked up at the bright blue sky, watching the huge fluffy clouds drift lazily by.

"But... I know what you mean," she said softly after a moment. "When I lived with Matty it was home, but never -my- home. And then I moved in to
-your- home. Now this is our home," she smiled and reached out to slip her hand into his. She knew he hated holding hands, but then she was never one to cater to his odd quirks about normal affection.

Mecca frowned as he was yanked backwards and rolled his eyes. A touch of a smirk gracing his lips.
"It feels like home." He said looking up at the bright blue sky.

As her hand slipped into his he turned to look at her and smirked again. He'd let her today, as it was so pleasant and he was happy to take her words and relax a little.

"Heh, that cloud looks like scimitar. Don't you think?" He asked pointing to a cloud that looked a bit like the over-excitable puppy.
