Woo! So I just got out of school like all of 2 hours ago. And I found out the plays we're going to be doing as well. We've got an awesome lineup.
As far as I can remember, we're doing most definately not in order because my memory isn't so great:
Barefoot in the Park The Women Amadeus Henry Ten Little Indians Little Shop of Horrors 12 Angry Men Fiddler on the Roof A Night of One Acts (student written and oh-so amazingly wonderful) Read me Another Story, Sing me Another Song
And there's more but I definately can't remember them all. As for what I've been cast in so far, well there's been an abnormally low ammount of parts cast this year. So I've been definately cast in one part. But that's one more than last year. And it's a big role. I will be playing Mrs. Rogers in Ten Little Indians this coming January!
I'm so excited to hear what everyone else is doing! Please tell!

Next year the school I'm going to is doing A Midsummer Night's Dream, More Fun than Bowling, and Jesus Christ Superstar. I'm curious about More Fun. I've never heard of it, but it sounds interesting. Has anyone else heard of it/done it?

I have never heard of More Fun than Bowling. Sounds like....more fun than bowling....though. Yeah. sweatdrop
I was SO excited about Amadeus, I could have gone home happy even though I know I'm not going to be in it. I would LOVE to be on costumes.
You know, I've actually never seen or read Ten Little Indians and I'm having problems coming up with anything about my character. Anyone have any insight/general information about the character of Mrs. Rogers?

eek You're lucky...we're doing: Grease Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat The Sound of Music Death of a Salesman The Legend of Sleepy Hallow The Music Man and Blame it on the Movies (Dinner Theatre) Since my school doesn't have a drama program, I have to go to the community theatre, and they won't do any show that isn't so popular everyone's heard of it...it's annoying.

Sadly, I don't find out what the shows at my school will be until I get my "love letter" from the director of the theatre department until August. I KINDA have a general idea of the kind of things we might be doing... -Heather's senior workshop (most likely a drama) -Major fall production (possible an original play written by one of the teachers in out Comm. Arts department) -Kevin's senior workshop (He told me it will be a comedy) -Major spring production (A musical. Talk is the it might be Sound of Music or Nunsence.) -Tara's senior workshop (She's an ADHOC, so it's going to be a medieval dinner theatre type thing. CAN'T wait for this one!) -Children's Theatre
As for the theatre I work out in my spare time, the schedule just got all rearranged, but from what I understand... -Nunsence first week of July -The next TWO shows are going to be "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," but what order that they will fall is still up in the air. -Fall show is "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?" -The Christmas show WAS going to be "Nuncrackers," but I doubt it now that the schedule is all reworked

Yeeah. My school director goes overboard. We did a record 13 plays last year and if we're going anywhere with that number, it's up. She's a determined little lady. But you're doing like 3 of my favorite plays! Dracula, Into the Woods and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. I seriously thought that was going to be our kids play this year. We have the cast. But no. I also thought we would do Tartuffe, but yeah.
Our department did Music Man last year. Break a leg with that. Rehearsing "Trouble" after 6 straight hours WILL make you want to kill yourself.

We don't know what we are doing yet, but we are probably gonna do only one full play or musical and a one act festival. My drama teacher is currently looking at the musical Violet (good music) and a play about the Columbine incident, but we are gonna have some play readings at Barnes and Noble during the summer to look at more plays we could do.

Wow...this is sad. At my school, we do two shows a year. Just two. A musical in the Fall and a play in the Spring. That's it.
Musical: Chicago Play: The Marriage of Figaro
I am PUMPED for Figaro because more than likely I'll be in the Design Elements first semester, which means I get to design the set for Figaro. Woohoo!

I don't remember them all, but here's what I do know.
August-Semptember: The Mystery of Irma Vep
October-November: Phaedra
January: Title yet to be determined. Last year, a devastating F-4 tornado destroyed a small town not too far from our college (that same twister half-destroyed my high school as well). Our annual playwriting class is going to get different people's views about the tornado from that small town and the effect it had on their lives.
Feb.-March: Don't remember the title.
April: Ifigenaya Crash Land
Also in April will be my senior project, yet to be determined.

heart Beauty and the Beast! I would have loved to do that! Everyone in the department wants to do it, but yeah, the rights are so incredibly difficult to get right now, unless you want to pay a small fortune, which you're already going to be paying for the pretty pretty rose, not to mention the costumes.
