I was watching the TMNT movie last night and noticed that Sam Rockwell was in it. eek According to imdb.com it was only his third or fourth movie and he's listed as "head thug".

The only reason this was REALLY funny to us (me and my best friend Todd) is b/c we remember Sam Rockwell best as Guy from Galaxy Quest. So despite the fact that I was talking to him online and it was late I insisted in CALLING Todd to tell him: "Guy was in Ninja Turtles!!!"

Something else, it really bugs me how in the song during the credits it says Raphael is the leader. Dude... take Leo's only glory will ya! Not cool! On a related note I'm trying to get a copy of the soundtrack since I gave mine away years ago to my little brother.

Lastly, in the bathroom that they sorta toss Raph into the tub in I see no toilet. Fairly big bathroom, there's a tub, I see a sink but where's the toilet? And I SERIOUSLY hope that there's another bathroom b/c I wouldn't want to pee with a turtle in the tub.

Also the guy who voiced Splinter has been the voice of Elmo on at least three occasions. xd

Kevin Clash is the main puppeteer for Elmo, so I think he'd have done it more than three times. *G*

I bet you could find the soundtrack on Ebay, that's where I went once I wanted to replace all of mine (either scratched or missing). So I recommend checking there, sometimes you can find un opened ones for sale under $5.

Wow Guy is in TMNT?! That is awesome I have to tell my mom that! I didn't even realize it. Another head thug in that movie is Ernie Reyes Jr. aka Keno from TMNT 2, he was also Donatello's stunt double in TMNT 1.

Heh about Raphael being the leader, I think the writter of the song just didn't know what he was talking about, but I bet Raph enjoyed the credit. He always wanted to be the leader, as stated in "Tales of Leo" and in the Image comics where he was leading the Foot clan, there's a wonderful scene where he tells Leonardo to stay away from the Foot, because he doesn't want Leo to make him look bad all the time.

I think my favorite thing about TMNT 1 & 2 is how some of the actors got to make apperances out of costume... like Michelan being the Pizza Hut delievery guy, and Mark Caso being a worker in the news room. That stuff always held me at awe... and I bet they were happy their faces at least made it in the movie.

Did you know that Kevin Eastman had a small un speaking role in TMNT 1?

Way not cool! Though Raphael is one of my second favorites, and I like him in his own respect, in my opinion he honestly wouldn't make the best leader. He's too "leap before thinking," and with leadership often comes responsiblity. Raph doesn't seem to have too much of that.

Leonardo has the true qualities of being a leader, and it's in his nature to be one. He has a level head, and keeps calm and collected, maintaining order while even in chaos. He always has a plan of action, and can come up with one while on the fly sometimes. He's very responsible, and will often put others ahead of himself. He's the most devoted out of all of them.

lmao! That's funny. *giggles*

It always eluded me why the heck he was dumped into the bathtub when he was injured. Sheesh, they ain't all turtle anymore. They're hybrids. Get him a bed to lay on. I don't think I'd want to be stuck in the tub.
Now if he had a fever that I could understand because he would have to be cooled down, but I'm not sure if he did or not. My memory is a little rusty, and I have yet to freshen it by seeing the movie again for the first time in 8 years.

Not only that but with their body size and the size of tubs in general I'm not sure he'd really fit the way he did in there... he was way too "in there" given his height. Generally I read that the Turtles are around 5'1" or so and that's just a little bit shorter than my height. Even though I'm not as broad as they are if I were to lay in a tub like that (don't tempt me, I'll test this out) I don't think I'd fit quite that way.

But that's just me being a BIG geek. And um... a friend started it, seriously.

First -- though Raphael is my favorite and I can see how he wouldn't make as good a leader as Leo right now, I still think that if the Turtles have anything close to a 2nd in command it would be Raphael. I think his problem is that he knows he can get himself into plenty of trouble and he cares too much for the others to go and drag them into it. (He is so thoughtful, my Raphael-sama heart ) Besides that, both Mirage (through the 'Turtle Letters' pages on the official website) and Image (when he started hanging with the Foot) had him playing a leader role. I think Raph has potential -- he'd hate me for saying it . . but you could kinda call him a Leo-in-training! smile

2nd point: now that you mention the tub thing I've gone over that portion of the movie -- they never explain why he's put in the tub (and I don't remember them stickin' Leo in a tub in the original comic book when they did the original story arc, either . . )! I remember the spot where April was kinda sprinkling some water over his side while he was in the tub . . but noone says he's got a fever! All you hear is that his condition is "not good". (Perhaps assuming he has a fever is a wise move . . .)

As for the toilet thing . . . my thought is that the place is either so old that you've actually gotta go out back and use an out house sweatdrop . . or that, owing to that bathroom being on the 2nd floor, the toilet may have been added later on to a downstairs bathroom and we just get to stay in the upstairs bathroom with Raph and Leo.

Maybe a Guild project could be to rewrite that portion of the "T-U-R-T-L-E Power" song? I already alter it myself when I'm singing along by saying '2nd' before they say 'leader' in the line . . because it bugs me, too!

What do the rest of you think?

Hehehe yeah, he was the driver of the garbage truck near the end of the movie.. if you watch that last fight scene you'll see it pull up in the back ground and you'll see a human walking near the truck that's him. Not too long after that, Casey uses the truck to knock the foot off of the ladder. It's really a small small part, and if you don't know it's him, you wouldn't know he was even in the movie.

Yeah I know that one... had to watch it myself after Kevin told me he was in the movie... was a bit surprised to hear he was in it. Though sure enough he's there.

Oooh there's so many things behind this story, that not even I know all the facts of what went down but I can go over a few things that I do know about this.

Back in the early 90's Eastman and Laird started to drift apart. According to Kevin's book... Kevin Eastman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ( http://www.metaltv.com/showitem.cfm?itemnum=3489 ) They did the City at War comics to try and get closer again, though it didn't work out... they were still friends just not the friends they once were and did not agree on stuff.

The breaker though started heavy in 1995 when CBS anouced they were only doing one more year of Saturday Morning cartoons, than they're dropping everything... which included Turtles. Mirage had to find someone else to carry the show, though Fox would ONLY do it if Saban would do it, and Saban woud ONLY do it if it was Live Action and had a female Turtle... the talks went on... and on... the fight was a rough one, since originally both Eastman and Laird did not want a female Turtle. But Kevin thought more for the fans and wanted to keep the Turtles alive, he ended up starting to cave... as Peter held is ground... and boy did he...

January 11th 1997 the papers were signed and Saban had the rights to make a live action show with a female Turtle. Mirage artist designed and came up with Venus's back ground story, but Peter was not happy... which made him drift even more from Kevin. The show came out, and was #1 for it's time slot and for children programming... though sadly Saban cancelled it... excuse was not enough $$$ it was costing too much... but I don't see why TMNT would cost more than let's say Power Rangers (which needs a different villain every ep). The reason I feel that Saban cancelled it is because it went over better than they were hoping... I think they wanted to prove that the Turtles were dead and Power Rangers were better.. but that didn't happen... and next thing we know we only got one season of the show... (but that's for a different rant)

In Fall 2000 it came down it... Peter wanted to do more TMNT stuff, but didn't want to deal with Kevin through all of this... and Kevin wanted to work on his Heavy Metal stuff and needed more money. Peter offered Kevin a sum for creative control over the Turtles. Kevin took the deal, now Peter has full control on where the Turtles are going.... while Kevin works with his Heavy Metal projects.

First thing Peter did was annouce D day for Venus... second thing he did was change Michaelangelo to Michelangelo... and there are other changes that are happening as well.... not all that I'm too fond of. But I'm happy to have the Turtles back.

Peter is good with the Turtles... but I have to amit, there was something specail about the team up of Eastman and Laird.

That is really interesting, Ivey! I searched long and hard, and I found the part where the garbage truck pulls up. The only person I could see was a blurry figure of a human standing adjacent to the side of the truck, but I couldn't make out the figure. Also, the "figure" wasn't walking, it was just standing still. Perhaps it has to do with the unclear resolution when I paused the VHS tape. But again, that's something that I (and most of the viewers) never would have known if not for you! biggrin
