I know there is a large difference in styles of writing between Japanese and English. Though, I was wondering how it was different in acadamic writing. In school my English class at the moment was talking about essays, and how in America they are in a way ' perverted' from it's origanal format of basicly a free write. So, I wondered how Japanese students wrote basic essays, or atleast academic writings.

welp, no one has said anything, maybe I need to say a different question. How do English and Japanese styles or mood of writing differ? I know sentance structure does, and that the culture is very round about. So does this also reflect in writing? Or is it more ' I know what I'm talking about' like in America?

well, i cant tell you, what im thinking would require me to teach the entire language as it is used for writing. after all, i cant say "its this and that and tada!" thats a very close minded thought.
if thats not what you mean, your question makes no sense ot me.
