I'm waaaaaaaay behind on my nanowrimo novel.

You'll be seeing very little of me this month. I'll try to get on every so often, but you cannot know how much it means to me that I finish this novel, and time spent on gaia is time not spent writing.

Once December hits I'll be on a lot more.

Bye for now, loves. One of my mods can feel free to move this to the spam forum after a week or so if you want.

I'd also like to ask Tak-jak and Zahmen to check up on this account (it's still got the password I told you about) for trades, friend requests, and PMs periodically.

Accept all friend requests, the only ones I get are from new guild members.

Awww... I haven't had the time to get on the guild much myself, so I know how that is. Especially now that I have a social life again.

Nonetheless, we'll still miss you! Good luck on your novel. I gave up on mine already. I'll save it for a time that I'm not getting god-awful grades in school.

Ah, NaNo. How do I love thee?

Okay, so I've got a love-hate relationship with NaNoWrimo. Last year I got to roughly 45000 words, and then I got horribly sick. I had a fever and couldn't get out of bed, was hallucinating, throwing up, etc. So I never finished it. And then my computer died, and I was completely and entirely unable to recover it. emo
And this year, I was completely stupid and lost my mind for a week in which I believed AP European History and Honors World Lit wouldn't be difficult, and proceeded to sign up for both classes, effectively destroying any semblance of a social life I might have had beforehand. So, no NaNo this year. crying

But I shall be in the sidelines, cheering all you brave writers out there onto the finish line. I'll also be here for editing help, if the case arises. Which, nothing on anyone, is a good idea after you've finished the chapter. Or section. However you're writing.
I wish you all much luck with your stories. heart heart

Thanks Jub Jub, I'm so over worked right now. I can't wait to be done with this, and then either publish or self-publish it.

The worlds spins... so the flip side would be tomorrow.

THat's how I've always understood it anyways.

I meant to get another thousand words done before work... and now I don't have time crying

man I'm dumb... and Gaia is addictive.

how does one self-publish a book?

hehehe. My nano is going so terribly awful that I'm laughing--actually laughing at myself and at my majorly-in-need-of-editing book. Well really, I need something to happen...but I'm not sure how to approach it.

I have 8000 words. *rawrhiss* I'm royally screwed.

Self-publishing.. well there are several web sites that will let you publish the book, and then you get to choose stuff like the cover and whatnot. After that, they will only make so many books as are ordered, and you have to try and publicize the book: adds and etc. It's not the preferred way to go, but if you want to see your manuscript in book form, it's a last resort.

If I have to, I'll do that, because I want to be able to sit down and read my book in hardcover form.

bnut what if you want your book to be international? And you have limited options on cash sweatdrop

That is why the self publishing is a last resort. You can put it on amazon.com and any/every one can look it up. And if it's on Amazon then technically any bookstore in the world can order it for someone and they can pick it up from there. So yeah.

ohhhhhhh.

but it's best just to send it in?

If you want to get famous, find an agent to represent you. Don't go to one of those "get your book published fast!" places, where all you do is hand them your manuscript and cash. So impersonal. >_>
An agent is the best way to go, I've found. Make sure the agent reads your manuscript before you pay them; that way you'll know if they'll actually represent the book to the publishers truly, not just to get money. If you can get an agent that genuinely likes and appreciates your story as a potential book, there's less of a chance they'll screw you over.

Hope my input helps. heart
