Sid Eisley

Sid was in the mood for a movie again, and the arrival of his new stash and inspired him to select The Big Lebowski out of the massive collection available. He wasn't high at the moment, a guy had to be sober at least some of the time, but it turned out the movie was just in surreal in places even without out the influence of something. He was amazed. He'd never really absorbed much of the plot before, come to think of it.

His last awkward experience in the entertainment room was all but forgotten as he sat in front of the TV, his cane propped at his side. The fact he should probably find the panda girl and apologize was wedged in the back of his mind along with all the other apologies he ought to dispense. He could worry about all that later. For the time being it was just him and the movie and his faintly glowing tail.

Some where in the back of the entertainment room a door slammed shut. Miller had heard rumors about the entertainment room though he had yet to visit it. Perhaps he could find something here to distract him self with.

Something farther back in the room caught his attention, sounded like some one was watching a movie? He made his way in to the room slowly takeing note of Sid, though from behind his rather unique jaw wasn't quite visible. Just a harmless old guy watching a movie right?

At the sound of door slamming, Sid tensed a little, if only because he had no idea what kind of company he was in store for. As he thought back to the b***h with the permanent fur accessories it was all he could do to keep his hands at his sides with the faint echo of pain that inspired. His senses had never been keen enough to make out footsteps, but he could at least make out movement from the corner of his eye as the guy approached.

Right when the movie was getting good, too.

He glanced over. "Hey."

Miller noticed two things about the older man, first was mildly amusing was the Pink Floyd shirt. The other, not so amuseing was the strange distortion of his jaw and teeth. "Er... Hey..." He shook his head, it would take him forever to get used to this. "I ain't interrupting anything am I?"

Sid gave Miller the once over... and then again to make sure he was indeed a normal kid. That raised the question of how often the shipped fresh meat over, which bothered him for all of three seconds before he pushed it out of his mind. No sense worrying about that, much less getting jealous when everybody shared the same fate. He glanced back the TV only to find he'd missed Julianne Moore flying across the screen naked.

"Nah," he said. He reached over, grabbed the remote, and remedied that with the search button. He looked back to Miller afterwards. "You're cool."

Watching Sid was once more another reminder of what was going to happen to him someday, doomed to be another freak trapped in an island full of other freaks.

Trying to pass off the uneasiness of Sid's appearance by moving calmly and taking a seat beside him on the other end of the couch. "Names Miller, and you are?"

"Name's Sid," he said. He tore his attention away from the movie to look at Miller. "I take it, since you're not freaking out or anything, that you know what's up."

Miller rolled his eyes counting the times it was pointed out to him, "Some where between the red panda girls fur not being a mask, a multi tailed squirrel beating me upside the head, and trying to comfort a crying hedgehog women I'd have to say yes I know whats happening."

He frowned, "The little Halloween trail helped make things all the more clearer and delight full."

Sid looked at Miller blankly for a moment before the memory caught up with him. Everything before the pain killer cocktail had wore off was fragmented. He remembered the skinned decorations and the graveyard more than anything. The foggy trail he still wasn't quite sure he hadn't dreamt. The discussion with Billy after it all, when they were both getting painfully sober, had given him something to look forward to even if he didn't want to admit it. He rubbed his knee at the memory of all that walking. More reasonably used pills had taken the edge of before, though he was still left with a dull ache.

"That was pretty ******** up, yeah," he agreed. "But... ******** it, I'm not good at bullshit consolation. It sucks, but you find ways to deal."

He might even have something other than substance abuse to rely on in the future. Fancy that.

Sadly for Miller the trail was almost all to clear if not a quick blur of events loosely connected by yelling, screaming, and chaos. Sure he had a massive headache, but that just made things even more disturbing while he was asleep.

"I never did like looking at skinned animals or a butcher shop, but that trip was just above and beyond." He shrugged at the consolation comment, "That makes two of us, how exactly do you comfort a girl crying over a grave to some one you never met while your trying not to have your own mental break down."

"Beats me." Sid shrugged. "I try not to think too much about that s**t, man."

The key word was try. No matter what he did, not matter how much he drank, consumed, or smoked, he thought about it quite a lot. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, then tried to make it look like he was just changing position to try and make more room for his tail.

Miller rolled his eyes, "I think I'll just hit a point where I don't care any more. Right now it's all just disturbing." He frowned realizeing he was talking to a guy who's mouth could almost fit half his own in it like nothing was wrong. Maybe he already was getting used... wait was that a fish tail? Never mind, he wasn't use to it.

"You could try smoking a little pot. That always helps to take the edge off. s**t, all you have to do is ask and they'll give it to you." Sid snapped his fingers, which come to found out felt weird given the webbing and the newfound flexibility in them. "Just like that. I think that applies to just about anything, but I wouldn't overdo it."

Miller tapped his chin, he was never fond of people he knew who smoked, drinking he considered okay in some cases. Then again life was pretty much coming to an end for him. "You know, the day I change if I'm not dead and rotting in the woods I might actually take you up on that offer..."

"Excellent..." Sid said, grinning in his own uniquely freaky way. "You'll probably need it too, cause goddamn it hurts..."

He wasn't helping and he knew it, but the conversation was cheering him up a little.
