EDIT: I didn't hear canceled in that. All I heard was postponed. and in the end, it said the next halo game would be promising the halo movie

They did not CANCEL it. It is postponed, because Fox and Universal dropped out and will not be funding the project anymore.

That leaves Paramount and Warner, who both passed on the Halo script when Microsoft shopped it around last year before the Universal/Fox deal. Hopefully for Halo fans one of those studios will see the brand potential for the film this time around and finance the production. Cross you fingers, Halo fans!
