What happens to the characters after death? Any ideas? I know Nearly Headless Nick says Sirius "went on" but that could mean a lot of things.
How does this figure into fanfiction, I wonder? Is there some Wizard Heaven where Sirius and Remus will meet again, or what? I'm surprised I never thought of this before.

i once read a fan fiction that when a witch or wizard died they were put in a "holding zone" if their soul was so troubled they couldn't cross over. they could see the world below but only certain pple could sense them b/c the majority are too caught up in their life to notice... the "holding zone" gives them pretty much everything they want except the living. so like sirius meets up with lily and james ^_^ and thats where their souls will rest and wait until their true desire is filled.... i loved the idea so much that i have accepted. its i think its kinda romantic b/c sirus will wait for remus and wont cross over until remmy is back into his arms.

Aww, I like that idea smile Yeah, it's much nicer to picture Sirius waiting up there somewhere with his friends.

You belong to me...
I remember a fic that talked about how Sirius isn't dead, he just doesn't have a body to return to because it was sent somewhere else. Of course Sirius was trying his hardest to find his way back to Moony in it <3 I love that theory though, not only does it give you the warm-fuzzies but it also gives you some hope Sirius will be back. my snow white queen

Alas, I'm sure he's dead for good. The Harry Potter world has become so dark now, it's hardly the same. Long gone are the happy days of Chocolate Frogs and Every Flavour Beans. Maybe that's why I like fanfiction so much; it puts the "escapist" back into "escapist entertainment."

I was actually thinking about this the other day, and I think that it would be amazing if Sirius and Remus found each other after they died. Because I'm a fluff-nut, and I like happy endings. biggrin
But I also read a hilarious and amazing alternate ending to the HP series written by the same people who wrote the Shoebox Project. Read: Shoebox Potter and the Deathly Hellos <33
