Natsumi peeked out, left.. Right... No one seemed to be on this small peice of the beach. Safe, it seemed, enough for her to get a few rays of sun. Which she figured would be good, with the way she'd holed herself up inside her duplex alittle sun would probably do wonders.
So with declayering the beach sand safe for her approach, she moved forward, looking out to the water now to make sure no one was going to pop up and scare the bejeebus out of her. And once that was deemed safe she settled herself right down into the sand, streaching out from the tops of her head ot the tip of her tail. Sure, she got covered in sand in the process, but it felt very nice for some unexplainable reason.
She was dressed normally, a cute top with a nice knee-length skirt. ANd most importantly, both had been washed. So they'd need it again after rolling about in the sand, but having clothes to get dirty was definatly nice. SHe'd have to make sure to do laundry sooner this time.

Bobby was walking towards the beach. She brought a large picnic basket, which had since taken the place of her packs due to her sudden lack of fingers and thumbs. It was laden with all kinds of food, but the weight didn't bother her: it felt like almost nothing.
Today was the day, she was going to go to the beach. No, not the ocean... she wasn't ready for /that/ again! But little steps, that's what she had to do. Her whistling and apparent good-natured swinging of the basket covered the fact that the pig was on the verge of terrified.
She reached the edge and looked around, her whistling paused. Bobby's eyes scanned the beach, and at first she missed the color difference in the monocolor sand. But once discovered, she focused on it. A distraction! Someone that might take her mind off the rolling waves of the threatening oean.
Bobby made her way over, her hooves sinking only slightly in the sand, until she stood directly over the person. "Natsumi?" she asked, blocking the sun, "is that you down there?"

Ahh so warm. The gecko-girl was happilly enjoying her sunbath by now, when a whistling broke the solitude. It was breif, cutting off almost as quickly as it had gotten close enough to hear. But whistling wasn't something threatning, not even being on the verge of paranoia.
Just as she was about to peek over and get up out of the sand the person was on their way over, speaking and then up on her. Wow that had happend quicker than she thought, maybe it was because she had unnoticably been starting to doze off under the refreshing warmth. Her eyes managed to open when Bobby blocked the sun, poor thing's eyes got dried out real fast if she didn't keep them closed like that. It took her a breif second before she reconized the woman from awhile back, Bobby, right? "Aa..."S he blinked once, tryign to focus her eyes "Yes," She answered first, "Bobby, ne?" She questioned second, wanting to make sure she had the person right. And another good thing, the gecko didn't seem to find the pig rather threatning, no alarms flaring up inside her brain was always a good thing.
Seemed they had both changed since last seen. Bobby's was more obvious, a further progression on her path away from humanity. Natsumi, on the other hand, was simply missing one thing. One rather important thing, the sweater she'd been using to hide in before, and the swell of her stomach she'd been trying to hide.

Bobby nodded. As the gecko repositioned herself, the pig's smile faltered. She hadn't seen it before...... but now, it was obvious. She moved and sat next to the young woman. Her legs splayed out, for crossing the thick limbs was uncomfortable. So was sitting straight up, so the pig set the backet of food aside and leaned back on her similarly thick arms.
She was sitting close, but not so close that it was invading or anything like that. It was more a.... 'I'm here for you if you need me'. Bobby waited a bit longer, and eyes Natsumi from the corner of her eye. The baby was gone... but was it still alive? Since it wasn't around she doubted it, "I'm sorry...." She whispered under her breath softly. For once, Bobby was at a complete loss of words.

Natsumi full sat up then, tucking her legs under her with a bit of a hassle due to the larger feet, not exactly easy shifting those under oneself, but she managed anyways. She offered Bobby a tiny smile as everything fell silent for a reason she hadn't regestered yet. The missing fetus made her sad, yea, but she tried to keep it to herself, or ignor it. She couldn't do anything about it so... She just tried to ignor it.
"Sorry?" Natsumi blinked, a bit taken by suprise by the sudden appology. Had she done something? No... "For what?" she questioned further, upon finding nothing obvious. It would probably click after a few seconds, but her mind had to catch up.

Bobby's sad eyes registered Natsumi's reaction. Ahhh.... so it was like that. The pig pushed the emotion down, thinking of how to change the subject.
She forced another smiled and balanced on one hand to reach for the basket, "Did you want some food while we lounged here? I've brough enough to feed an army....." The pig snorted, she didn't add that she could easily finish every morsel fairly quickly, "What have you been up to?"

Natsumi's brain lingered on the subject a moment more while Bobby took up to shifting the subject. Most of her actions towards the stillbirth had been those of survival, and still was. The sad look seemd to make it click, barely, leaving a good deal of doubt as to that actually being it... Did she notice? She had seemed to feel for the young almost-mother before.
Natsumi frowned alittle, feelings stirring, shove them down though... She'd cried on enough people as it was, right? So food. She gave a soft noise, almost a giggle to the army part. That certiantly was alot of food. "Uh..." Her stomach urged a yes, but her mind doubted there'd be anything it would take. "No thankyou." She finally decided not to bother picking through the mass of food only to say no anyways. Up to? Pfft. Hiding was the simplest answere, but that wasn't the answere she wanted to give. "Nothing, really... Newton gave me a necklace." That was something, awhile ago, but still something. She lifted a webbed hand to lift the expensive looking jewelry up to show off.

Bobby reached in and grabbed a large sandwich packed with turkey, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, peppers.... and a lot of other stuff. She held it awkwardly on her hoof. It was hard to grasp without thumbs, "I hope you don't mind if I eat then."
The pig waited patiently, wondering how Natsumi was taking her loss. It seemed the emotions still battled within the gecko. "Newton? I don't believe I've met a Newton." Bobby leaned foward to get a view of the necklace. It was pretty, and looked spendy. Was that an Islander or a labtech? Maybe a tech, how would an Islander get a hold of such a piece of jewelry. She thought it over, taking a large bite from her sandwich and chewing, thinking.
The gift-game.... Bobby lifted her eyes to Natsumi's face. Well, this was an interesting change of events! "Is there a maaa-le" she was about to say man, but didn't know how appropriate that would be, "in your life now?"
Hadn't she mentioned someone earlier? Bobby couldn't remember. Did Natsumi already say something about Newton?

"Not at all." She gave a smile to inforce that it was perfectly fine. She wondered if maybe she could help, the lack of thumbs looked rather uncomfortable. But how?
She probably hadn't if she didn't reconize him right of. Newton was one of those unmistakable people. "He is a frog and.. The janitor." She explained, if that didn't point out who nothing would. She dropped the jewerly as it was examed, almost feeling guilty for wearing it. Yet another thing to constantly think about until you figured it out, or try and pretend it wasn't there until it fixed itself. Atleast she'd learned by now that approach didn't work.
She looked back at the long a drew out, a male in her life? This wasn't literal as it sounded, she reasoned. Natrually she knew men, so it must be... Dating? Perhaps. That seemed the most likely. "No... Not really. I mean... Newton-san likes me but, I don't know. And Then theres Taro..." She frowned alittle, her mind urged her to shush before she started offloading. That wasn't appropriate was it? She fidgeted alittle.

Ah good, her messing eating was alright here. Crumbs and clumps of sandwich rested in her fur where they have fallen. She listened, and heard the hesitation in Natsumi's voice. "Nope, pretty sure I haven't seen or heard of him pefore." In fact, she hadn't heard of either: not a frog or a janitor.
Bobby watched as the necklace fell out of sight. With a slightish smile, after another awkward bite from her food, the pig giggle-snorted. "Newton, Taro.... anyone else I should know about?" her tone was purely gossip-ish. Her general nature to fall into the "mother-hen-clucker' came out again. Well, it /was/ always a welcome change to her daily grind. Not only that, but it took her mind off more painful things.

Natsumi noticed the crumbs, but ignored them, it looked hard enough to eat as it was without worrying about mess. And she wasn't exactly the cleanest eater herself with her own finger issues.
The younger girl gave a soft laugh as Bobby's tone changed, it seemed to make the whole subject lighter. Frsh out of highschool she was more than used to the gossiping group of girls. She was the gossping group of girls, though she tried to contain herself alot of the time... Gossiping wasn't that nice, but when it was about yourself nothign hurt right? That was simply the green light to speak a bit more about her issue and get some good ol' fashion girl talk!
"Ah, well. Taro used to be... but. Eh." she paused, Okay this was the hardest one to explain. "Nevermind him." She finally finished with a light huff. Stupid Taro... Calling her ...that. "Netwon-san is sweet, and kind... But he is.. shy?" Was that even the word for him? He was always so nervious. It honestly made her feel stressed, as much as she liked him. "He tries hard, but I do not know." She trailed off, looking out to the ocean water.

Bobby sat up, her middle totally off-balance from the.... extra weight. But, she needed her hand to wipe off her face. That done, she leaned back on it to center her weight once more.
She sensed something happened between Natsumi and this Taro..... Bobby wasn't going to ask more. It seemed like the gecko was more concerned about this Newton anyways. "He is shy? I am afraid I don't really know what you mean. Isn't everyone shy here, changing as we are into.... welll... things?"
Mmmm.... "He tries hard?" Bobby thought maybe she heard some juicy talk there.... "how so?"

"Ah yes but Newton-san is always very.. nervious. He has a uhm." What was the word? "He speaks like th-th-this." She mimiced it in the last word, in a good mannored way, simple because she'd never learned the word 'stutter' "But he took me on a picnic, and he got me this, and Thomas-kun said he was ah..." There was a pause as her memory tried to kick in. "Smitten. Smitten with me." She gave a thoughtful frown, as her concerns seemed to suddenlly spill forth at that. "He's nice... Very kind, and considerate. But I do not think I feel the same... I do not know what to do." She looked back to Bobby, to see if there was some advice that might come about this. Some direction that she wasn't getting herself... She didn't want to be alone, not right now, the poor girl was on what some might call a 'rebound' though slowly coming off of it. Moreso, she didn't want to be alone because it scared her, and on this island what more was there than a good fling? Not much. Not even a career to go after.

Bobby nodded, listening intently. Maybe this wasn't gossip that Natsumi offered. "That means a stutter when he does that. Could mean many things." She paused again, the gecko was still talking. When the word 'smitten' came up, the pig couldn't help but make a toothy grin. Sounds like a word you describe teenage-high school love. And now it sounded like there was another guy involved. "Who's Thomas?"
"Well," Bobby looked at Natsumi. "What does your heart tell you?" She wasn't quite sure if she was qualified.... wasn't she the one who cheated on the man she loved... well, many times?

Natsumi nodded, stutter, alrighty. She never really cared, it just always seemed like he was stressed. Which in turn made her stressed, though it wasn't his fault. Which what made the sitiuation so complicated. There was the one hand, he wasn't her type... It seemed as simple as that. But on the other hand maybe he was, maybe she was just being too picky. Logically he was everything any girl wanted, kind, caring, tried to look after her.
Thomas? Why Thomas was probably her best friend on the island... "Oh... Thomas-kun is my friend, and neighbor." Gee, where to start with him? "He plays football, ah, soccar. He is becoming a snak, I think... He is funny, and fun." She finished there. That was a good enough introduction, right?
And there the advice was. Her heart? She dropped her gave back to the ocean. What did it say? That was good advice, in all technicalities. You heard it in movies and books allt he time, told people it, but when it came to yourself it could just slip your mind. "I don't know."
