Even if it's not on your way, make sure you go the the Gaint Buddha. When I went there, it was my favorite place. It's around three times the size of the Statue of Liberty, and isn't in a big city. So it towers over the surrounding landscape. It's so big, it's almost eerie. You can also get tickets to go inside it! You can look at Japan from the Buddha's chest. Inside are random exhibits about the building of the Buddha, but those weren't that interesting. It was just the sheer size and majesty of it.

I like... cant even imagine sitting on a hill or something... and off in the distance, over the horizon, there's a huge a** Buddha just standing there, towering over everything.
...and of course, he then proceeds to shoot lasers and stomp on people. domokun

Go to Harajuku. It's in the Shibuya prefecture in Tokyo. It's the "hip" place for teenagers. Go on a weekend to see multitudes of Lolitas, Visual Kei, and Decoras hanging around the street. There's a goreous shrine there, and hundreds of little boutiques filled with quirky items. If you go on a weekday, you'd miss pretty much everything that goes on since Japanese students are in school 5-6 days of the week. A Sunday would be your best bet. If you happen to see Baby The Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty, or Metamorphose, take a picture =3 I'll love you forever =3.
