About two Sundays ago, my church voted on whether or not to become an affirming church, meaning whether or not we are a welcoming, safe and accepting place for gay/bi/lesbian/transexual people.
And the vote turned out positive! This means a lot to me, even though I am straight, and I am so proud of my church for doing that.
We also voted on whether or not to join a local "support group" thing called Affrim United, and that also turned out positive. So now we get to add those to our official description, as well as put up a rainbow flag as a symbol.
So what are your thoughts on this?
[By the way, it's a protestant Christian (United) church, in case you were wondering]

welcometomyhell Protestant? I'm surprised it passed, but that's really great! Actually, it went over almost unanimously, no negative comments or anything like that. Anybody who was strongly against it left the church quietly and probably won't return, but that's their own decision. And thanks for the supportive comments! biggrin

Yay!
That good- I'd hate for my church to be called narrow-minded if it didn't turn out positive... I'd 'prolly leave that church... >.>
