 Welcome to the 2006 Christmas Aerandir event! In this thread should be everything you need to know about this event, including dates, times, details and anything extra you may need to know. Have a great Christmas and very merry new year, and I truly hope you enjoy this event. Fireworks, a barbeque, a tree, crackers and more can be found in the intersection between the two Islands. Someone has set up a giant tent like structure between the two Islands, though currently it looks a little bit like a bomb shelter. It will be however the site of a large Christmas party, though only time can tell to say that.

I want to make sure as many people as possible are here for the big Christmas Party, and as of such, I want to ask everyone what dates would be the most convenient for people.
Suggestions for dates and times would be most welcome, though I do intend to have this role-play thread open for a week-ish sometime in December, but when would you like it to happen?
If possible, please either PM dates to me (Taley) or post your suggestions in this thread. I'll try to post up all suggestions here, and then see if I can't make the dates when most people will be around.

Advent Calendar
A large advent calendar is posted up in both villages, which is mysteriously quite thick, and seems to hang rather precariously off the side of a so-called notice board outside the lodge. It's got a thick laminated layer covering the cardboard, supposedly to protect it from the rain.
What's behind each tab? Only time and the passing of days can tell that.

What's going to happen in this event?
Basically, every Aerandir will be assigned a day (Which you will be aloud to pick, first come first served on dates) which on your assigned day you will be expected to make a short role-play post about coming to open that particular days tab.
What's behind that tab? Who knows.
At the same time as opening the tab, you will be aloud to roll a dice with that post. That dice roll will correspond to a number on the prize pile. What could you win? Anything ranging from Christmas Hats, Candy cane sticks, to headshots of your Aerandir, to mini-gryphs, to even full body art.
Please note: Each Aerandir will be able to open a tab on each day, but you will only be able to roll a dice once (Guardians with two Aerandir) just to make things fair.

With all the decorations going up around either village, no body would be surprised to find a six foot Christmas tree in the lodge. Or would they? What they may have expected to be an elaborately decorated tree, complete with twinkling lights, tinsel and all the shinies of this earth may be sadly mistaken.
The tree is, in fact, in both lodges, almost completely bare. Save for a star on the top, and a few rings of silver and red tinsel.
Odd, maybe, but there is a sign erected in front of each tree. The sign states simply, "Decorate me", and beside which sits a cardboard box of white baubles: perfect for painting, drawing or even just paw-painting all over.

Everyone deserves a present this Christmas, and with over twenty Aerandir currently present, making sure that everyone receives something from everybody would be a difficult feet to achieve.
So, to keep it fair, a secret Santa event would make sure that everybody (and every Aerandir) receives something this Christmas. After all, it’s just as much fun to give as it is to receive.
This event will be running in character, and out of character. The 'in character' being run solely through Emi, who posted all the glossy leaflets through everyone's doors. While the out of character will be for any one who wants to take part, including any lurkers that may be present.
You're free to make your own gifts, buy through Mini-shops, the Gaia stores (for any nakie wannabe mules, or even avatars out there) and any other places you can scrounge items off.
Here's the catch though - you are only aloud to spend 3k per recipient.
Please please please, if you aren't willing to buy something for any recipient you may receive, don't sign up. It’s horrid not to receive anything at Christmas, so please don't render somebody else gift-less.
If you cannot afford 3k, I will leave 30k funding on Blanche's mule, and feel free to PM me and I'll gladly give you any gold you’ll need, as long as it makes sure everyone gets a Christmas Present.

I'm going to set up this signing up thread early, so it gives people chance to sign up and gives me time to sort everything out to make this run smoothly.
Please could you post in this thread if you intend to sign up for either Secret Santa, and then private message Plastic_Button all forms. (Plastic_Button is my wannabe Blanche mule. My inbox is currently rather packed, so I'd rather all forms went through her.)
In character, Emi will have sent all the leaflets out to everyone, so if you’re character decides to enter the in character SS, then could you please send any letter responses (once again) to Plastic_Button. Also note, if you have two Aerandir and sign both up, you will need to do two separate forms for the IC SS.
Just to keep everything mightily secret, please do not tell anyone who you have received (unless you trust them with serious earnest). Gifts won't be revealed who they are from, so if you want to say in the end who you sent your SS to, feel free to PM them after Christmas day- when all items will have been given out.

To make sure this Christmas is remembered, I want to do an image of everybody's avatars. In character, this of course will not be known, but it's a nice souvenir to come out with at the end of 2006.
For this, I need everyone who wants to be included to send a background-less image of their avatar to Plastic_Button.
To get a background-less image, the best way to do it is through TekTek. I know this may take an extra five minutes, and I sincerely apologize, but this way it'll be far easier on me when I come to put the final image together.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Alyosha and the Aerandir team, as without him, none of this planning would have ever even happened. Without his hard work and dedication to this project, the Aerandir wouldn't exist- and for that, thank you ever so much.
Another big thank you goes out to the community itself, as without you, all the role plays that take place wouldn't, and this event wouldn't even lift off the ground. So thank you too.
