ive been trying for so long to change me profile. ill explain my problem the best i can. well i wanted to add css, like everybody else, so i went searching and found a guide with basic codes. here is the one i started with
#extendedProfileBody #header h1 { background: url('IMAGE URL'); }
then i replaced the 'IMAGE URL' part and now it looks like this
#extendedProfileBody #header h1 { background: url('http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/shadowzombie/Gaia/header.jpg'); }
but still nothing comes up. is there something else i have to add? ive put it in the theme/css tab, is it in the wrong place? help would be appreciated

Those codes are for the old school profiles and you're using the new profile. You can switch styles on your account page or visit the following thread for the names of each section in the new profiles:

I'm not sure. I haven't had a chance to really try out the new school profiles. I thought it was a setting in the profile manager dealy, but apparently not. I couldn't find it.
Sorry I can't be of any help.

Yeah. Get rid of IE. wink
Okay, really, what you need to do is build the profile in Firefox first. IE6 and lower don't render CSS properly. IE7 is much better about it, though it still has some bugs. Firefox, however, is standards complaint (meaning it renders things the way they're supposed to be rendered).
There are some hacks you can use after you've built your profile to look right in Firefox that will help it render properly in IE. One thing you have to note, though, is that some of these hacks can cause problems in IE7 since they've been fixed. If you want to read more about it, just Google "Internet explorer hacks" and you'll get a ton of links to check out.
The short version is here though. That's a thread that has the hacks listed and which browsers they affect.
