OK... since the "describe the avatar above you" game is so popular, I decided to make a new, harder version of it. This one is similar to the preceding game, but you have to use rhetorical strategies consciously. Metaphors are one way you can do this, but you can also transform the avatar as uhh... "the embodiment of Death" and then use apostrophes by addressing the avatar as "Death."
Basically, just choose a rhetorical strategy that works as imagery and stick with it for one post. Be sure to post what strategy you're using!

This is Parari under a mule account and my rhetorical strategy will be the use of allusions.

She was luminous with a light pink aura surrounding her. Her intense red eyes reminded me of the god of war, Mars, but her seductive aura was that of Venus. I realized the moment I set my eyes on her that I was seeing a deity of feminism. There had been rare women like her, but once they took their stance in the public eye, they were recognized as what they were. Such women were Rosa Parks and Betty Freidan; the type of women not afraid of domination imposed by society and were willing to do anything to do what she wanted. Her carefree stance showed more than that vitality inherent in those types of women; she was a trickster also, but only experience with a certain Oberon of her own had made her one. That was the quality that made her especially feminine: her mischieviousness.

Her stance told the world 'she was herself and no one could change that'. She was independent, and by the way she looked she didn't like fight. A lover, not a fighter obviously. I could see where she stood in the world. A moving statue of justice. She was quiet as a child that refuses to talk. That made her mysterious.

She was dressed like a thief hiding her true identity behind her mask and ready to gracefully fly away from the scene of the crime on her delicate butterfly wings.

[This is hard, but we need the challenge. Otherwise how will we improve.]

[gwinivere, I'm not sure how your technique was the use of allusions... will you explain that to me?]
I'll be using metaphors

He was the sky, full of blue and the expanse of my imagination. There was no other replacement for the loss of the sky when dark clouds covered it. The most wonderful feeling came when those clouds disappeared, revealing him, the one that never changes, though his outward appearance might. That was the secret of his infinite beauty.

He was water, flowing through my hands. Droplets flew through the air, soaring downwind and downstream towards the sea. His element was neutral, but he sought saturation through knowledge. His mind was free now, but he wanted it as concentrated as the Dead Sea. It did not matter that he had to corrupt himself a bit to learn more about life and himself. But it was through this yearning that he maintained his innocence.

He stretched his across his body, a cat reaching for a mouse. Tha balloon he held was a piece of cheese, lulling his prey into a false sense of safety. Yet, the claws of the hand that held it were tense. Waiting for the chance to pounce.

He stepped calmly through the crowd of strays, watching for bits of dropped food. The colours of his coat showed that he wasn't chasing rubber mice anymore. He was on to bigger prey. The alleycats watched him go, dizzy from his passing. Slowly, they brought their scraps of food and followed. Looking back at the dazed crowd, the cat bared a fang, all a gruesome grin.

Well, the first part is pretty straight forward, but the second is riddled with metaphors. I love metaphors, but did I go overboard?

she was a trick, noughtiness disguised by innocence. Her hair was a cloud of smoke crowning her head.

Her hair was a bow, the crown of her body. The leaf of Eden wrapped around her like the snake of deception.

(Pretty good biblical allusions, if I do so say so myself.)

The night masked his face, with two stars shining from within the darkness. The sea of black cloaked the rest of his body, leaving only his his skin and hair untainted.

She was a flurry of light, a bright orb dancing across your vision like a firefly across the night sky. The pink and green leaving a ghost in your mind's eye when you closed your eyes. Just as elusive as a pixie, like her named deemed her, she couldn't be caught; and in a flash of neon she was gone; dancing like a lightningbug out of your reach.

He was a prisoner. But of what? It could be that someone had tried to capture him, but it seemed unlikely. My impression was that he had imprisoned himself, and deprived himself of his own possessions. It would seem like a self-demoting thing, yet his hair, a pool reflecting the blue the sky just before sunset, showed his self-confidence.

Her green skirt reminded me of the summer grass I played in as a child. Her hair was as pink as the setting sun...
