The sun shone down near the stream that day, warmth trickling down onto the pelts of both cub and pup. Kabichi and Legeti didn't know how long they'd walked, but they were too tired to rise with the sun, let alone bother getting up. They were hungry, sleepy, and scared, but too tired to hide in the brush. Kabichi did finally open an eye though. Glancing at Legeti a moment, the cub groomed her companion, wondering where his brother was as she looked up and around, ears pricked to attention and moving every which way to listen. Her nose snuffed at the air, and she remained that way. Better safe than sorry.

A pale, creamy-tan cub bound after a drifting butterfly, pale blue eyes shining in the sun's light. Swatting a chocolate-dipped paw at it, she laughed as it went out of reach. Stopping in her leaps and bounds, Mut looked about. Someone else was there, she could smell 'em. Not yet able to identify others by smell, Mut didn't know if it was friend or foe. So she did the only thing she could think of - She went towards it. What she saw was another cub, pale as a cloud puff with marks of blue and green. Peeking through the grasses, Mut's dark chocolatey ears perked as she listened for any sounds the other cub made.

Kabichi's ears pricked as she scented another, and she rose slowly, ears errect as she looked around. It wasn't food, so it had to be something else. Lion, perhaps? The cub tried to look as tough as possible.
"Who goes there?" She asked. She stood over the sleeping Legeti protectively.

Leaning out of the grass, the pale cream cub smiled big. "I'm Mut! Who're you?" She stepped out of the grasses, plopping down on her rump. Bright-eyed and tail twitching, the cub was a bundle of cream, white, and chocolate giggles. How this had come to be was a great mystery.

Seeing the cub meant no harm, and Legeti was asleep anyway, Kabichi stepped over the pup, then sat.
"My name is Kabichi, and this is my friend Legeti! He's s'eepin'." She smiled, then looked around. Seeing no rodenbts, her attention returned to the bigger cub.

"I can see! Whatcha doin' in these parts? I've never seen you before!" Then again, there were a lot of cubs she'd never seen before, not all of them her age. Most of the cubs she knew were her brothers and sisters. So to meet someone unrelated was something wonderful!

"...Wandering." Kabichi said, quietly. "Looking for food."
She didn't mention the lack of a family yet. No need to bother anyone...

"Well, if you're hungry... We can go see if Big Brother can get you something! He's great at getting food!" The cub smiled, delighted by... Well, most anything. Standing up, she tried to see her big brother. Though he wasn't a brother by blood, Mut and all of her sibblings still called Danzi their brother. He was easy enough to see, too. A bright orange.

"Brother?" Kabichi looked nervious, but food was food, so she lifted Legeti (He slept through it), aand began to pad after Mut.

"Yeah!" Bouncing a bit to try and see, Mut soon located something orange. Of course, considering there was only really ONE orange lion in all of the Pridelands... It was easy to deduce who it was. Bounding over, she soon was climbing up an orange mountain into black 'grass.' "Big brother!"
Surprised at the sudden sensation of something climbing up his back, Danzi had looked back... And found one of his eight younger sibblings climbing up onto his head. Chuckling, the male smiled. "Hello, Mut'salama. What brings you up onto my head?" His black nose twitched and the male glanced over the grass. Something blue and white moving amid the green... "Looks like you found a new friend!"

Kabichi straightened up, both ears pricking a bit as she set Legeti down, studying the male. Would he hurt them? She sniffed slightly. He didn't smell like the rogues from before, and didn't sound like one. She sat, watching the male, half nervious, half curious, allowing him the first move.
"How do you do, Mister?"

He could see the hesitation in her. "I fare well. And how do you do, little one?" He shifted and lay down, trying to make himself appear less... Intimidating.
Still very much on the adult's head, Mut slid forward slightly when he lay down. "She's hungry." Blunt. Oh, yeah, Mut was so winning that award for 'subtle' when she got old enough.

He wasn't baring claws, so Kabichi decided to ventue closer.
"We're.. OK..." She nodded a bit when Mut said Hungry, and picked Lehgeti up, padding a couple feet closer, close enough that she could swat back if she needed to. She didn't, however, and resumed watchful or the orange stranger.

"Hungry, eh...? Well, it IS about time for food, isn't it?" Gently shaking Mut off his head. Danzi rose up and indicated a tree near the water. "Why don't you three stay there, and I'll go get something? The zebra herds have plenty of small foals and I could bring you one." Never hunt more than was needed. They were small cubs, not big enough yet to need much more.
Bouncing over to the indicated tree, Mut sat down and purred, "Okay, big brother!" She motioned Kabichi over, tail curling and uncurling, ears perked up.

Kabichi picked Legeti up and trotted over to Mut, keeping her eyes on Danzi the whole time before laying down next to Mut, and putting Legeti down. This roused the pup, who yawned, and peeped up.
"Buh?"
