The journal sits innocuously on the table, appearing to be nothing more than a simple black book. But upon further inspection, the book covers seem to be made of some strange dark blue stone or metal, with flecks of silver embedded in it that gleam in the light. The pages inside the journal are just as strange; instead of traditional white paper, the paper is black, and the first few pages of the book are filled with small, neat handwriting penned in silver ink.
However, the last page that was written in only had a few lines written on it, and a large blot of ink, as if it was spilled on the page.
Curiously, the ink stain is shaped like a meteor, complete with a glittering tail.

Your Herald is now a child with a personality all her own. Except for the wings, it's almost easy to forget that she was once an angel, isn't it? Even she seems to have forgotten. But the past hasn't forgotten her...

Age: 5; stage- Messenger Reborn
Gender: Male
Looks:
As all Fallen messengers, Nikolai has long white hair and is entirely genderless. Fatigued and frail, he doesn't move about too much. Though, it is interesting how his eyes, after being given his sacrifice, became such a dark bluey-purple color, yet seem to have an inner glow of goldenrod and reds.
Likes:
Things of a glowing nature are very attractive to Nikolai. As are Luna moths and paper lanterns that Jade decorated the porch of her home with.
Dislikes:
Being left alone or in bright sunlight seem to disagree with Nikolai the most. Considering how pale he is, he burns far too easily to stay in the sun very long to begin with.
Bad habits:
Nikolai is the sort of person who likes to be around others, though doesn't say very much. Just being around others makes him feel special, but can enjoy his privacy and isolation more at times. Always quiet and seemingly shy, he doesn't take off friendships straight away.
When he does get some energy, it seems he likes to fingerpaint- he doesn't need to move about a lot, and it gives him a bit of excersize moving his arms about. A start, but not a lot of progress... Perhaps teaching him to stand again is next in order.
Good habits:
Always one to keep a level head, Nikolai is a free thinker. He likes to imagine, and seems to have a lot of dreams about flying as could be said of his fingerpainting masterpieces. Though he doesn't show a promising future as an artist, he does seem to enjoy moving paint about... Perhaps Pottery would be better when he gets to be a bit older.~*~*~*~

Gender: Female
History:
Jade's life has had many ups and downs; though sadly, far more downs than ups. As a young child she lost her father in a car crash, and her mother several years later in a losing battle against cancer by the time Jade was twenty three. Her sole comfort, being an only child, had been the man she'd come to love. Like most people who'd come to be very close, it seemed that it was only a matter of time before the hands of fate grasped hold of him as well to wrench him away from her; just before her thirty fourth birthday he was killed in an accident at the factory he'd worked in. It seemed that people avoided her, and she'd become known as a jinx. After the loss of her parents she endured, but she could not after losing the person she wished to marry.
In sorrow however, it seemed she found some joy- if it hadn't been for these losses, she would not have found Nikolai on that fateful night.
Career:
Jade is a novelist by choice, book dealer by practicality. Her novels tend to sell poorly, and seem to have basis in ledgends of folklore that people don't seem to care much for nowadays. As such, she runs a small bookshop when she isn't working on her college degree. Having had no means of financial backing, her novels took over as her main source of attention- though when that fell through and she was too old to come to be able to get financial aid she turned to online classes for her degree in journalism.
Likes:
Romantic novels by the fireplace while curled up in a blanket tends to be her favorite place to be when it's cold outside. A hot cup of cocoa isn't by any chance turned away either. Warm nights she tends to find herself on her porch, staring up at the night sky and finding constellations and seeing if she could recall the story that accompanied them. A telescope was placed on the porch opposite a swinging bench just to catch a glimpse of the "Rabbit on the moon" in asian culture or some other event that could only be seen with a telescope. Her favorite food is chocolate devils food cake she forbids herself from having more than once every month or two.
Dislikes:
Sushi, the smell of vinegar and having to house break pets are her least favorite things. And, much like pets, cleaning up poopy diapers also are not something Jade has been fond of. The mess of books and disorganization in her home seem to be the main worry- after all, "organized chaos" seems to be her motto when it comes to house keeping. As well as "why do today what you can clean up tomorrow?"
Habits:
A bookworm by nature, Jade likes to avoid the rest of the world by hiding in a good book. Avoiding that which can hurt you and be hurt by you. It is because of this she is afraid of getting far too close to Nikolai even when she knows she is obligated to take care of her little ward she'd rescued.

Jade's Thoughts: Odd little creature, but he and his keeper certainly seem to be good company. Rand should make a good friend for Nikolai, and hopefully coax him out of his shell.
Nikolai's Thoughts: Rand kept me company and liked Hot Chocolate almost as much as me! I hope we can play togeter again soon.

Jade's Thoughts: The little girl is the oddest thing I have ever seen. Does she come with a translator? Luckily her caretaker is more sensible.
Nikolai's Thoughts: She's weird, but she seems like a lot of fun!

Jade's Thoughts: She's very bold for a little girl, and a bit naive to try and learn magic. But then, Heralds may very well be magical. She seems to be Nikolai's only good friend.
Nikolai's Thoughts: The only person I can talk to as much as Mother. I hope she won't go away...
