Finishing the systems check on his standard issue Zaku, Majik climbs into the cockpit, radios in the ready signal, and waits for further instructions...

Kuro boards his Zaku, boots it up, and immediately heads for the Paintball gun. "Thank god I actually listened during breifing, otherwise I'd be stuck waiting for Instructions!"

Hearing COM chatter, Majik homes in on the frequency, pinging stone structures visible from his vantage point, and triangulating Kuro's signal. Dropping a Navigation marker onto his HUD as a Place of Interest, Majik heads out, making for his designated Paintball gun...
Thinking to himself, Majik allows himself a smirk as he turns off his own COM channel, I may not be an incredible ace MS pilot, but I'll be darned if I can't carry over a few tricks from piloting a cruiser...

Kuro found his paintball gun in the middle of the feild. It was set on a Giant metallic table, along with Majik's gun. Well, gee, that's weird... Kuro picked his gun up and hid the Tan-Chan behind a set of trees, waiting for Majik to come and get his gun.

As Majik sprinted towards his destination, something began to nag him in the back of his mind. Slowing his forward momentum, he flipped his displays through their cycles, trying to justify his instinctual feelings...
...Nothing on Motion Sensor...
...No radio chatter...
...Nothing on the Heat Sensing Arrays...
Everything checked out... but something just didn't feel right...
As my instructors always said "Err on the side of caution..."
Deciding to investigate the point of interest on his Nav HUD and leave his weapon retrieval for later, Majik back-peddled and cut off to his right, towards a rocky outcropping that stuck out like a set of jagged teeth.

...Nothing on Motion-Sensor...
...Nothing on... wait a sec...On his Heat sensor setting, everything checked out... except for a large blot that stood out from all of the background heat... either a large bonfire had been set, or his fast-reacting opponent had reached his goal first and had time to set up an ambush... Realizing the imminent danger he had just walked into, Majik back-peddled and cut off to his right, towards a rocky outcropping that stuck out like a set of jagged teeth. ((Heat Sensors are infared. The Tree's have the same heat signature as the Zaku, if not greater. Infared is practically useless in this setting.))

I figured that the infrared sensor would pick up on the use of light-based sensor arrays... but I'll take your word for it. ^^ And wouldn't the reactor of an MS give off a marginally greater amount of heat than a tree? Lol, just a question...)) ((Edit: Regardless of heat dissipators, the heat has to go somewhere))

((Bah, it's called Thermal. Oh well.
Oh, and heat dissipators would lower the suit's heat signature to that of a tree, anyways. you really wouldn't notice it, since the Tan-Chan's hidden IN A FORREST.))

Kuro dazed of for a second, allowing his oppon ent to slip past him. "DAMNIT!" Kuro then took off twoards the direction his opponent came from: That would be the fastest way to the flag, the next quickest way to win this.

Catching a flurry of motion on his sensors, Majik felt the urge to turn and go for his weapon, but fought it down. Turning from his original route towards the rocky outcropping, he ended up a couple hundred yards past the Tan-Chan's hiding place, heading in the direction of the NAV marker straight and true.
Using his boosters to manuever his lighter MS over his last set of obstacles from the top of a hill and shaving precious seconds from his arrival time, Majik slowed momentum long enough to scoop up his opponents flag, sparing a moment to wonder how far his opponent had gotten...

Kuro had grabbed the flag, and was now back to the weapons table. as he rushed passed it, he grabbed Majik's weapon and threw it off into the forest area. Cheap or not, I'm not losing this match. Kuro spotted Majik's Zaku appear at the top of his radar, and he rushed him.
