(Meh. I wanted to be creative, but alas I came up with only the stereotypical park setting. I promise you a better one when Nero's grown. XD)
The scorpion lad was walking along in silence, clad in some baggy clothes that were meant to protect him from the weather, although he could barely feel the changes in heat through his thick and armor-like skin. He was clacking his claws idly, all four of his eyes scanning the area warily. He hadn't been to the park in a long time, and never alone. He glanced around, drawing in a deep breath. It was unusually empty... How bizarre.
He glanced around, looking for a nice place to settle down for a little bit. He was simply tired of walking. He wasn't quite sure what to do there, either, or why his legs had brought him here. He simply wanted out of his house. He walked over to a nearby blench, and plopped down awkwardly, trying to move his tail so that he could sit comfortably. Stupid thing. He sighed softly.

The reason the park was so creepily empty was a purple haired critter being led along by her redheaded mother. The teenager wasn't so good at the mother thing, and was more like an older sister, leaving her older girlfriend to do the parenting. Therefore, Tyven had the chance to scare off a few of the other children.
Now that her fun had ended (everyone running off), Tyven was blinking around apathetically, until... Ooh. Big thing. Still, he was registered as predator, not prey, and she hated other predators. Those claws, and that tail. Dangerous.
"HI! Aren't YOU cute!"
Leave it to Jem to say hello.

(Sorry for the delay. Busy week. @_x)
The boy started slightly at the sound of someone's voice, and he looked up uncertainly at whoever had thrown them at him. He managed a smile to the teen, and then another more brief one towards the little creature she was toting along. Now, being that Nero was quite monsterish in his appearance, he had grown quite used to child-oddities unlike the humans that wandered these playgrounds and showed no true fear on account of the little thing's appearance. However... There was something about this kid that sent chills of uncertainty down his spine.
He promptly ignored them, "H-hello." He offered shyly, clacking his claws nervously. He ducked his head sheepishly, "U-umn..." No one really called the scorpion lad cute, so he wasn't quite sure how to respond.

It was more his stutter, and personality that made Jem say that, because his claws were rather formidable. However, she thought he looked COOL. The redhead patted his claw in greeting, and flopped hard onto a nearby stone bench, wincing, and rubbing at her jeaned butt before laughing.
Tyven, now free of her affectionate parent, silently approached him, giving him a lavender stare, before dropping her gaze to examine him. Mmmmn. Suddenly, the little girl looked up, and gave him a brilliant smile, actually looking cute, if not pretty, rather than creepy... Even if her fangs were obviously sharp. He was shy, not a threat, nor competition.
"Ah'm Tyv."
Jem raised an eyebrow, but acted as if her little girl voluntarily speaking to a strange was normal.
"And I'M Jem!"

The boy took in consideration those fangs that she flashed, but with little worry. He merely was taking a mental note, as he often did, and then set that aside. After all, his best friend in the whole world was a shark with rows and rows and flesh-tearing fangs. Certainly the girls would not phase him. He liked her eyes. They were very pretty. And she looked rather cool... If not a bit intimidating beneath her innocent smile.
"H-hello, T-Tyv." He offered her a warm smile, nonetheless. Just because she seemed a little different was no reason to treat her that way, right? She seemed nice enough, and her guardian was rather friendly as well. "I-I'm N-Nero!" He chirped, rapidly overcoming his nervousness.
He directed his gaze towards the both of them now, "I-It's n-nice to m-meet you!"
