Anyone at all?

Sorry, this guild is somewhat dead, and truthfully, the only reason I came over here today was because I was getting some information for another guild that I am a part of (IE, where you go to make a recruitment thread)

One of my friends is trying to publish her works too. From what I've seen her go through, it's a long process. Many contracters(I think, I'm not sure exactly what they are called) won't look at you unless you're published, and many publishers won't look at you unless you have a contracter.

The only advice that I can give you, if you really want to publish these things, is to not give up, even if you have a huge stack of rejection letters. That's what happens to a lot of authers before they actually get published.

Welllll, I've been toying with the idea of just copyrighting my writings, then post them online, e-books, or self-publishing (not sure exactly how that works..). You could just get your stuff copyrighted, then take it to a copy store and have them make a bunch of copies of your story and bind it (like plastic binding) and then give it to friends, family, people, etc.

If you did that, then you could like go to book thingies, like...shows, clubs, all sorts of things. Heck, ask your local grocery store if you can set up a table and maybe give away free chapter 1 copies to get people interested. Then maybe if you get well known in town or something, then you might be sorta more known and desirable ninja

Just an idea. I don't know about the copyrighting and legal stuff. But it sounds good XP I would think it would be okay as long as you somehow copyrighted your stuff. Maybe keep like 10 notarized, postal seal enveloped copies hiding under your bed or something rofl

E-books sound good too. I dunno how to make them or anything, but there's websites that host them. I've seen some by KIDS that you pay like 10 cents for XD

There's always the idea of NOT publishing and writing just for yourself...make what I've been calling your own self-library or a portfolio of your writings, like visual artists do. But I'm very guilty of wanting to publish things, hold a book in my hand and gloat, have fans and readers, be interviewed, etc. *sighs dreamily*

Why do you want to publish? Like do you want to be published to be super successful and have millions of fans or something? I want lots of fan and people that love me and like worship my feet xp I think that means I'm sorta lonely....hmmm...

O.o mhm. A good reason. Not selfish like mine xd Wanting fans isn't the only reason I would want to be published. Part of it is what you said, about showing others a way to vent. Mostly I write for fun, venting my "fun" feelings, but also I write to get those stories out of my head and to put ideas I have about how people work into play. It all starts to make me feel nutty if I keep them trapped in my noodle whee

Cool. I've heard of some ways to copyright... I think I read about it from this guild xp There's probably other ways. How are you copyrighting your stuff?
