Pales sat on the picnic table, and Armel stood in front of him, his arms crossed over his chest and glaring up at the man. They seemed to be engaged in some talk, though the talk was kind of one-sided due to the fact the man talked and the boy just said one word a lot of the time.
"Come on go play or something." Pales pleaded softly.
"No." Armel said firmly. Glaring at the man rather heatedly. How dare he insinuate he'd humiliate himself by playing, and alone no less, that was even worse.
Pales' shoulders slumped a bit and his hands went to his face and his elbows rested upon his knees he let out a soft whine for a moment, "You are such a stubborn child."
Armel seemed to find a small bit of pleasure in driving his 'Da' crazy. He wandered over and put a small hand on his foot and twitched his lips a bit his version of a brief smile. Armel managed to look ... cutesy and stared up at Pales with large eyes, "Da.."
That seemed to make Pales' frustration melt away. "Fine...What do you want to do?"
At that Armel shrugged and he removed his hand and resumed his cross-armed stance. The cute moment was done. That's it for the day... Maybe.

Nio had promised Donny he'd take the boy out, because he'd been good lately, and the boy in turn promised to stay where Nio could see him at all times. That scare with running away had almost gotten Nio's blood pressure up, and he didn't want a repeat performance.
"Daddy does mah tux look just like yours? Viddy said I get a tux not a dress and you get one too."
"Well, it's similar.. you don't have to wear a hat. And yours is smaller, of course.. and it has room for your wings."
"I dun like black, it's not shiny."
"Well too bad, because that's the color!"
"Can I wear a gold one?"
"No, Donny. I won't have my son looking like a lounge singer at my we- .. oh, hello there."
Nio and Donny had just passed Pales and Armel, and the man stopped as he noticed the two sitting on a park bench. Though he'd never seen them before, it was.. pretty obvious the boy was a Tale. It was always surprising how different they all looked, yet somehow connected in their differences.
"Don't believe I've met you before, my name's Nio. Are you a new father?" He gestured in Armel's direction with a soft smile.

Pales was about to groan when he was suddenly addressed by Nio and he then held it in, "Err..Yeah, I guess you could say that." Putting on his best smile. "Recieved him a couple of days ago." He looked at the boy by Nio and blinked, "Stationary store?" He said softly. He was still getting used to all this. It still seemed a little odd.
Armel peered at the man and the boy that had interrupted them, well not really interrupted them. Though the boy seemed interesting and thus he stared at him for a long moment with a narrow-eyed studying gaze. My the boy was certainly ... loud and flashy. Armel decided to remain quiet for the moment. Stepping a bit closer to his Da.

Loud and flashy? That was Donny all right! Donny had hardly noticed the boy until his father had stopped to talk with them, but once he had, he let out a hoot. He hopped over to stand in front of Armel, inspecting him with a critical gaze.
..He didn't look too happy.
"Hoy." Donny murmured out quietly, his head cocked as he looked at the other boy. "My name is Donny. Wha's yours?"
"Hah, yeah." Nio laughed in reply, moving to sit down on the bench when Donny started up with Armel. He rested his arms back on the bench, and looked out at the park in front of him. "How'd it happen for you?" He wondered if everyone's story was as frightening or exciting as theirs had been.

Armel stared at the boy for a few moments not saying a word. He had almost made up his mind to not address the boy at all, though then Pales would make him. He sighed softly, fine, "Armel." He said lightly pointing at himself as if to signify it was his name. This not knowing how to communicate the whole way seemed to frustrate Armel. The look of aggrivation briefly passed his face, but he wouldn't let anyone teach him. It had to be his idea.
"It was...loud..and dizzying." Pales replied to Nio. "I recall being confused more than actually scared..I wasn't sure what to do with the boy at first. It took me a few minutes to figure out what his name was..It was all very odd..Kind of blurred in my head now. Y'know?" Pales explained, he looked at Adonis, "Adonis certainly is a friendly young one though. Very unlike Armel..Not that Armel is mean or anything." Pales amended the last part quickly.

"Armel, Adonis. Armel, Adonis!" Donny repeated, pointing at the boy when he said his name, and pointing at himself when he said his own. "My name's bigger. Dey both start with A's though!" While normally Donny would have pointed out the shininess of this particular person.. he found little to be impressed with. This left Donny at a loss as to what he could use to connect with the boy, and came to the conclusion that perhaps he wasn't worth connecting with at all.
"Yeah, it's a little bit of a trip, and I don't know if any of us understand it yet, but I'm not complaining." Nio loved his little gift, the son he'd always wanted in his life after years of accepting that he was never meant for a family. So much had changed in such a small amount of time. He gave Donny a fond look, watching him interact. "He and his sister are both social butterflies, despite being so different. We were blessed once with Viddy, my fiancee's daughter.. so I was really surprised that Donny was added into our life."
The man was clearly quite content with his life, and his family, and he comfortably leaned back against the benches, smiling. A thought struck him, and he sat up, pulling something out of his pocket.
"Oh! Since you're new, Huni may not have given one to you, so I will. Here." He held out the enveloped invitation to Pales, waiting for him to accept it. "All the Tale owners are invited to our wedding, of course. It's .. ah .. a little bit of a short notice, since it's Friday. But if you can make it, we'd be glad to have you and your family."

Armel stared at Adonis for a moment. What could he like about the boy. The wings. The markings. The boy was nice looking all together, perhaps he ought to play up to that? Maybe...Though that would be bowing down to someone, he pointed at his wings, "Pretty." He said first and then he thought a moment what is it people did with wings, ah yes, "Fly?" It was a good question indeed. Could the boy fly?
"Viddy..Viddy..Vidya? I met her the other day. Quite a wonderful little girl." Pales complimented with a small nod. Though Armel was the one that had most of the pleasure of dealing with the small blue girl.
Pales blinked as he accepted the envelope, "A..Are you sure about this? I am not sure..I could find something to wear to this." He thought for a moment. Perhaps it was time to go shopping he supposed. "My family. Hmm. I know one that would be delighted to go maybe two. We'll see. I think I'll definately go if I can find something appropriate." He nodded, and why not? I'd be a good way to get over his shy-ness if he ever could and maybe Armel could make some more ... Friends.

Did.. did he just call Adonis' wings pretty..?
In the span of four seconds, Donny's entire outlook on this boy went from bad to good. He broke out into a grin, and rose his wings up to spread them out fully, leaving them both in their shadow.
"Yes, Donny uses pretty wings to fly! Very heavy though, Donny must get bigger to carry them better." Once Donny had decided the boy was obviously brilliant and therefore deserved Donny's attention, he noticed things about him a bit more. "Ohh.. pretty shiny hair. Viddy has those two." He pointed at the braids, though of course not about to touch them unless the boy allowed him to. He'd learned that lesson long ago.
"Yep, That's our Vidya. Sometimes I wonder if the two of them are actually related by blood.. despite how different they look, they're both so energetic and sweet. Did you meet Enoh as well? All the more reason for you to come to our wedding."

Armel's lips twitched faintly in a brief smile, "Nice." He nodded approvingly, "Strong." He complimented again. Playing on the other boy's ego seemed to be a good way to get to know more about him. "Vidya..." He paused a moment, what was the word. He was struggling with this whole thing for a moment. What was that word? Ah yes, "Met. Vidya." He said each seperately it seemed he spoke brokenly for the moment but he learned a little more each day.
Pales smiled a bit as he heard Armel but his attention was brought back to Nio, "Yes, Adonis seems quite nice as well." He complimented, "Enoh? No I have not met her someone else was caring for Vidya at the time when I met her. I take it Enoh is busy with wedding things." He nodded, "I would love to meet her though. Any couple capable of .. Attracting such delightful children are bound to be wonderful." He wasn't sure what the word was for what happens at the Stationary shop. Attracting seemed good though.

Adonis was clearly smitten by the boy. The few words the boy said were all in praise, and those were always the best kind. The only thing as good as words of praise, was silence, and the boy wasn't chattery either. He only said what he had to say, no more and no less. Honestly, Adonis could ask for nothing better.
"Everyone's met Vidya," Donny murmured with a giggle, rolling his eyes. "She everywhere." He was unbelieveably attached to his sister, and was proud of just how many people knew her. After all, she was his sister. That was saying something in itself. "Viddy perfect." He concluded, and that statement summed up how he felt about the girl, or rather, what he considered fact about her.
He paused, and pointed up at the monkey bars, giving Armel a thoughtful look. "You play?"
Nio grinned widely, beaming with pride. "Oh, that's really very nice of you to say. You're a good guy, uh.. oh.. man now I feel like an idiot. I'm so rude, I didn't ask you your name." Of course, Nio had introduced himself, and to anyone else he might have considered Pales as the rude one for not doing the same.. but not Nio. No, if there was a lack of introductions, Nio had to blame himself.

Armel nodded to Adonis, "Everywhere." He said in return as if agreeing, which he was. Okay so the loud and flashy boy wasn't all too bad. Just so long as he didn't cling to him. He seemed like the huggy sort. "Play?" He looked to the monkey bars a curious look crossing over his face. Playing alone seemed embarrassing, but playing with another didn't seem so bad. At least then he wouldn't seem unpopular or alone or something. Though he wondered how that childish notion snuck into his mind ... Ah well. He finally nodded after what seemed a long time, "Play." As if he was consenting to the request of someone of a lower station of himself but he clearly didn't treat Adonis in such a manner.
Pales blinked a little and gave a short laugh, "Oh my, I just got into talking about everything that I completely forgot introducing myself and such. It almost seemed like nothing else mattered." He smiled lightly and shrugged, "Sorry about that. Lack of manners on my part. My name is Pales D'Arcy." He sat up a bit and offered Nio a hand, the hand of friendship. Pales seemed good natured enough, perhaps some of that would sink into Armel.

"No no, it's completely my fault, I should have asked earlier! It's nice to meet you Pales, always a pleasure to meet new parents, and good ones at that." He took the hand and shook it firmly, grinning. "I'm sure Armel is real lucky to have you."
Hurray, it was playtime! Donny squealed in laughter and reached out to take Armel's hand, dragging him off toward the monkey bars. It wasn't that much of a walk though, and as soon as they'd come near it, Donny would let go of Armel's hand if he still had it, and fly up haphazardly into the air to cling smack in the middle of the monkey bars. His legs slung over a bar and he flopped down, hanging from his knees. This time he looked down to make sure he wasn't about to slam into the monkey bar with his head.. a brief moment of caution before he grinned at the boy upside down.
"Be careful 'cause bars hurt the head if you hit them!"
He knew this all too well.
Nio could hear Donny's voice from here, though faint, and was mildly pleased to hear the boy talking in full sentences. It seemed he was finally starting to grasp the language a little better, mostly due to Vidya's influence, among others.

Pales smiled, "Sometimes I wonder if Armel even feels that way. He just seems so...I dunno. Grump?" Pales shrugged a bit, "At least he doesn't bite anyone or hit them..."
Armel made a squeak in protest as he is pretty much dragged along, but soon his feet made to run after the boy to keep up. He glared slightly at the boy's winged back for but a moment. Otherwise he didn't yank away, though he did manage to look somewhat awed by the flying. Impressed even. Thus Armel felt that was worth the indignity the practical dragging wrought, "Hurt.." He murmurs after Adonis' warning then nodded and studied the monkeybars for a moment. Strange contraption.
He put his hands upon the bars that seemed directly across from him and attempted to climb, first couple of times didn't take too well as he fell upon his rear, until finally he figured out how to distrubte his weight and balance.
Luckily Pales didn't see what Armel was doing from a distance otherwise the poor man would have had several heartattacks in a row.

"Well, from what I've seen Armel seems like a very good boy, and, well, a little grumpiness doesn't hurt anyone." He smiled gently, and looked over at the boys just as Armel had gotten the hang of the bars. Silently to himself he wondered if Donny would ever meet someone and not end up their friend..
..not likely.
Donny watched him upside down, while he tried and tried again. The boy was persistant, that was good! Once Armel started to climb effectively, Donny pulled himself up to sit on a bar and clapped happily. "Yah yah, you got it! See we're monkeys!"
Donny had no idea what a monkey was, but these were monkeybars, and so therefore they were monkeys. Right? Flying monkeys.. let's just hope there's no wicked witch around the corner.

Armel gradually climbed along getting used to it. He peered down at the ground and momentarily froze. Should he be scared? He was determined not to show his worry though. He looked up at the boy, "Monkey?" Armel blinked several times at this.
Pales smiles a bit and nods, "I hope he'll be a good boy through out his natural life, honestly." The man laughed a bit shaking his head. "Otherwise I might get some gray hairs." He let out a small sigh. He wasn't really worried about gray hair, he wasn't all that superficial. The comment did make for a good joke though, he thought.
